Things heat up in CO-ED 3! Week 9 in the Rear view, looking straight into Week 10!
Now that the Mid Season Report Cards are in the rear view mirror, let’s blaze forward and see what’s been going on in CO-ED 3! Playoffs are right around the corner and if you haven’t checked it out already, FPF has already released an article covering the layout and weeks of the playoffs this season. For those of you who are wondering, the dates for CO-ED 3 seem to be as follows:
Divisional Round – April 14
Quarter Final Round – April 21
Semi Final Round – April 28
Final Round – May 5
Only 1 team will be eliminated and denied entry to the postseason, so it’s not so much a race to the top as it is a fight out of the bottom. Playoffs are 1 and done elimination style! No mistakes, you have to bring your A game every play, let alone every game. Every team and player will get tested on how well they can do under pressure, while putting everything they’ve learned so far into practice!
Let’s finish up these team reviews and get started on our playoff predictions and award winners! I have been gone for a few weeks, so will have a lot of ground to cover! Bear with me and enjoy your weekly read of CO-ED 3:

FROM THE HORSE’S MOUTH:
- Oh! How the mighty have fallen! BLOCK PARTY took an unfortunate loss (forfeit) against ECLIPSE despite winning the game 25-6. Then they lost to a strong AIGRE-DOUX who are now on a 3 game win streak! Finally able to take down MICHAEL SCOTT’S TOTS who had 3rd string QB – ME, throwing for them this week, they were able to stop the bleeding and stabilize. Their next 3 games consist of #1 team: AT LEAST WE TRIED, 5-game win streak and top scoring team of the Division: HALF N’ HALF, and BANDIT(E) – who have only lost 1 game so far against HNH and have top 5 QB, Xavier Parent, pushing them onwards. BLOCK PARTY has their work cut out for them! If they aren’t careful, they might find themselves losing out the remainder of their schedule!
- What a turn around for HALF N’ HALF! They lost their first 2 games trying to settle into who would be their QB, and BAM, out of nowhere comes Gabriel Poulin – FPF Rookie extraordinaire! Gabriel has put up stats in 5 games that other QBs are still trying to do in 6 or 7 games! He has the highest completion % and the most TDs in the division so far, which has allowed his team to shine. Camille Ste-Marie is able to show off her talent as the All-Star target we know she is. Camille, Malakai Roach, and Max Thompson, are all carrying 200+ yards receiving. The ball is being spread so much that most receivers have 4+ TDs. This team has become a fine-tuned machine as the season progresses and now has the chance to jump the #1 and #2 seed before going into the playoffs!
- I’m not sure what was in the water during Week 7, but Holy Guacamole! We saw 2 teams win by 51 points… 50+ scores aren’t common in FPF, or so I thought. They have been popping up more frequently, but to have 2 in the same week feels extremely special! BANDIT(E) were able to completely shut out SHOW ME YOUR TDS: 51-0, while AT LEAST WE TRIED were once again able to succeed, winning over ECLIPSE, 57-6. And if that wasn’t enough, HALF N’ HALF were able to put up 58 points this past weekend! Does this spell trouble for teams who can’t put up 40+ points a game all of a sudden!?
- Despite being in the Elimination Zone, Flamingos have 5 games left to play, while most other teams only have 3-4. Right now, 2 wins OR 1 win and 1 tie, will get them out of danger. For the other teams that are sitting at 2 wins – ECLIPSE, PERFECT STRANGERS, DREAMKILLERS, and P’TITS VITES – 2 wins may be enough to stay safe, but each of them will want to try and sneak out at least 1 more win to ensure that they don’t get bumped lower. Anything can happen in the next 5 weeks!
- BANDIT(E) have only allowed 72 points in 5 games (an average of 2 TDs a game), which makes them the #2 defense, and as I said in the Report Card: They will run the gauntlet of the top 3 teams in their next 5 games. I’m always ranting and raving about teams like BLOCK PARTY, THUNDER VILLAINS, and AT LEAST WE TRIED, but BANDIT(E) may be the sneaky underdog here! Xavier Parent is tearing it up as a rookie QB in FPF and finds himself in the top 5 QBs of the division, but with receivers such as Jules Fortin, Élodie Martel, and Emmanuelle Desroches, how can he not be?! Elodie and Emmanuelle have put up the same number of TDs as Vincent Richard and Christophe Desroches respectively, which means Xavier has no shortage of viable targets! I’m a tad worried about having to face them this week…
- AIGRE-DOUX struggled against P’TITS VITES last week and were barely able to outscore their opponents thanks to a convert and a PICK-6 (Great Job Julien Proulx!). With a tough game against ECLIPSE this week, AIGRE-DOUX will need to show up in full force if they want to win out the remainder of their season! I could really see this team finishing 8-2 or 7-3, but a tough game against the VILLAINS at the end of the season could spoil their chances.
