Top 3 Receivers of Tier 2

Week 10

Whats up ladies and gents we have arrived at week 10, the final week of this Fall Cup regular season. The standings are about to take their final form as the remaining teams play their final game. Just a friendly reminder that everyone will have at least one playoff game in tier 2 and will all have a chance at claiming the trophy in a few weeks time. 6 games to be played in week 10 which will end Saturday Nov 11 in Brossard. There are still a few games that can shake up the standings so it will be very interesting to see how the final standings look heading into the playoffs. So without delay lets head into last weeks headlines and what Tier 2 has to offer here in week 10

Weekly Headlines

Down Goes Kiss My Inlaws

The biggest headline of the season came in week 9 where Ambush orchestrated a stunning upset, dealing a first and only loss of the regular season to the previously unbeaten Kiss My Inlaws. The final scoreline of 44-42 painted a vivid picture of the fierce back-and-forth battle that unfolded on the field. Ben McMahon, the commander of Ambush’s offense, turned in a performance for the ages. His arm was an instrument of destruction, amassing a staggering 225 yards and delivering an outstanding six touchdown. Each one a testament to his pinpoint accuracy and poise under pressure. Not a single interception to his stat line either. On the other side, Iggy Manzanedo, Kiss My Inlaws’ QB of the year candidate, who has used his touchdown total to 47, showcased his own brilliance. However, one crucial interception proved to be the game’s turning point. The pivotal difference came down to the conversion plays, where Ambush demonstrated their ability to convert on 2 point plays. They managed to convert four out of six attempts. Meanwhile, Kiss My Inlaws, while valiant, fell just shy, converting three out of six for two crucial points. Also, the absence of punts in this high-stakes battle spoke volumes about the confidence and calculated risks taken by both teams. Every possession was crucial to this win and their confidence in their offences was brought to the fore front. Ambush’s triumph will not go unnoticed as they proved that KMI are beatable. Meanwhile, Kiss My Inlaws, while tasting defeat, will emerge from this encounter as an even hungrier force.

Beer Belly Brigade hold their own fate

Beer Belly Brigade can secure the final spot in the Tier 2 top bracket playoffs. A win against EZW would put their record at 5-3 and make it impossible for The Stoics to finish with a better record then them. But EZW won’t just let them have a win, they’ll need a big showing if they want to take down EZW who have only 1 loss this season…but more on that later. The Stoics still have a good opportunity to find themselves in the top bracket after week 10 if they take care of business against That’s what she said. If they are able to secure a win and bring their record up to 4-3-1, a Beer Belly Brigade loss to EZW would give them #8 seed.

Game of the Week

Beer Belly Brigade (4-3) vs. EZW (6-1)

As the regular season draws to its final clashes, the last matchup of the regular season for tier 2 will be between Beer Belly Brigade (4-3) and EZW (6-1). This one promises to be a hype contest with big playoff implications hanging in the balance. For the Beer Belly Brigade, this game holds the key to their postseason fate; a victory here would secure their spot as the #8 seed and grant them entry into the top playoff bracket. A win for EZW would put them in a 3 way tie for first place assuming Dime and Bougie would also make it to 7-1. Standing in Beer Belly Brigade’s way is a top opponent in EZW, a championship contender with only one loss on their record. Much of EZW’s success can be attributed to the stellar play of their quarterback, Jeremy White. With an impressive 38 touchdowns and a mere 2 interceptions, White has operated the offense with surgical precision, establishing himself as a threat every time he touches the field. For the Beer Belly Brigade, the challenge is clear: slowing down EZW’s high-octane offense. With only two sacks to their credit this season, the Brigade’s rushers must rise to the occasion and disrupt White’s rhythm. Getting to White and forcing 3rd and 4th and long situations will be crucial in their quest to stifle the EZW offence. On the flip side, White has been sacked 20 times this season, presenting an opportunity for the Beer Belly Brigade to accumulate sacks and disrupt the EZW offensive flow. A strong effort from their rusher could be the key to turning the tide in this matchup. Beer Belly Brigade will also have to be on point on offence like they have been over the last 3 weeks. In 3 weeks their offence has scored 135 points, which calculates to a clean 45 points per game. This is exactly the output their team will need if they want to come out of this one victorious. Beer Belly Brigade find themselves at a pivotal juncture, with their playoff destiny in their hands. Can they rise to the occasion and secure their spot in the upper bracket, or will EZW’s championship pedigree prove too much to overcome? With playoff implications hanging in the balance, this matchup promises to be a showcase of FPF at its most competitive. Don’t miss a moment of the action as these two teams leave it all on the field in pursuit of victory.

