Week 4
Weekly Storylines
Mengoose upset LPC jr
Mengoose with a huge upset win versus Les Petites Carrottes in week 3. A close 19-18 win over last weeks #1 ranked team. Mengoose still with a QB carousel haven’t been able to have a consistent starter in three weeks but still managed to get the job done with a two Qb system. Both Alexandre Bordeleau and Alex Papineau threw over 10 passes but still their offence wasn’t exactly moving as both Qbs combined for 120 yards 3 tds and 3 turnovers. Thats what makes this such a head scratched that LPC wasn’t able to score more then 18 points and get the victory. Turnovers was the theme of this game as even LPC’s qb Alexandre Manes also turned the ball over 3 times. Defences were strong in this game but Joe Morgese, super sub for Mengoose was the X-factor. Coming in to play for a team for the first time and he was their leading receiver and got in the endzone twice. Watch out….because Mengoose might just have gotten their swagger back.
Brewers fall to 0-4
A team that always seems to start off slow but slowly get into rhythm as the season progresses has not had the benefit of improving week to week. The biggest takeaway….a non-existent offence. In their first 2 games of the season the brewers failed to score just 1 point. It doesn’t matter how great your defence is, if your offence is unable to produce any kind of production. Jeffrey Lefebvre is the one under enter and i’m sure his decisions have not even great but it doesn’t seem like he has much help aside from Deven Glover. Less then 50% completion percentage and over 10 interceptions in only 3 games. Unfortunately for Brewers, it doesn’t look like it will get much Bettie and the have Notorious C.I.G and Win Diesel compel up in the next two weeks so this team could be staring at 0-6 and on the verge on playoff elimination before the season reaches its midpoint.
Game of the Week
A Clash of Undefeated’s: Team Sexy (3-0 vs. The Process (3-0)
A highly anticipated matchup between the undefeated Sexy and The Process is set to be a thrilling showdown in Week 4. Both teams have been dominant in their first three games, and the winner of this contest will solidify their position as a top contender in the division. Both teams have shown they can win and play solid football consistently and are looking to be in the discussion of top team in the division. Team Sexy is coming off a convincing 31-18 victory over the Parlay Tilters, while The Process secured a hard-fought 32-19 win against Show Me Them Td’s. The stakes are high for both teams as they look to maintain their perfect records and continue their climb up the standings. Both Qbs have played well in the front half of the season as they both have completed more then 55% of their passes and also know how to use their feet to escape pressure and don’t force the ball downfield when it isn’t necessary.
One player to watch closely in this game is wide receiver Sam Anastasopoulos for Team Sexy. He has been a force to be reckoned with, racking up 135 yards and three touchdowns in just two games. The Process defense will have their hands full trying to contain him, as they lack a true lockdown cornerback who can match his speed and agility. It will require a collective effort from the entire defense to slow down Anastasopoulos and limit his impact on the game. He is a red-zone threat just as much as he is a downfield option and that is what truly makes him hard to defend. He can kill you slowly with short plays and RAC and also go over the top and use his speed. He is a true game changer and Team Sexy should use him to his full potential.
Quarterback Johnathan Perez has been playing at a high level for The Process, with 10 touchdowns and only three interceptions. However, he cannot afford to turn the ball over in this crucial matchup. Perez will need to make smart decisions and continue to utilize his talented receiving corps, including Ariel Liberati and Noah Groper, who have been making plays after the catch.
This game promises to be a thrilling offensive battle between two high-powered teams. The winner will not only maintain their undefeated record but also send a strong message to the rest of the division. Expect a close contest that will likely be decided by a few key plays. Give me Team Sexy in a close and balanced battle. Team Sexy will be Unanimously Undefeated 28-27.
Power Rankings
1. Win Diesel 3-1
A new #1 ranked team after week 3 saw LPC jr take a upset loss. Win Diesel have been on a tear averaging over 28 points per game on offence. Although their only loss came to LPC I still think Win Diesel are the team to beat at this point of the season. William Sebag has been playing well for them and if he can continue to protect the ball, they will be top 3 team by season end.
2. Jagerbombers 2-1
Another great team that was one point shy of beating their rivals,Snowdon Deli Degens, and staying undefeated. But still this is a great team that can beat anyone in this division. Their chemistry, hustle and speed is unmatched and is a problem for a lot of teams.
3. Penetrators 2-0
Another game another win for Penetrators. Justin Goodman and Nicholas Fon have already connected for 5 TD’s showing they should be in the conversation for best QB-WR connection in tier 3. Their defence has also been playing superb as they have forced 5 INT’s and 2 sacks in only 2 games.
4. Les Petites Carottes JR 2-1-1
Dropping out of the top 3 after being #1 for all 3 weeks of this early season. A huge loss to mangoose is the reason for the drop and rightfully so. In 4 games they have tied one and lost one in games where I predicted them to win. They got back on track and got a big win again win Diesel but I’m going to need to see more consistency out of them.
5. Snowdon Deli Degens 3-2
Another team that I expect to be practically undefeated and expect to be more consistent. This team went on to beat a great Jagerbombers team but then take a 13 point loss to MOFOs. Adam Malinoff and company have been playing great offence but their defence has been allowing as many points as their offence has been able to score. Tier 3 is definitely stronger then Div D, but I’m still expecting more from this squad then a 6-4 record.
6. The Process 3-0
One of the only remains undefeated teams. While they haven’t faced fierce competition in Tier 3 yet, they have still been playing great football and I cannot ignore it. While their offence has been playing great, their defence has been laying stellar. Allowing an average of 12 points per game but the most impressive stat is the number of interceptions this defence has forced. 13 in 3 games. Thats right 13!! Unbelievable. Big game this week vs Team sexy….which will remain undefeated.
7. Bandits 2-0-1
Same record as last week and this team moves up by default. With a week 4 bye we won’t see this team out on the field this week but I expect the bandits to keep the wins rolling.
8. Team Sexy 3-0
A team I haven’t talked about yet but deserve to enter the top 10 after 3 strong wins. Sam Anastasopoulos had to step in at QB one week but that didn’t stop them from extending their win streak. His ability as a #1 receiver is complemented by Amine Encina as a 1-2 punch. Together they have combined for 38 targets, over 300 yards and 5 touchdowns.
9. Tune Squad 1-1
Benefitted with an easier schedule, I’m expecting TuneSquad to go on a little win streak here in the middle of the season as they face Parlay Tilters, Trapstars and Back shinobi who have a combined one sole win. TuneSquad should take advantage and put up some solid stats.
10. Team Ethnik 2-1
A team that has been on the hot seat here at #10 but I’m confident that this team belongs in the top 10 and can beat lots of teams in this division. Their one loss came against a great the process team and Benoit Lawler was not himself throwing a plethora of INT’s. Some lower end teams coming up on their schedule, so look for Team Ethnik to be lighting up the scoreboard in the coming weeks.
