Tier 4 Spotlight: Record-Breaking Performance and Predictions for QBOY and OPOY
Andrew Steinberg’s season has been nothing short of historic. He’s on pace to shatter the single-season receiving yards record, currently set at 1,034 yards for men’s divisions or 1,258 yards including junior divisions, and he’s closing in on the single-season receiving touchdown record of 35 across all divisions. With 27 touchdowns to date, he’s already tied for 4th all-time in any division for a single season—just 8 touchdowns shy of the all-time mark.
And if that’s not impressive enough, he’s already etched his name into the record books for single-game achievements, posting 234 receiving yards—the most in a single game across all men’s divisions—and he tied the all-time record in any division with 7 receiving touchdowns in one game. Now that’s dominance.
PLAYER | REC | TGT | YDS | TD |
---|---|---|---|---|
Andrew Steinberg | 11 | 16 | 234 | 7 |
If he breaks the single season records, it’ll be in just 9 games, having already missed one game this season. Let’s hope that missed game was worth it because, wow, what a season we’re witnessing! Regardless of division or competition level, putting up numbers like these takes skill, experience, durability, and a touch of magic.
OPOY
Current Favourite: Andrew Steinberg – Mean Machines
Andrew Steinberg has been nothing short of a highlight reel for the Mean Machines, his per-game averages make him a clear frontrunner: he’s logging 133.3 yards and close to 4 touchdowns each game. As it stands, it is impossible for anyone to catch him for OPOY.
Per Game Breakdown:
- Yards/Game: 133.3
- Touchdowns/Game: 3.9
Stats:
- Games Played: 7
- Receptions: 67

Top Challenger: Andrew Poitras – Les Flagouilleurs
Andrew Poitras has been a deep-ball dynamo for Les Flagouilleurs, averaging 17.8 yards per reception. With 676 yards and 19 touchdowns over nine games, he’s proven himself as a big-play threat. Poitras’ efficiency and knack for finding the end zone make him a contender for OPOY. Unfortunately, with only one regular season game left for Poitras, it is impossible to catch up to Steinberg’s record-breaking season. Nonetheless, he should be incredibly proud of his first season in FPF, and his future looks promising.
Per Game Breakdown:
- Yards/Game: 75.1
- Touchdowns/Game: 2.1
Stats:
- Games Played: 9
- Receptions: 38

Dark Horse: AJ Zeppetelli – Big Fat Panini
AJ Zeppetelli brings unique combination of volume and efficiency, with 550 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns across just seven games. Although his average of 10.8 yards per catch is lower than some other candidates, Zeppetelli’s ability to move the chains and produce regularly puts him in contention. He’s reliable and productive, with a solid 7.3 receptions per game, making him one of the more consistent weapons in the league. He can likely overtake Poitras as the top challenger for the award, but catching Steinberg is out of reach.
Per Game Breakdown:
- Yards/Game: 78.6
- Touchdowns/Game: 2.3
Stats:
- Games Played: 7
- Receptions: 51
- Targets: 61

QBOY
Current Favourite: Jeremy Steinberg – Mean Machines
With eight games under his belt, Steinberg’s 1,698 yards and 43 touchdowns set the bar. His strong completion rate of 66.5% make him not only consistent but also effective in moving the chains. Steinberg has been reliable week in and week out, maintaining his QB rating of 110.4. He has proven to be a high-risk, high-reward player, leading the league in total yards and touchdowns; however, he also averages being intercepted 1.1 times and is sacked 1.6 times per game. As it stands, Steinberg has set a standard that challengers with fewer games will need to exceed on a per-game basis to catch him.
Per Game Breakdown:
- Total Yards/Game: 212.3
- Total Touchdowns/Game: 5.4
- QB Rating: 110.4
Stats:
- Games Played: 8
- Pass Attempts: 200
- Completions: 133
- Total Yards: 1,698
- Total Touchdowns: 43
- Interceptions: 9
- Sacks: 13
- Completion %: 66.5%
Top Threat: Kyle Folkerson – Salt’s n a Pepper
In terms of per-game impact, Kyle Folkerson has been electric while taking care of the football. With just seven games played, he’s managed to throw 35 touchdowns and keep his interception count at a minimal 3 all season. His 14.5 yards per pass is impressive, giving him the highest QB rating in the division at 117.0. If Folkerson can increase his total yards/game and completion % while maintaining his averages in other categories over his last few games, he could not only close the gap but potentially overtake Steinberg as the new favourite for the QBOY award.
Per Game Breakdown:
- Total Yards/Game: 175.6
- Total Touchdowns/Game: 5.0
- QB Rating: 117.0
Stats:
- Games Played: 7
- Pass Attempts: 140
- Completions: 82
- Total Yards: 1,229
- Total Touchdowns: 35
- Interceptions: 3
- Sacks: 3
- Completion %: 58.6%
Solid Contender: Alex Poitras – Les Flagouilleurs
Poitras holds the top spot in passing yards at 1,550 across nine games played, demonstrating his ability to sustain his game at a high level over the course of a long season. However, with more games played, Poitras’ per-game numbers are a bit lower than Steinberg’s and Folkerson’s, putting him slightly behind. Considering this is his first season in FPF and he is already being considered for Quarterback of the Year, the sky is the limit for him. Quarterback is the most challenging position to step into, yet he has managed to put up impressive numbers. It’s unclear if he has prior flag football experience in another league or if his background is solely in tackle football, but it’s evident that he has a strong ability to throw the football.
Per Game Breakdown:
- Total Yards/Game: 185.2
- Total Touchdowns/Game: 4.4
- QB Rating: 108.2
Stats:
