Week 2 Division 4
Whats up Division 4, I’m back with your week 2 article just before Saturday’s slate of games kick off. One note id like to make is that power rankings will not be a weekly feature in my articles as media members Peeze and Iggy will be moving the whole league’s power ranking to Instagram and try out something new for this season! Without further ado lets get into it.
Division 4’s week 2 BlockBuster Previews
Trapstars Vs. Hot Sauce Sports
Hot Sauce sports coming off a week one bye take on the 1-0 Trapstars. Trapstars squeezed out their first victory of the season against dime and bougie coming out on top 25-24. Ryan Garber has taken the reigns of QB1 for trapstars and had a good week one completing 62 % of his attempts, throwing 4 touchdowns and 2 INT’s. Definitely something to build on. Vanier Cheetahs product, Juwan Edgill, who is also a former FPF defensive player of the year started the year off right scoring 2 of trapstars 4 touchdowns and led his team in tackles. This is a big game for Hot Sauce Sports (HSS) as it is not only their first game of the season, but a heavy challenge to show that they belong in the division. It will also be the first step QB/Media persona Peeze Della Reeze will take as he attempts to flip the script of their last season in division 4B going 2-8. Peeze might not have the mobility you would like in your QB but his knowledge of the game has grown immensely and he is definitely trending in the right direction throwing less INT’s every season. Both teams will look to avoid a loss next Monday night but only one can leave with a win. I predict trapstars to seal the win in the second half with a score of 34-26. I believe the trapstars offense will be too much for HSS to handle and barring any drastic mistakes, ill take trapstars to give HSS their first loss of the season.
4th & Shlong Vs. Vultures
Like HSS, Vultures had a week 1 bye and face 1-0 4th & Shlong in this week 2 match-up. We definitely have a potential playoff matchup here on our hands early in the season and will surly shape up to be an interesting game. 4th & Shlong will look to continue to dominate offensively as Michael Caparelli searches for another 6 touchdown performance. This will be a test for Caparelli as he will face some of the divisions top athletes. One the other side, it turns out that Ben McMahon would bust the QB cap if he threw for this Vultures team so that does add another offensive weapon. This leaves Phil Roberts under center for the vultures. This will be his first season at the QB position. Unaware of how Phil will play and handle the pressures of being a quarterback, my prediction is that 4th & Shlong will win in a high scoring game 46-36 to move to 2-0 on the season.
Wide Open Bar Vs. Cunning Stunts
Perhaps I might have overlooked Wide Open Bar (WOB) when making my preseason rankings. This team has had success in FPF before and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down after multiple week 1 defensive scores allowed them to secure a 39-33 win over The Sheriff. On the other hand Cunning Stunts have forfeited their week 1 game against Nomads will will result in 60-0 loss for the team. Whatever the reason its unfortunate for both teams to have a forfeit in week 1 especially when I was excited to see Cunning stunts take the field. Im hoping this will be Stephen Casey’s first full season in the men’s division and he has been preoccupied coaching tackle football and playing Quarterback internationally. Casey recently played under center for German football team the Albersausen Crusaders.
This is a big match-up for both squads as they will both be tested and would be the first divisional matchup for each these two teams. This game can have a big impact on the playoff picture and how group E shapes up at end of the season. This game is honestly a toss up as I haven’t been able to fully evaluate Cunning Stunts due to the week 1 forfeit so I do think this will be a nail biter. I do expect WOB to have good game but ultimately fall short to the cunning stunts as Stephen Casey is very good at protecting the ball. If WOB can’t produce any turnovers, watch out for Stephen Casey and Dom Manno to link up for a few scores and secure the win 28-26.
Top Performers of week 1
QB: Michael Caparelli
Michael Caparelli, QB of 4th & Shlong had a monster week 1. He threw his only int on his first possession to shake the rust off. After that, he had a monstrous game completing 17 of 25 passes for 218 yards and 6 TDS!! He left 4th & Shlong to a nice 39-20 victory over heart break kids. Caparelli begins his QB of the year campaign off right with this 6 td performance as well as leading the division in yards. Defences of division 4 BEWARE.
WR: Joel Soucy
Wide receiver Joel Soucy went off on Les bebe magiques last Sunday. He finished with a ridiculous 7 catches on 9 targets for 75 yards and 4 touchdowns! Its clear that Joel Soucy is the #1 wideout for Bessette et ses potes as he was targeted 5 more times then their next most targeted receiver. With 9 weeks ahead of us, Joel Soucy can have a record breaking season if he is targeted as many times as he was in week 1.
Defence: Isiah Allard
Isiah did it all for Ballz Deep defensively this week. He finished the game with 2 tackles an INT and 2 sacks! Isiah might have played 10% of defensive snaps at the rusher position so to finish the game with 2 sacks is incredible. He also had a nice return on an INT that came off a blue dreamers finger tips….but C’mon Isiah, we both know you should of housed that one. Either way it was a great stat sheet stuffing kind of night for Isiah and solid week 1 win for their team.
Two way player: Edouard Leroux
Out of all of the week 1 stat lines this one impressed me the most. Edouard Leroux outdid himself on both ends scoring 3 total touchdowns. He caught all 3 passes thrown to him for 46 and 2 offensive scores. Defensively he added 3 tackles and a pick 6 for Wide Open Bar. His performance might also be the most important of the week as his play definitely gave his team some momentum in a tight game which WOB came out on top 39-33. What a performance!
