The Difference between Ordinary and Extraordinary, is that little extra.
Hello to FPF Div 3 followers and all others interested in this electrifying division! We have officially passed the midway point of the seaso, which means that depending on how many games your team has left, this might be the last week you’re able to bring in a sub that will make the 5 game requirement for playoffs! This season seems to be unlike any other, as many of the heavy weights in this Division have taken a hit in the standings, while other teams continue to show that we still have a long season ahead, and that nobody is down & out just yet. At this point in time, you’re looking at your roster saying this is either going to work great or you see the flaws within your team, and you understand that it’s time to start trimming the fat for next season. It’s evident that teams are developing more chemistry as we head into the final stretch of the season, and this only means one thing; more intense football! With the stakes being as high as Snoop Dogg on a Saturday night, it could come down to one bad throw, or a ball you feel like you should have caught, that can cost you the season. It’s all about execution and that is why most of the top dogs in every division of Flag have success… They are consistent within the system they are comfortable running. What’s surprising to me, is teams such as Expendables, Silent Ticklers,, Killa Bees, or even Les Maloudes (Who currently sit with a first round bye, should the playoffs start tomorrow) that have shown signs of life over the last couple of weeks, proving that they can run with some of the best in Div 3. It just goes to show that it truly is Any.Given.Sunday… Or Wednesday… or maybe even a Saturday, basically whenever your game is played, each team has a puncher’s chance! Without wasting anymore of your time, let’s jump right into what happened over the last week!
Weekly Recap
- Silent Ticklers pulling off one of the upsets of the year thus far?! Talk about’ Cooling off that Sheeeesh offence! 3 of Jordan Panetta’s 6 Tds went to Daniel Mancini who had his way all night long with this Sheeesh defence, Impressive stuff! I hate to say it, but Andrew Langburt is literally the definition of going from here to zero, over the last couple of weeks. I personally had him as my pick for QB of the year before the season began, and honestly I just don’t see him keeping up with the likes of Harripersaud or Rosenblatt for the award anymore. Mind you, awards are nothing without a championship, no doubt! However, it does signify how well a player has done over the course of a season. As it stands, Langburt is coming off back to back losses, and can quite possibly be a third as they face Killa Bees Saturday night. Whatever the case may be, if you have stud athletes such as Ariel Liberati, Jared Rockman or even Officer Lepage, there is no reason to be completing only 40% of your throws. Kudos to Tanner Burrell for calling a steller defence, while registering a PD and a sack on the night! Not many more times we shall see this Sheeesh squad hit a roadblock such as they did last week.
- When you don’t have a dude who could stop Rabbi Bositampen’s speed down the field, it’s going to be a long night at the office! Sadly for the Oompa Loompas, this seemed to be the case, as Bositampen went off for 3 Tds to secure the 21 pt win. Shoutout to this defence balling out! Darryl Dorcely, Charles Montpetit, Rabbi Bositampen, and Charles Davidson-Parent (Former teammate of mine at Champlain!) all taking part in this defensive slugfest, as they each registered an INT of their own! It’s always a game filled with smiles and laughs whenever you can get 2+ turnovers on the night. Speed Academy had 4.. so you bet your bottom’s dollar that these guys had a post game pizza party at lachine! I’m just mad I didn’t get the invite!!
- Thor really laid down the Hammer, as Jeff Rosenblatt did his thing, nickel and dimming the Bearskins D for a cruising 6 Tds. Bearskins on the other hand really need to get things figured out before this season completely slips away from them. Neil Etinson started the game with a 19 yard run for the score, showing signs of life in this match… to finishing the game with only 10 completed passes? Something seems off. Sure, Neil didn’t throw any INTs. However, the Bearskins offence did get stopped twice on fourth down, which is always going to be demoralizing. The dynamic Duo of Dawson Pierre and Anthony Brisebois continue to be an electrifying force in division 3, that nobody seems to have the answer to! Pierre finished the night catching all 6 passes thrown his way for 86 and a score, while Brisebois found the endzone twice off 6 catches as well. If you’re going up against Thor’s Hammer and you don’t have multiple DBs that can win jump balls, GOOD LUCK MY FRIENDS!!!
- It pains me to write this, but one of FPF’s most accomplished athletes went down with a pretty serious injury this weekend. Carmine Pollice was unfortunately seen limping off the field Sunday night with what was described to me as an achilles injury. Some of his teammates say they think he’s done for the year, while Moe Khan reported on CTA that Carmine’s ankle is healing and the team is being optimistic about his return. Who knows what to believe anymore, classic media!! Nonetheless, Gino Di Fazio was able to step in, throw a pick on his very first throw, but still come away with another W for the Expendables. With games vs Junkyard Dogs & Thor’s Hammer up ahead, I’m intrigued to see how this Expendables roster will hold up without their star QB taking the field.
