The Final Stretch: DIV 6A

NATIONAL FLAG RANKING
As flag football continues to surge in popularity across Canada, one of the most anticipated events of the spring calendar is just around the corner.
From May 9–11, Concordia University Stadium in Montreal will play host to the 2025 National Flag Ranking 5v5 Flag Football Tournament — a marquee event bringing together multiple talent levels from across the country in what promises to be a weekend of high-intensity competition and community celebration.
Divisions for All Ages and Levels
The tournament features a wide range of divisions catering to youth and adult players alike. For younger participants, co-ed brackets include 10U through 16U, with additional girls-only categories at each age level. Adult divisions include Men’s Pro, Men’s Gauntlet (with tiered skill levels), University, Ladies Only, and Co-Ed/Mixed, where teams must field at least two female players at all times.
The format guarantees every team at least four games — three pool play matchups followed by a single-elimination playoff bracket. Games are fast-paced, with 24-minute run time clocks and just one minute for halftime. Adult games will be played Friday and Saturday evenings, while youth games run Saturday and Sunday during daytime hours.
Organizers are clear that division sizes are capped. Once filled, additional teams will be placed on a waitlist. Early registration is strongly encouraged.
Hardware and Cash on the Line
In addition to competition, teams will be playing for prizes. Champions in the Men’s Pro Division will earn a $1,500 cash prize. Other adult divisions, including University, Ladies Only, Gauntlet, and Mixed, will see $500 cash prizes awarded to winning teams. Youth division champions will also receive rings.
A Weekend Worth the Trip
With the tournament taking place in the heart of Montreal, teams are encouraged to treat the event as a full-team experience. For many squads outside of the city, this tournament presents an opportunity to blend competition with camaraderie — and enjoy the sights, culture, and food of Montreal along the way.
Registration Now Open
The entry fee for teams is $375 CAD, with rosters capped at 12 players and 2 coaches. Teams must carry a minimum of six players to be eligible. Registration is available now at NationalFlagRanking.com.
Youth divisions will require age verification, and any attempts at roster manipulation will be met with strict disciplinary action. National Flag Ranking has emphasized its commitment to fair play and competitive integrity across all divisions.
Division 6A
Playoff Picture
Currently, the top of the standings features a tight three-way race between 90’s Classics (8-1-1), Lvl Jacboys (8-1), and Chomedey Chodes (8-2). These squads have separated themselves from the pack with great quarterback play, well-rounded rosters, and dominant point differentials. McGill Swim Team (6-3) rounds out the top four, positioned to claim the final first-round bye should they close out strong.
In the middle tier, Swiffer WetJets and Angry Birds (both 6-4) are joined by Gold Rush, TEAM V, and The Creamsicles — all holding five wins. Scumbags (5-5) and TD Brudders (4-5-1) remain on thin ice, while Vdb Crescent (4-6) and RedZone Buzz (4-5) are scrapping to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Quarterbacks win chamionships
At the heart of every contender is a quarterback, and this season is no different.
Leading the charge is Kyle Pedvis of TEAM V, who has been nothing short of sensational. In just seven games, Pedvis has thrown for 1,351 yards, 37 touchdowns, and only six interceptions, completing over 68% of his passes. His poise and deep-ball accuracy have made TEAM V a dark horse contender, and his 115.6 quarterback rating leads the division.
Jamie Ojeaha of 90’s Classics has been equally impressive, combining 1,138 passing yards and 33 touchdowns with 346 rushing yards and four scores on the ground. His dual-threat ability is a nightmare for defenses and a key reason why 90’s Classics sit atop the standings.
Meanwhile, Matthew Bottazzi of Chomedey Chodes continues to solidify himself as one of the league’s most dangerous all-around weapons. Bottazzi has thrown 33 touchdown passes and rushed for 435 yards.
Matthew Petropoulos (Lvl Jacboys), Domenico Manno (Angry Birds), and Guillaume Piche (The Creamsicles) are among the names keeping their teams in contention with high level play.
Playmakers
No one has been more dominant than Jonathan Bottazzi of Chomedey Chodes, who leads the league in receptions (57), yards (605), and touchdowns (18). His crisp routes and ability to separate in the red zone make him the divisions most dangerous receiver. Lining up opposite him, teammate Brock Zwicker has added 278 yards and five scores, giving Chodes one of the deepest receiving corps.
Tim Horner of TEAM V has kept up with Bottazzi with 577 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns of his own. Alongside receiver Declan Montague (330 yards, 8 TDs), TEAM V boasts the most efficient duo in the league.
In the crazy offense of Angry Birds, Lucas Crivello (501 yards, 10 TDs) and Alessandro Barazzoni (354 yards, 10 TDs) have helped offset some of the turnover issues from quarterback Domenico Manno, whose league-leading 1,603 yards come with 17 interceptions.
