The War Room (D3) – Week 7

The DIV 3 FPF Teams:

Due to a bye week, not much has happened in division three. So I will use this week’s article to announce my picks for my “All FPF team” for division three. These are not necessarily my all star selections but a compilation of players who, in my opinion deserve a ton of credit (not necessarily based on statistics). So without further ado, enjoy…

1st Team ALL FPF:

OFFENSE:

Quarterback: Gino Di Fazio (D-BOYS), the (emperor) man is the most consistent QB from year to year in division three. He puts up gaudy stats (1213 yards, 32 Tds) and always keeps his team in contention. He has a knack for choking in the playoffs, but nonetheless he is the best QB for production in division three.

Receivers:

1. Godfrey Abu (AMB EAGLES), simply a beast when he has the football in his hands. He possesses great athletic ability, an aggressive attitude and a sheer determination to impose his will on defenders. He is tied for the lead in TD’s with 14 through 6 games.

2. Louis Richard (VPC), the man who completes Robbie Robinson. He is the go-to threat for VPC and an overall great athlete. Armed with an innate ability to make good catches and gain separation, its no doubt he is tied with Abu for the Td lead in division three.

3. Jason Smith (GPK), the league leader in receiving yards. While Stagg is having an excellent season for GPK, the real bright spot is the evolution of Smith as a top tier receiver. He has risen up in recent weeks, to dominate zone coverage and provide a good target for his improving QB.

4. Kevin Challenger (VR6), is simply the best overall talent in division three. While he probably should not be playing in division three considering he played with Matt Ryan at Boston College and is a CFL receiver, he does deserve credit for the contribution he has made to his VR6.

Center:

Paul Lapierre (Lazy Boys), whether he is lined up at receiver or center, he is a mammoth of a man. His long reach, bruising nature and football awareness make him the perfect utility player. He might look like a bulky version of the hulk, but I can assure you, his skill is second to none at center.

DEFENSE:

1. Brandon Pierre (DK): He leads the league in sacks and is a huge reason for his team’s defensive success. He is fast and agile, a general pain in the buttocks for opposing QBs.

2. Robbie Robinson (VPC): He could have easily made it as QB candidate, but figured to put him as the top safety in division three. He has solidified the deep half of the Hurricanes for a few seasons, and his dominance is only multiplied when playing in division three. He is also the leader in my MVP race.

3. Cliff Gerville (Skillz): Although I have not fully scouted his team due to their poor success, he has been one of the few bright spots on a rather dismal season for Skillz. Second in the league in interceptions, he is slowly garnering a reputation for being a person to stay away from on defense.

4. Nelson Yeboh (THE U): Also a newer name to the FPF circuit, he is a consistent playmaker on both sides of the ball. He still has a ways to go before he is considered an elite defender, but upper division players may be wondering what he can offer their team in seasons to come.

5. Marc Champangnie (DBOYS): Although he only joined a team late, he is such a big X-factor that he must be included on this list. Perhaps, one of the top five players in all of FPF, he is up there with Andre Knights in terms of All World safeties. He has a presence in the secondary that no QB should ignore.

6. David Daoust (PRIMETIME): He might not have the greatest stats in the league, but he does possess the versatility to be a great player in any role. He is consistent and a developing talent.
