What’s new?!

Welcome back to another week of coed news! In the last 2 articles we looked at every team, how they were doing and gave them their somewhat mid-season report card. We have missed a few weeks of games so let’s see what happened and where the teams are at right now. 

Coed 1

Plenty of Fish

Plenty of Fish have climbed their way up to the first seed, which they currently hold 6 wins and only 1 lost. Their lost being against Les Porcinets in their very first week of the winter season, with only a one point difference (33-32). I can say that their wins were well deserved as the games were always close and they always won with a couple convert points more than their opposing teams. They have 3 games left in the season and I can confidently say that they will win those games and finish in the top 2 seeds if not the first seed in this division.

Maude Lacasse, quarterback for this team, has done a great job at distributing the ball. Every one of her offensive receivers have gained more than 100 yards with a couple touchdowns each. She only got sacked 4 times and got intercepted 5 times in 6 games, which i’d say is a really good average. Her defense is also doing really well with getting the tackles and the ball back. Maryse Paquette currently holds 17 tackles and 4 interceptions, along with her teammates, they have gained a total of 11 interceptions as a team and more than 90 tackles up to now.

Finals standings/Predictions for the rest of the season

Plenty Of Fish (9-1) They are going to win the rest of their games

Les Porcinets (8-2) They are also going to win the rest of their games

EZFun (6-4) I believe they will win against Zerosub and Les Petits Phoques, however lose against Les Porcinets

Kiss My Christmas Balls (5-5) I think they will win against Les Petits Phoques and Party Mix, however lose against Les Porcinets

Party Mix (4-5-1) They will win against The IG Team

The IG Team (2-6-1) I don’t think they will clutch in another win for the season, but may have a tie with one of their remaining games

Zerosub (2-8) They will win against The IG Team

Les Petits Phoques (2-8)

The last 3 teams such as The IG Team, Zerosub and Les Petits Phoques; are going to have to put their all into their last few games to make in into the playoff round. All 3 teams are somewhat similar and close in games won/lost, therefore clutching in 1 win may be the difference they need to make in into the green side of the standings!

Coed 2

Kiss My Christmas Balls

A 7-0 team who has claimed their first seeder since the beginning of the season. They are showing once again why this franchise is one of the best (if not THE best) in the league. Alexi Dubois keeps proving himself that the teams he builds are amazing. He is recruiting good players and allowing them to make their debut in the Flag Plus world. Me being one of those players since he was the reason I am in this league right now, fun fact. All of their wins were won by lots of points, there was not one game where the score was close. That being said KMCB will end off the season being in the first seed and my prediction is that they will, once again, end up in the finals.

Brady Ohanessian currently holds third place in the QB section for stats. He has a total of 1288 yards, 33 touchdowns, 115/190 completions, 4 interceptions and only got sacked once; all this in 7 games. Keeping this up, he will maybe get second place or stay in the third depending what the other QB’s do in their next games. Having Jerome Hovington as one of his receivers really makes Brady’s life easier. Jerome being the #1 receiver as of week 11, having 446 yards, 16 touchdowns, 38/51 completions. Keeping up the nice work he might win the offensive receiver of this season, who knows.

Standings 

With 20 teams in this division this season, I believe the minimum you can win to be eligible for playoffs is only 2 wins. If you currently only have 1 win, you better start working extra hard if you want a shot at being in the playoffs this season or else you can always sign up right away for the next season. Information for the spring season is already out if you want to take a look. However, if you make it into the playoffs with only 2 wins, you most likely lost against the other teams currently battling in the playoffs therefore won’t go far but it will give you an extra game played for this season, it’s always nice to play as much as possible. If during the season it wasn’t really working for your team, I believe it’s the right time to make changes, playoff season is right around the corner and lot’s of upsets happen during those times. Maybe your team will have a new game plan, more communication or something that’s gonna make you guys get the win! Do a little homework and analyze how the other teams play so you can create a game plan specifically for when you play against them. There’s plenty of videos and clips on the instagram page and even youtube that you can go over and look. 

The top 7 teams right now are my highest bets of who’s going to end up in the finals. Lots of them are equal, with 5 wins and 2 losts, something like that, and it always varies week to week. Playoffs are going to be longer in this division as there are lots of teams. It will go on up until May 5th where the championship finals are giong to take place. So winning your games can extend your season by one month which is always nice to have, you won’t have a huge break between seasons.

Quick Segment – Pass Whoopin’

A team who is currently placed 7th and has 5 wins, 2 losses. They have lost to Mc Nuggies in their second week, only by a convert point to which they missed on the last play of the game. Then they have lost against Fitsquad 45-41 which it showed on the field that it wasn’t their best day, happens to everyone. Having wins with a major difference of points might prove that they can win their last 3 games of the season. I can confidently say that their win against TIGRES in their fourth week really amped up the energy and the communication between the players. Having played together for more than a year prior to this season does help a lot but there are always some things we can work on, just like every other team. 

A little something from Chris Rivest, quarterback for this team and also the Season Leader for most passing yards up to now (total of 1521 yards), he has mentioned this about this team:

“After a rocky start to the season, Pass Whoopin’ is emerging as one of the top teams despite their current standing in the rankings.

Their offense has been firing on all cylinders, as they are the team with the most points scored (281 in 7 games).

His offense may be mundane, but it is effective, as no defense has been able to hold them under 30 points.

If they can figure out how to tighten their defense, they will be a force to reckon with come playoff time.”
