“Who’s Hot, Who’s Not: Division 3

The Front-Runners: Udaho Idapimps Stand Alone

At a perfect 8-0, the Udaho Idapimps have separated themselves from the rest of the pack. Their high-powered offense has put up an impressive 328 points, the most in the division, while their defense has managed to do just enough, allowing 204 points. With a +124 point differential, they have showcased their ability to outscore opponents consistently. If they can maintain this momentum, they will enter the playoffs as heavy favorites.

Their success has been largely fueled by quarterback Brady Ohanessian, who leads the division in passing with 1,810 yards, 44 touchdowns, and just 4 interceptions. His 126.4 QB rating and 67.9% completion rate highlight his efficiency, making him a clear MVP candidate. Ohanessian has shown an ability to dissect defenses with pinpoint accuracy, spreading the ball effectively to his top targets.

One of those targets is Marvin Steinberg, who has been a matchup nightmare for defenses. In just six games, he has caught 32 receptions for 478 yards and 14 touchdowns, demonstrating elite route running and playmaking ability. His counterpart, Danick Coulombe, has been just as crucial, adding 30 catches for 446 yards and 11 touchdowns. The duo has been nearly unstoppable, creating mismatches all over the field. Defensively, Ohanessian has also made an impact with 6 interceptions, while Coulombe has added 5 interceptions to the team’s defensive efforts. Their ability to make plays on both sides of the ball has kept the Idapimps ahead of their competition. Their defensive ability to force turnovers has allowed their offense to operate with short fields, making them even more dangerous.

Top Contenders: Stoics, Underdawgs, and Backfield Penetration

While the Idapimps may be in a league of their own, the Stoics (6-1), Underdawgs (6-3), and Backfield Penetration (5-1) are all in hot pursuit. Each of these teams has the potential to challenge the front-runners and make a deep playoff run. The Stoics have dominated in efficiency, holding a +92 point differential, which reflects their ability to control the pace of games. Their disciplined approach has allowed them to maximize their possessions while limiting mistakes. Noah Swaminadhan has been a steady presence at quarterback, throwing for 14 touchdowns without an interception in limited action, showcasing his ability to protect the football and make smart decisions.

The Underdawgs have been one of the highest-scoring teams, putting up 300 points in nine games. Their aggressive offensive approach has paid dividends, with Oumar Toure emerging as a dual-threat star. Toure leads the division with 8 interceptions on defense, but he has also been a major contributor offensively, tallying 420 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. His ability to flip the field with game-changing plays makes him one of the most valuable players in the division.

Meanwhile, Backfield Penetration has been the most balanced team, boasting both a formidable offense and a stingy defense. They have allowed only 149 points, the second-fewest in the division, while putting up 266 points of their own. Quarterback Alessandro Barazzoni has been electric, throwing for 1,357 yards, 34 touchdowns, and just 5 interceptions. His 77.3% completion rate and 131.4 QB rating make him one of the most efficient passers in the league. His top target, Jaylan Greaves, has not only contributed 217 yards and 9 touchdowns on offense but has also made an impact defensively with 5 interceptions and 2 defensive touchdowns. His ability to make plays in crucial moments has been instrumental to the team’s success.

A Crowded Mid-Tier: Five Teams Battling for Position

The race for playoff seeding is far from over, as five teams are battling for key spots in the standings. Beer Belly Brigade (5-2), Les Verges Folles (5-1), Bruins (5-1), and Junkyard Dogs (5-3) are all vying for the best rank heading into the postseason. The Junkyard Dogs, led by Jason Rossie, have been one of the most exciting teams in the league. Rossie has thrown for 1,403 yards and 36 touchdowns, but his 11 interceptions have been costly. His go-to targets, Justin Gauthier (300 yards, 9 touchdowns) and Rory Semerjian (251 yards, 9 touchdowns), have been reliable weapons. However, their defense will need to tighten up if they hope to make a deep run, as they have given up 245 points, one of the highest totals among playoff contenders.

The Bubble Teams: Playoff Race Heating Up

Teams hovering around the .500 mark, such as BBQ Chicken (4-3), Blue Chips (4-3), and 4th & Shlong (4-4), will need to finish strong to secure a postseason berth. Each of these squads has shown flashes of brilliance, but inconsistency has plagued them. AF1 (4-5) has particularly struggled defensively, allowing 268 points, which has contributed to their negative point differential. Despite this, Alexandre Poulin-Rioux has kept them competitive with his 1,289 passing yards and 31 touchdowns. Their success will hinge on whether they can get key defensive stops down the stretch.

Fighting to Stay Alive: Les Pingouins and NOMADS

Les Pingouins (3-5) and NOMADS (2-4) still have an outside chance at the playoffs, but they will need to play near-perfect football the rest of the way. One bright spot for Les Pingouins has been the play of Jean-Christophe Viens, who has recorded 7 interceptions and 29 tackles, making him one of the top defensive players in the division. If their offense can step up and support their strong defensive unit, they may be able to make a late-season push.

