The Joint Article

All this anticipation…!

We’ve promised a joint article a few weeks ago and for reasons we will not disclose, as some of you may already know, it’s been slightly delayed.

Wait no further, it is upon us.

For those of you who were eager to read our dumb questions and/or answers, feel free to do so and keep commenting and letting us know what you think. After all, we do this for you.

As usual, since I asked the 5 questions, my answers will remain in normal print while GM’s answers will be italic

Without further ado,

  1. We no longer have an undefeated team, but we still have a winless team. Is this how you imagined it to pan out ?

Earlier this season I’ve mentioned how I expected no teams to go undefeated due to D4’s parity, but I did foresee a team (amongst Conference A East) that would go winless. I wasn’t certain whether it’d be Local 89ers or Justice League and thus far I’ve been pretty spot on. With a few tough matches coming up for Justice League, I’m sad to say it’s panning out the way I’ve foreseen it.

We knew early-on that the division itself was almost divided into three tiers: the very strong, the bulk of the teams, and the teams that would struggle. I’m super happy that we don’t have any undefeated teams, as it speaks volumes to the parity, but it is always rough to see a team go winless.

  1. Biggest surprise of week 7 : Zoo over Shmoney, Show me your TDs over TrapStars, 69ers over 6Fast, the Dans over Grip n Rip or CREAM Team’s forfeit ?

I hate to agree with GM, so I’ll try not to, but he’s sorta right. CREAM Team’s forfeit is a surprise here. Week 7, you grabbed two higher division players and didn’t bother to check ratings / cap; it’s your fault. Anyhow, I’d say the Dans’ win over Grip n Rip puzzles me the most.

I was expecting Grip n Rip’s defense to give The Infamous Dans a problem on offense and force Taylor into throwing bad decisions which doesn’t really occur. Dans shutdown Grip n Rip’s offense and came out with a brilliant win. I’m surprised and I guess I might have underrated the Dans once again.

I’d have to tie this to the last question. If we have an Any Given Sunday (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday) mentality where any team can step up and surprise, I guess that it would have to be the CREAM Team forfeit. We’re late into the season, typically when this happens the least. Not only have other teams seen it happen, it’s mentioned a lot early on in the season, at the captains’ meeting and via email. Plus, odds are most are aware of their rating and should let the captain know so that they don’t go over it.

  1. Which of the following teams would make the tastiest meal : Lobster Dinner, Recipe 4 Disaster, Crisp or CREAM Team ?

I’m a huge lobster fan so this is a no-brainer for me. CREAM Team clearly has nothing to do with sauces, so this ain’t an avenue for me, Recipe 4 Disaster could be either epic or, well, a straight-up disaster which I could kind of enjoy. I mean, V Télé has this Recettes Pompettes show, we could really go anywhere from this point on. Crisp could be a way to cook duck, which sounds neat, but I’d take the safe road here and go for the Lobster Dinner.

I’m going to have to go with Lobster Dinner. Recipe 4 Disaster sounds like a bathroom mishap waiting to happen, Crisp has potential to be good but is probably overcooked and charred, and CREAM team can either be a sauce or…unpleasantness. So Lobster is the safe bet and the tastiest meal!

  1. 12 Teams per conference make the playoffs (Top 4 gets byes). Name them.

*Bold are the divisional leaders that get byes.

Conference A :Shmoney, CREAM Team, Crisp, 6 Fast Guys Plus Ryan, Coyotes, 69ers, Ghosts, Punt Returners, Recipe 4 Disaster, ZOO, TrapStars, Team Ethnik

Conference B : Maloudes, Marco in the Middle, Grip n Rip, Shamrocks, Game Changers, Mustangs DG, Backyard Bullies, Two and a half Dans, A-Squad, Dragons, Show me your TDs, Bruthers.

Conference A: Shmoney, Crisp, 6 Fast Guys plus Ryan, CREAM Team, Coyotes, 69ers, Recipe 4 Disaster, Punt Returners, Team Ethnik, Ghosts, ZOO, Trapstars

Conference B: Game Changers, Grip n Rip, Shamrocks, Marco in the Middle, Maloudes, Backyard Bullies, Two and a Half Dans, Mustangs DG, Show Me Your TDs, A-Squad, Dragons, Playground

  1. Who’s your pick to win it all this season ?

I’ve been high on 6 Fast Guys Plus Ryan since Day 1 and I’ll stick with them to make a run all the way to the ‘ship once again. 6Fast will represent Conference A against Game Changers.

I’m going to take the easy way out here and not name drop anyone a) because of how close it is and b) because I don’t want to name drop Simon’s team
