Watch Out For…

Week 4 is over and we are approaching the halfway mark for this season. Just for some information, as I always mention every season, make sure all your players get at least 5 games played in order to be eligible for the playoffs. Most teams have played 4-3 games depending on your schedule. So make sure you keep this in mind for the rest of the season.

Women’s A

UQTR – Matrix

We only had one game this week for this division, UQTR vs Matrix, which Matrix won with a score of 52-0. They did have another QB replace them this week, Emmanuelle Bronsard, who threw for 190 yards, 5 touchdowns, and completed 12 out of 13 passes. Quite impressive. It means her receivers caught everything coming their way, but also that Emmanuelle was able to throw accurately. I can confirm all of her receivers got a touchdown. We appreciate QBs who distribute the ball fairly. Additionally, Matrix brought in other players, since most of their original players were not present for this game. We saw a few new faces and others who came to help.

Defensively, they did what they had to do. Beatrice Trembley got 2 interceptions on the other team’s side of the field, which led to Matrix scoring again. Matrix performed well both offensively and defensively, even though it wasn’t their original roster. Nonetheless, it was a good game for them!

Women’s B

Supernova (65-0) Wildcats

Supernova is on fire. They have been winning games after games with high scores. Like I said last week, this will be a team to watch out for. They have the athletes to make huge plays, they run their routes correctly, and on defense, they can read the other team easily. That’s why they currently hold the record for the most interceptions as a team, with a total of 12 interceptions in just 3 games.

In this game, they got 7 interceptions, 3 of which were pick-6’s. They also made the stops they needed, whether it was tackles or pass deflections, leading to turnovers on downs and getting the ball back.

Players to watch out for:

Women’s A

Subzero: Sarah Cormier

Subzero’s snapper easily executes quick outs on any side, enabling Sara Parker to throw her a short pass and gain a first down or a touchdown.

Cayenne: Virginie Aubut-Ménard

A standout defensive player, she consistently finds herself where the ball is thrown. This is evidenced by her 16 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 4 pass deflections in just 4 games.

Matrix: Anne-Frédérique Tardif

A very agile player with a great sense of the field. She has been the most productive player for her team in terms of yardage, making covering her on offense a challenge.

UQTR: Charlie Roy

One of the most reliable receivers, she consistently catches passes and can get open if not covered closely.

Women’s B

Wolfpack: Marielle Paradis

Effective on both offense and defense, her impressive yardage stats indicate that not covering her would lead to conceding easy touchdowns.

Supernova: Camille Bergeron

An exceptional receiver, consistently gaining yards whenever she gets the ball and showing great concentration as she converts receptions into gains.

Red Nation: Emma Townsend-Asselin

Another versatile receiver, her height provides a significant advantage, allowing her to reach for high passes.

Hiboux: Maelle Desrosiers

A crafty player with an average of 20 yards per catch, indicating her ability to exploit gaps in the defense and draw attention from the quarterback.

Les P’tites Miettes: Erika Roussel

Currently leading in offensive and defensive stats, she is also a reliable option for red zone plays.

Les Boys: Emile Lussier

Likely the primary target for this team, leading in both yardage and targets. Covering her will put pressure on the quarterback to find alternative options.

Wildcats: Noémie Thibault

Consistently involved in tackling players and receiving the ball frequently.

A-TOWN: Maïka Pereira

Another receiver who receives many targets from her quarterback. Covering her effectively will force the quarterback to make alternative reads or throw elsewhere on the field, potentially leading to turnovers.
