The Truth: Division 1 and 2 Preview

Ladies and Gents, at last we will be blessed with some flag football. I know you are all itching to get back on the field, so I figured I’d give you a little added motivation to elevate everyone’s game this weekend. To ensure the fire is lit, I will go about my business not trying to make friends but rather say what some won’t. I am sure that I will sometimes be wrong in my judgment, but I will make sure that’s not often the case. I spend a lot of time watching your games to assure the words written in these articles are backed by a strong foundation of knowledge! If we have any rookies joining us, I have but two words of advice: Man up! The top two divisions welcome you with open arms.

Quick thoughts

-I have to say I love the teams that have registered this year in Division one. I think for the first time in a long time we have finally reached an adequate number of strong teams in our top division.

-This season will not be about two teams dominating the bottom feeders. I look forward to seeing the upsets on the field.

-Everyone was so flustered by the idea of a cap in Division one. I don’t see anyone’s roster having changed. I think what the cap has done is make sure the strong teams remain stagnant with their players. You should hope the ratings of your players do not go up, or you will be forced to make some difficult decisions. Basically the cap allows others to reach the level these teams have already reached, meanwhile forcing them to remain at that level.

-Terror Squad going into Division 2 was a smart move. I think they will enjoy themselves a lot more there and perhaps win another championship!

-DK did some serious off-season work. Picking up Nicolas Arsenault-Hum, Patrick Chenard, Matt Bond and Robby Robinson is huge. They will have very little difficulty matching up against strong teams.

-Montreal’s Finest must be fuming with rage after the defeat they suffered this summer at the hands of D-Boys. I look forward to their week 3 match up!

I feel the hate already growing towards me. So be it, hate it or embrace it. Use it or let it mold you into nothing. The only thing that matters is the standings at the end of the season. The ones you see here are just an image in my imagination. Hopefully for some of you I am very wrong in imagining such regular season records. For the others who find themselves at the top of my list, I hope you will prove me right. The parity we find in both these divisions is bar none better than ever.