- Everybody stop what you’re doing. ECLIPSE took on DREAMKILLERS last week and as a paying man, I would have bet my lucky dollar that ECLIPSE was taking the win, despite Dov Vas missing from action! DREAMKILLERS now had to deal with experienced FPF QB Tony Lalla now, but also had to deal with Kevin Wyeth showing up in CO-ED 3! Somehow, the KILLERS did it! Winning 25-24, ECLIPSE now finds themselves dropped to 9th place and jumped by DREAMKILLERS! Will this breathe new life into DREAMKILLERS and have them finishing 5-5 or better!?
- The Award race is heating up! If you’re like me, you spend your spare time scrolling the Player Stats page on FPF and see how I rank up to the rest of the division. If you’re NOT like me and you don’t constantly think of FPF stats, then look away!! Once you get the taste of stats… nothing will be able to save you. For those that are already obsessed – Let’s just take a quick look at who may be competing for some awards IN MY OPINION! *FPF does not and will not ever endorse Zack’s Award Opinions. They are not Fact, merely speculation* Let’s Go:
QB: The race is heating up! Gabriel Poulin is at the top of the charts with 29 total TDs in 5 games played! (He played QB 5/7 games). Julien Proulx has 26 in 6 games, while Darryl Dorcely and Xavier Parent both have 25 TDs in 5 games! It is anybody’s game for QB of the year!
WR: This will be an interesting award due to how many candidates there are among the different categories! Reka Sivasubramaniyam is tied with Jérémi Thompson OReilly for most targets (though Jérémi currently leads the league in TD’s). Camille Ste-Marie is rocketing to the top of the charts with 278 yards receiving, while Marc Antoine Martin, Justine Daviau, and Jules Fortin have been having near perfect receiving seasons! I’d wager that because of the lead in Targets, TD’s and Yards, Jeremi will be the winner of this year’s award, however, there are still games left to play and TDs left to be scored! Don’t give up!
Defense: I’m going to skip over Jeremi Thompson OReilly because at this point, maybe he should just win 2-Way Player of the Year, lol. First off, I’m a sucker for PICK-6’s and Mikael Williams-Claudio currently has 3 of them, while at least 4 other players have 2. Just as Gabriel Poulin is putting up TDs, he is also trying to prevent them and has come away with 5 INTs, 3 PDs, and 16 Tackles; A show stopping performance on defense! This is all while Esther Morin-Struthers and Jenna Araujo are rocking 20+ tackles at the top of the division! Despite my love for PICK-6’s, if Esther Morin-Struthers can get a few more INTs before the season finishes, she would be my pick for Defensive Player of the year.
Rusher: My Favorite position of FPF! Without a good rusher, the opposing offense will have all the time in the world to break into backyard football style and run all over you. I always think that the benchmark for a rusher should be an average of at least 1 sack per game – some games you won’t get any and others you may get 2-3. However, sometimes the mark of a good rusher can’t actually be seen. Unlike offense, for rushers, the absence of stats can sometimes indicate a great rushing performance as well! I won’t be diving too in depth to see who ISN’T running, but shout out to the unsung heroes of FPF! Currently at the top of the division is Cyrill Jamal Belfort! Although both Cyril and I are tied in the lead with 9 sacks each, he was able to do so in 6 games as opposed to my 7, which I think might give him a slight edge. And If that wasn’t enough, Alexia Roy has earned herself 7 sacks in 6 games, while Camille Ste-Marie is just ahead of her with 8 sacks in 7 games. It really is anybody’s award to win as long as the ratio’s hold up until the end of the season. I think whoever wins the division will probably need 13-15 sacks! Good Luck!

A QUICK GLANCE AT THE COMPETITION:
THUNDER VILLAINS
Oh boy! The great THUNDER(ers) have been around in CO-ED since Spring of 2023 and had a fantastic season – going 8-2 and all the way to the Finals! QB Terry Babalis is back from injury and has split his thunder between the VILLAINS in CO–ED and the BUDDIES in Div 5A! Terry has picked up some rushing yards and a rushing TD, showing he is indeed slowly becoming more and more mobile, but does not actually need to run when he is surrounded by great receivers like: Jérémi Thompson OReilly, who is currently leading the Division as receiver (and defense for that matter). It’s apparent that Terry has found his partner in crime since Jérémi accounts for 10 of the 18 TDs Terry has thrown, and the next closest receiver has 2 TDs. However, that is not to say that the other receivers are unreliable! Au Contraire! Roxanne Roy has been targeted 29 times and has a 66.67% catch rate with 2 TDs, which is almost point for point what Samuel Thompson OReilly is putting up. And then we have Kayla Gauthier, who has more yards than both of them and is as sure-handed as they come!
Halfway through the season their offense is looking great! Sitting 4-1, putting up around 30 points a game, they are still trying to consistently keep teams to 3 TDs max! They have Tackle MACHINE in Jenna Araujo who also has 2 sacks, closely followed by Samuel Thompson OReilly and then Isabelle Poirier. But again, only Jérémi is showing BIG defensive numbers like a PICK-6. What will happen when he misses a game? As much as I like the direction this team is headed in with all it’s wins, I am worried what will happen in the playoffs when teams start to force the VILLAINS to change their game plan!
Predictions: 7-3