- Another MASSIVE UPSET in this crazy season we are having! I feel like somehow, someway, Vegas is involved in all of this, it’s the only way it makes sense! The MANNNNGOOOOSEEE played some gritty football, and were able to grind out a gutsy win over Touch It Catch It. You can call him Julien Edleman, or Wes Welker, or whatever you think fits the glove. Either way you look at it, Thomas Coutu had himself a DAY! This game was filled with one big play after another, and Coutu continuously moved the chains, allowing his QB Nicolas Schaefer to play confident football. How ironic, a team whose name is Touch It Catch It, had a night filled with their best players having crucial drops down the stretch of this game, basically handing over the win. Mangoose have not only created an opportunity for a playoff berth, but have officially taken the spot of Bearskins as the 2nd team in conference A to have a bye, at the moment. Crazy how fast things can change from week to week in this FPF world!
- The name is Hindsley Adams, and his occupation is putting fear into the soul of opposing quarterbacks! His latest victim? Once upon a time Candidate for QB of the year Jeremy White, as Adams proved that his relentless pursuit for a sack really made the difference in getting the stops Junkyard Dogs needed to get this dub. In a losing effort, Jean Christophe Ferland had himself quite a productive night, as he was able to find paydirt 3 times! Although Jason Rossie didn’t have his best night statistically, he was still able to find both Semerjian brothers for 3 of his 4 scores, which is starting to sound like a reoccurring event week in and week out. EZW is a well oiled machine don’t get me wrong, the only problem is they lack height! Junkyard Dogs on the other hand, is all about winning those high arching Jump balls that Rossie loves to toss up! Looks like the size outweighed the speed in this one! Safe to say not every game for EZW will end up as an “easy W”.
- Vincent Morissette continues to produce quality content to use in his case towards winning Defensive player of the year. After picking off Simon Dagenais twice in Wednesday nights showdown, Morissette has taken back the throne for leading the league in interceptions this year with 6. Anthony Beauchamp Frezza put on one of his better games of the season. Even though he threw 2 INTs, he also was able to achieve a season high 5 touchdowns vs Lightweight, en route to getting another check mark under the W column . Louis-Philippe Paquette along with Justin Blanchard both showed up on the stat sheet with 2 touchdowns a piece. For Blanchard, it was just another day at the office (including the loss, unfortunately). However, as for Paquette, he had one of his most productive days as a member of Les Maloudes. Hauling in 7 passes on the night, while having 2 go for Touchdowns! Hopefully this win can carry some momentum going into the later half of this regular season.
- Blessed were able to take care of business as they shut down Les Gros Coqs, putting up 42 in the process! Stephen Harripersaud is clearly in sync with his players right now, as they seem to be clicking on all cylinders! What makes this team so special, is for two reasons. Firstly, it seems as though every week there is a new player who emerges as Harripersaud’s go-to receiver, which makes it almost impossible to key in on one specific player and bracket cover them all night long. Of course, we know about the Phil Pharands, Kevin Smudas and Will Powers of the world, but what really stood out is Jafar Hassan finding those open zones as Harripersaud’s snapper. Not only was Hassan able to move the chains last week (6 catches, 69 yards) but he was able to find the endzone 2 times, one being a ball in which he had to make an acrobatic play to secure the reception, get up because he was untouched, and out run the defender for the score! Impressive stuff no doubt! However, what could be seen as quite scary, as well as what makes this team the best in the league, is the fact that this team is Blessed enough to have a QB that has completed over 80% of his passes, 5 WEEKS IN A ROW!!!! That’s TRULY some astonishing numbers! A few weeks from now there’s going to be a certain phone call that’s going to go down….RING RING!! Pick up the phone Stephen! It’s Rob Campana on the line, just want to say, that we hope you enjoyed your stay in Division 3, because this will likely be your last time seen in any division lower than 2! …Side note, It’s always a breath of fresh air when you can start on defence, and have cerebral players such as Kevin Smuda that can read a play developing as quick as anyone in the league. He showed examples of this by getting a Pick 6 on the first play of the game! That will definitely get the juices flowing on the defensive end! All in all Blessed seems like the real freakin deal boys!
Players of the week!