Struggles Continue: Bottom of the Standings

For teams like 2EZ4US (2-7), Prodigy (1-4), Les Maloudes (1-6), FlagFools2.0 (1-6), and SouthSiders (1-7), the season has been a difficult one. They have been unable to find consistency on either side of the ball, and unless they can put together a few surprise victories, their seasons will likely end in disappointment. Big Fat Bats (0-7) remain the only winless team in the division. While their offense has shown some promise, led by AJ Zeppetelli (47 receptions, 554 yards, 17 touchdowns), their defense has been unable to slow down opposing teams. Without a drastic turnaround, they will likely finish at the bottom of the standings.

Upcoming Game Predictions: March 15 – March 19, 2025

Saturday, March 15 – 20:30

🏈 SouthSiders vs. Big Fat Bats
📍 Laval (Main) [2]

Prediction: Big Fat Bats 26 – SouthSiders 20
Why? Both teams have struggled this season, but Big Fat Bats have shown more offensive firepower. AJ Zeppetelli (47 REC, 554 YDS, 17 TDs) has been a key playmaker, and if the SouthSiders’ defense cannot contain him, it could be a long night.

Saturday, March 15 – 21:00

🏈 Udaho Idapimps vs. The Stoics
📍 Complexe CN [3]

Prediction: Udaho Idapimps 34 – The Stoics 24
Why? The Stoics are one of the better teams in the division, but Brady Ohanessian (1,810 YDS, 44 TDs, 4 INTs) is simply too dominant. With Marvin Steinberg (478 YDS, 14 TDs) and Danick Coulombe (446 YDS, 11 TDs) leading the receiving corps, the Idapimps should be able to outscore the Stoics comfortably.

Sunday, March 16 – 17:00

🏈 Junkyard Dogs vs. Les Verges Folles
📍 Laval (Dome) [2]

Prediction: Junkyard Dogs 30 – Les Verges Folles 27
Why? This should be a tight contest, but Junkyard Dogs’ QB Jason Rossie (1,403 YDS, 36 TDs, 11 INTs) will be the X-factor. If he can limit turnovers, the Dogs’ offense should have enough to edge out Les Verges Folles in a close one.

Sunday, March 16 – 19:00

🏈 Bruins vs. 2EZ4US
📍 BeauChateau Sportplex [3]

Prediction: Bruins 28 – 2EZ4US 14
Why? The Bruins’ defense has been solid, and Rocco Christiano (745 YDS, 23 TDs, 1 INT) provides stability at QB. 2EZ4US has struggled to keep up with more complete teams, and this game should be no different.

Monday, March 17 – 21:00

🏈 Never Overtime vs. Les Maloudes
📍 Stade Hebert [1]

Prediction: Never Overtime 31 – Les Maloudes 21
Why? Never Overtime has a dangerous QB in Ryan Kharouf (955 YDS, 24 TDs) and a reliable target in Nirosh Suresh (368 YDS, 11 TDs). Les Maloudes have been inconsistent offensively, making it difficult for them to keep up in a shootout.

Monday, March 17 – 21:00

🏈 BBQ Chicken vs. Les Pingouins
📍 CSJV [3]

Prediction: BBQ Chicken 27 – Les Pingouins 20
Why? Isiah Allard (327 YDS, 9 TDs) has been a reliable playmaker for BBQ Chicken, and their offense should have enough firepower to outlast Les Pingouins in a competitive matchup.

Monday, March 17 – 22:00

🏈 Blue Chips vs. Beer Belly Brigade
📍 Stade Hebert [2]

Prediction: Beer Belly Brigade 29 – Blue Chips 23
Why? Kevin Marcil (380 YDS, 11 TDs) has been a consistent threat for Beer Belly Brigade, and their offense is more well-rounded compared to Blue Chips’ inconsistent attack. Expect a close game, but the Brigade should come out on top.

Monday, March 17 – 22:00

🏈 Backfield Penetration vs. Prodigy
📍 Stade Hebert [1]

Prediction: Backfield Penetration 40 – Prodigy 13
Why? This is a mismatch on paper. Alessandro Barazzoni (1,357 YDS, 34 TDs, 5 INTs) has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and his connection with Jaylan Greaves (217 YDS, 9 TDs) will be too much for Prodigy’s struggling defense to handle.

Monday, March 17 – 23:00

🏈 Bballers vs. Super Daddies
📍 CSJV [3]

Prediction: Bballers 27 – Super Daddies 17
Why? Gianni Casati (1,225 YDS, 30 TDs, 8 INTs) has been solid at quarterback, and with the Super Daddies’ defense giving up too many points, Bballers should be able to secure a win.

Wednesday, March 19 – 23:00

🏈 NOMADS vs. Arouch
📍 Stade Hebert [2]

Prediction: Arouch 24 – NOMADS 21
Why? This is expected to be one of the closest games of the week, but Simon Losier (337 YDS, 10 TDs) could be the deciding factor. His playmaking ability will be crucial in securing a narrow win for Arouch.
