Week 4 Recap: Tier 1
As we conclude Week 4 of the FPF season, the intensity continues to rise across the league. Teams are settling into their groove, and the competition is really heating up. With each passing week, we are seeing standout performances and surprising upsets. This week saw some very close games that shifted the standings and set the tone for the rest of the season. Let’s dive into the highlights and takeaways from another exciting week in FPF.
Game Recap: Vengeance vs. KGP – Vengeance stays undefeated with Johnson stepping in as QB
First Half Recap: Vengeance Strikes Early
Vengeance set the tone early on their opening drive. Quaid Johnson connected with new target Jamal Noël, for a 10-yard gain, quickly followed by an 8-yard pass to Rory Semerjian, moving the ball in chunks . On the next play, Johnson hit Noël again, this time for a 25-yard bomb that set Vengeance up in scoring position. Despite a 5-yard penalty , Vengeance bounced back with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Matt Kirouac, though their 2-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful, leaving the score at 6-0.
KGP’s first drive saw Phil Cutler gaining 5 yards on a run but ultimately stalling after Noël sacked Cutler for a 5-yard loss on third down. Vengeance capitalised, with Johnson tossing a 16-yard touchdown pass to Sanders Armand, though the 1-point extra point attempt was missed, giving them a 12-0 lead.
KGP’s offence struggled to find rhythm, with incompletions and another sack by Noël forcing a turnover on downs. Vengeance then marched down the field, with Johnson hitting Semerjian for an 11-yard touchdown, extending their lead to 19-0.
Cutler responded for KGP, connecting with Quaysie Gordon-Maule and Brendan Parm to move the ball downfield. A key 8-yard catch by Dylan Garber set up a 6-yard touchdown pass to Gordon-Maule, though KGP’s attempt at a 2-point conversion fell short, bringing the score to 19-6.
Second Half: KGP Rallies, but Vengeance Holds Strong
KGP opened the second half with a promising drive, featuring a 7-yard completion to Garber, but a string of incompletions derailed the momentum. Vengeance quickly took advantage, with Johnson finding Kirouac for a 12-yard gain, followed by a 13-yard touchdown strike to Semerjian, making it 26-6.
KGP wasn’t ready to fold. Cutler found Mathieu Lepage for a huge 40-yard touchdown, cutting into the lead, but once again, their 2-point conversion was unsuccessful. The momentum shifted when Gordon-Maule intercepted a pass from Johnson and returned it for a touchdown, narrowing the gap to 26-20.
However, Vengeance responded. Johnson led a methodical drive, culminating in a 21-yard touchdown pass to Armand, though their 2-point try was again unsuccessful. KGP fought back with a 40-yard touchdown bomb to Barrett, but a failed onside pass attempt sealed their fate.
In the closing moments, Johnson found Armand for a 5-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 38-26. A final interception by Armand on Cutler’s last drive iced the game for Vengeance.

Game Recap: EZW vs. Dzod Team – A Battle of Interceptions and Touchdowns
First Half Highlights
The game began with a strong offensive drive from EZW, quarterback Jeremy White connected well with his receivers. White completed a series of passes, including a 19-yard completion to Etienne Laurence-Gervais and a 5-yard touchdown pass to Jean-Christophe Ferland. However, their attempt to convert for two points was unsuccessful, giving EZW an early 6-0 lead.
Dzod Team responded. Quarterback Jeanslee Alexis started moving the ball effectively, targeting Corey Williams and Jordanson Alexis. Dzod Team finished their drive with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Edwouard Valmé, though they also missed their extra point attempt, tying the game at 6-6.
The first half saw back-and-forth action, with both defences stepping up. Jeremy White threw three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown by Jordanson Alexis, putting Dzod Team ahead. On the other hand, Etienne Laurence-Gervais also intercepted Alexis, keeping the score within reach. Toward the end of the half, White connected with Nicolas Blais for an 18-yard touchdown, securing a successful extra point and bringing the score to 13-12 in favour of EZW. Dzod Team struck back almost immediately, with a huge 40-yard touchdown pass from Alexis to Valmé and a successful two-point conversion, reclaiming the lead at 20-13.