QBs
Stephen Harripersaud
- This is what the best players in the league do. They come out, any night you plan it, and JUST. BALL. OUT. Stephen Harripersaud is one of those ballers, who can just simply dissect your zone defence like it’s nobody’s business! Going 25/30, 207 yards and 5 TDs! All that while throwing for EIGHTY THREE (83%) Completion percentage, and a 135 QBR, including the W! As it stands, Harripersaud leads the league in TDs with 42, but he does have a 2 game lead over the next man up, Jeff Rosenblatt. However you want to look at this, just know that Blessed is a really strong unit due to their really great athletes, and extremely consistent play by their QB. Combine those two together, and you got yourself 8-0. Way to go, Stephen!
Jeff Rosenblatt
- The man standing right behind Harripersaud in passing touchdowns, with a 2 game lead over his shoulders, has only added to his tally Sunday Evening. Jeff completed 24 of his 30 passes, for 215 yards & 6 touchdowns! Completing anything over 70% is already great, but completing 80% of his throws is just nasty! Rosenblatt has been trending in the right direction as of late, as he has just 1 INT on the season to 37 touchdowns! With only 3 games left in Thor’s Hammer’s season, I’m intrigued to see if Jeff will put up ludacris numbers to secure the OB of the Year award. He certainly has the weapons to do so, in receivers such as Anthony Brisbois and Dawson Pierre. These two are starting to sound like one of the better 1-2 punches that we’ve seen in this league. As long as Jeff Rosenblatt keeps playing confident, unrushed, and unphased football, this team will go far. Wouldn’t surprise me if Jeff leads them to the finals berth. They definitely have the roster capable of doing it! Nonetheless, keep up the awesome work Jeff!
Jordan Pannetta
- It’s always an uphill battle whenever you are the underdog, that’s just how the way the game works. What I didn’t know was that it was going to be Sheeesh who would be viewed as the underdog in this matchup. Off the bat, Jordan Panetta took command of this game, and never looked back as he led the cool calm and collected Silent Ticklers to another victory. Finishing the day going 12/16 for 174 yards and 6 TDs, while completing 75% of his throws to cap off a 149.5 QBR. It’s always a blessing to have speedy dudes on the squad such as Daniel Mancini who can simply torch Man to man coverage with the agility he has on his double moves. I hate that their team name has the word silent in it, because all they’ve been doing these past few weeks is make some real noise! Panetta has his squad rolling, and ever since he cleaned up the turnovers, this team has done a complete 180. Wouldn’t surprise me if we see Silent Ticklers produce a few more upsets down the road.
Wrs
Daniel Mancini
- Talk about putting up some Randy Moss Thanksgiving day type of numbers! Mancini only finished with 3 catches, however each receptions went for a score! What’s even more impressive? Those scores weren’t only redzone 2 yard dinkers. We are talking about opening up the game vs the former #2 ranked team in Division 2, and smacking them right in the mouth with a 40 bomb to get things going! He wasn’t just done there, as he caught his next two touchdowns passes from 34 yards out a piece, to give Daniel 108 on the night. This performance really helped his team be in better shape to get the upset over Sheeesh. Way to go Daniel, Keep it up!
Thomas Coutu
- What an absolute Jaw dropping performance by the Speedster! Man, the way Thomas Coutu comes in and out of his breaks, is really tough to guard. Even some of the better corners in this division will struggle against that kind of route running. It always helps when your quarterback feeds you the same way my nonna feeds me during Sunday lunch, which was exactly the case for this game here! Finishing the day catching TWELVE (Yes 12) of his 14 targets for 101 yards & FOUR (Again, yes 4) Touchdowns! It’s crazy to think that in a game featuring stud athletes such as AJ Gomes and Isiah Allard, it was Coutu who was clearly unguardable all night long. Thomas really put the team on his back to get the W, as he was involved in two pass deflections as well on the defensive end. Those effort plays that he kept on delivering each drive, were a large part of the reason why Mangoose won this game. Keep it up, Thomas!
Rabbi Bositampen
- Giving a literal definition to the words Speed Academy, Rabbi Bositampen showed us why he made the cut for this roster. Rabbi was clearly the vocal point in Speed Academy’s scheme this week, as the game began with Bositampen stepping in front of a throw and securing the interception. Now, the average player would think, ouff, maybe a substitute or something wouldn’t be the worst idea. Just to take a play off to catch your breath after getting the INT you know….Welp, let it be known that Rabbi is simply built different! The very next play he goes for a 38 yard TD to open up the score. That’s how you start a game young man! A Turnover followed by a score, I love it! Bositampen went on to finish his night Catching 3 of his 4 targets, for 97 yards & 3 scores. He currently sits with 8 touchdowns on the season, tying his teammate Jimmy Marneris for most on the team. Keep making big time plays, Rabbi!