Top 3 WR of tier 2

To start this one off I would just like to highlight the way my rankings are created. Like everyone, I like my receivers to be fast, good at creating separation and great making players miss after the catch. The way I compiled this top 3 list was based on 3 things. 1. The most important and relevant of them all, the stats provided through 7-8 games during this fall season. Football is absolutely a what have you done for me lately type of sport and thats exactly what I’m looking for. 2. How successful your team has been while you have been the top guy on your offence/ you QB’s go to guy. Its nice to put up stats and have a great statistical year, but if your QB is just force feeding you targets and your team isn’t able to get wins as a result, I don’t think you’re contributions should mean all that much. 3. The overall skillset of the player and their FPF resume. Its very possible for a player to not be top 5 in all stat categories and still be considered a top 5 player in the division. The eye test is something that tells a lot in flag football .

  1. Vincent Benjamin: Kiss My Inlaws

Vincent Benjamin has been nothing short of exceptional for Kiss My Inlaws throughout the season, contributing significantly to their impressive 7-1 record. While he may not fit the stereotype of a physically dominant player, Benjamin’s skill set speaks for itself. His performance on the field has been nothing short of exemplary, and his impact on Kiss My Inlaws’ offensive production cannot be overstated. Benjamin’s impressive stat line of 37 receptions on 48 targets showcases his remarkable ability to consistently come down with the football. He has proven time and again to be a reliable target for his quarterback Iggy, displaying sure-handedness and an uncanny knack for tracking and catching the ball. Amassing 357 yards receiving, Benjamin’s contributions extend far beyond just receptions for his team as he leads them in yardage. His yardage total reflects his ability gaining crucial yardage after the catch, making him a threat in open field situations. Furthermore, his league-leading 18 touchdowns stand as a testament to his impact in the red zone, where he excels at finding separation and capitalizing on scoring opportunities. What sets Benjamin apart is his versatility. He possesses the ability to make contested catches, with a blend of strength and size. At the same time, he can use his speed to burn defenders and create separation. This combination of skills makes him a dynamic threat, capable of making plays in a variety of situations. Vincent Benjamin’s exceptional performance this season has solidified his status as a standout receiver in the league making him a favourite for receiver of the year. His contributions have been instrumental in Kiss My Inlaws’ offensive success and have been for quite some time now. His ability to consistently produce highlights year after tear shows his importance to the team’s overall performance.

2. Tristan Fiske-Casault- Les Potes a Bessette

Proven to be a true game-changer for his team. His statistics speak volumes about his ability on the field. In only 6 games Tristan Fiske-Casault has caught 34 passes on 43 targets, 512 yards and 15 touchdowns. #3 in the league in total receiving yards with significantly less targets then the two leaders in-front of him.  Fiske-Casault’s performance is nothing short of extraordinary, especially considering he’s managed to achieve these numbers in fewer games than some of his counterparts. His ability to consistently make big plays and step up when his team needs a spark is a testament to his exceptional talent and determination. Fiske-Casault’s ranking as #3 in the league for total receiving yards, despite having significantly fewer targets demonstrates his explosive big-play potential. He has a knack for turning routine plays into game-changing moments, making him a true asset to his team’s offense. When the game is on the line, Tristan Fiske-Casault is the player his team turns to. His reliability and ability to come through in crucial moments have earned him the status of a go-to receiver. Whether it’s a critical third down or a game-deciding drive, Fiske-Casault has proven time and again that he can be counted on. Fiske-Casault’s unique combination of size and speed makes him a nightmare for defenders. His ability to use his physicality to create separation and make contested catches sets him apart as a true force on the field. Defenders struggle to match up against his blend of strength and agility. Although his team only sits at 3-5 his absence is the reason for a loss or two on their schedule. Their record is 3-3 with him in the lineup and look out for him and Les Potes a Bessette to make a run in the lower bracket.

3. Nirosh Suresh- Still C.R.A

41 catches on 66 targets, 714 yards and 17 touchdowns. I struggles a little with this one as Still C.R.A are only 1-7 and have been a disappointment here in tier 2. But Nirosh Suresh’s contributions and season stats are way to good for me to ignore. Nirosh is definitely on the smaller size compared to these other 2 receivers mentioned but hasn’t mattered at any point of his career. Nirosh leads the division in yardage with 714 yards in 8 games. He has been targeted more then every single receiver in tier 2 apart from one. So he is given the opportunity to produce more then anyone. But still Nirosh’s ability to get open when defences know he will be the focal point of the offence is bar-none. His run after he catch is where he finds most of his yards as he is super quick and can make anyone miss. Nirosh has also found the end-zone a whopping 17 times and has really carried this offence. With only 1 All-star to his name Suresh will look to change that number over the next few seasons as I believe he has really caught his stride this season and has become Ryan Karouf’s #1 guy.