Second Half Action
Dzod Team managed to extend their lead when Alexis connected with Corey Williams for a short 1-yard touchdown, followed by a successful two-point conversion, pushing their lead to 28-13.
EZW’s offence was under pressure throughout the second half, with Jeremy White being sacked and throwing another interception. However, White managed to regain momentum, finding Laurence-Gervais for a 3-yard touchdown, though the extra point attempt was unsuccessful. The score stood at 28-19, still in favour of Dzod Team.
The second half became a showdown of defences, as both teams recorded interceptions. Samuel Emilio Pelchat intercepted Alexis, and White immediately led his team down the field, eventually finding Jean-Christophe Ferland for an 18-yard touchdown, though another extra point attempt failed, narrowing the gap to 28-25.
Dzod Team then attempted to extend their lead, but multiple incomplete passes and an interception by Samuel Emilio Pelchat gave EZW one more opportunity to score. White connected with his receivers, including a 10-yard pass to Samuel Emilio Pelchat, gaining crucial first downs and keeping their hopes alive. Near the end of the game White threw an 18-yard touchdown to Ferland. EZW comes back to win

Game Recap: Vengeance vs. Blessed – A Huge Win For Blessed
First Half Highlights
Vengeance opened the first half with quarterback Kevin Wyeth finding Jamal Noël for an 8-yard gain. Wyeth quickly followed up with a 25-yard completion to Noël, leading the offence downfield. Wyeth then connected with Rory Semerjian and Sanders Armand, resulting in a 2-yard touchdown by Armand. However, the two-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful, giving Vengeance an early 6-0 lead.
Blessed responded with quarterback Stephen Harripersaud moving the ball effectively. Pass completions to Laurent Foucault, Andrew Grant, and James Langshaw set up a 3-yard touchdown pass to Foucault. Blessed successfully converted for two points, taking an 8-6 lead. Blessed then capitalised on a rare Kevin Wyeth interception by Langshaw, with Harripersaud finding Grant for a 21-yard touchdown. The extra point attempt for two was unsuccessful, extending Blessed’s lead to 14-6.
Vengeance tried to bounce back, with Wyeth completing passes to Matt Bond and Noël for significant gains. However, their drive ultimately stalled after a few incomplete passes, with a crucial fourth down pass defended by William Power. Blessed took over and continued to march downfield, with Harripersaud completing passes to Hinsley Adams and Andrew Grant. A 5-yard touchdown pass to Adams further extended Blessed’s lead, though their attempt for two points was unsuccessful, leaving the score at 20-6.
Vengeance found a rhythm late in the half, as Wyeth connected with Semerjian for a 27-yard gain and a 7-yard touchdown to Noël, narrowing the gap to 20-12.
Second Half Action
Blessed opened the second half strong with Harripersaud, finding Laurent Foucault and Joey Notaro. The drive culminated in a 31-yard touchdown pass to Grant, though the two-point conversion attempt was again unsuccessful, pushing the score to 26-12.
Vengeance determined to stay in this game however as Wyeth connected with Marc-André Lapointe for 23 yards and Semerjian for a 17-yard touchdown. Despite another failed two-point conversion, the score was now 26-18. Blessed kept up their steady offensive performance with Harripersaud consistently finding Grant and Adams for big gains. A crucial fourth-down completion to Grant kept the drive alive, though the series eventually ended with a few incomplete pass attempts.
Wyeth threw an interception to Joey Notaro, allowing Blessed to take control again. Blessed capitalised with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Grant, but once again, the extra point attempt failed, making it 32-18.
With time running out, Vengeance made a valiant attempt at a comeback. Wyeth completed multiple passes to Quaid Johnson and Matt Kirouac, eventually leading to a 6-yard touchdown by Matt Bond. Vengeance executed an onside pass play, with Wyeth finding Jamal Noël for an impressive 43-yard gain, followed by a touchdown pass to Johnson. However, the two-point conversion was unsuccessful, bringing the score to 32-30.
Blessed took control late in the game but failed to score on their final drive. A punt gave Vengeance one last chance, but Wyeth’s pass was intercepted by Kendal Mayers in the endzone, sealing the win for Blessed.