Honorable mention: Jean Christophe Ferland
- In a losing effort, there is still time to give props to those who shine within the darkness. JC Ferland had quite the impressive game himself, as he finished his day with 9 receptions for 76 yards and 3 tds! If EZW is going to get hot during these last 4 games, JC is going to need to see the ball a lot more, as he is one of the better players on this EZW roster. Ferland is currently tied with teammate Charles Oliver Lavigne for Team leading touchdowns with 6 a piece. Nonetheless, great performance, JC!
DBs
Kevin Smuda
Kevin Smuda is usually known for his offensive play, as he’s probably going to end up on a someone’s wall one day as a poster of him mossing someone (likely to be a key piece of Harripersaud’s dining room decor) However, this week Smuda cracks the list of best DBs, as he was able to finish with 2 tackles on the day, and most importantly a pick 6 on the very first play from scrimmage! Talk about a game changer! Blessed is one of the best defensive teams in the league, that’s going to happen when you have Kevin Smuda playing the 4. Keep it up, Kevin!
Vincent Morissette
- Vincent is no stranger to this list, so I won’t need any introduction for this Stallion. Morissette was all over the field, as he finished with 6 tackles, 1 PD, and 2 INTs! Ok JC Jackson, I see you!! This man has clearly proven that he is one of the premier ball hawks that division 3 has to offer. He currently leads the league in INTs with 6, and he still has 4 games to play. I would be shocked at this point if Vincent Morissette isn’t the name written on the hardware once this season is done. Way to go, Vincent!
Jeff brown
- What’s the saying go? Age is just a number. It’s totally irrelevant unless, of course, you happen to be a bottle of wine. This quote can be directly applied to The Expendables vs Past Our Prime Matchup, as both teams had proven veterans on both sides of the field. One of the veterans who stood out the most, would be Jeff Brown. Not only was Jeff able to not only make 3 tackles, but he also got himself a pick 6 against his longtime fellow competitor Craig O’brien. This game was a classic representation of Past our Prime’s season. O’B threw 3 interceptions, yet only lost by 6 points. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, as one would say. This 6 point loss, can be directly pointed towards the 6 points Brown was able to add to the scoreboard by himself. Great to see a new name on this list, one that helped provide a crucial victory for his team. Keep Grinding, Jeff!
Rushers
Hinsley Adams
- One of the more impressive statical breakout performances of the weekend, Hinsley Adams was a walking wrecking ball vs EZW! Hindsley was able to put the pressure on all night, as he was able to get to Jeremy White for a total of 5 Sacks! This puts him back in the lead for most sacks in the league with 15! Quite the performance from this athletic beast, & reason #2335562 why Junkyard Dogs are a tough matchup for anyone. Hinsley doesn’t usually give QBs a chance to find that 3rd or 4th read, as there’s a high chance even after you look past even your first read, the play will be whistled dead with Adams raising your flags in his hands. Great work, Hinsley!
Minh Hai D’an Huynh
- A newcomer on this list, Minh Hai D’an Huynh proved something that most of FPF knew already, if you want to make a name for yourself, play a game against Simon Dagenais! Minh was able to get an impressive 4 sacks on the night! While I can sit here and argue that my baby cousins can sack Simon, I must give the props where it is deserved. Hell of a game, Minh Hai D’an Huynh. Show me that this wasn’t just a fluke game!!
Jonathan Lyristis
- Lyristis is a long time FPF savage rusher, who I personally had to go through his hell within my first few years in the league. He is one of those rushers that will just simply try and knock you off your game. If you don’t catch yourself before you fall into his trap, it could be a long night of back and forth barking at the opposing QB. Jonathan finished the day with a tackle and a sack, and for the most part keeping the scrambling Neil Etinson in check. Lyristis also included 2 extra points converts during the game, which is surely the kind of value you are looking for in a rusher. Someone who can provide pressure, and make big time plays on offence! Well done, Jonathan!
Power Rankings
- Blessed: : Blessed seems to be the absolute kingpin of this division. We might be looking at a team who will end up 10-0 in 2 weeks from now, who knows!
- Thor’s Hammer: catching fire at the right time, Jeff Rosenblatt has his team playing lights out football at the moment! Hopefully they can avoid the upset bug with Silent Ticklers around the corner!
- Junkyard Dogs: As long as the Semerjian brothers show up to the game, and Paul Lapierre is in that huddle once the game kicks off, Junkyard Dogs will always be a scary team to face.
- EZW: 2 losses in the previous 3 games. Not impressed, but still have hope… Hope that it isn’t Jeremy White who’s been figured out, and this is all just a hiccup alongside the road.
- Silent Ticklers: Making their way to number 5 on the power rankings, ST has proven that they have the team to compete with any of the top dogs. Jonathan Panetta has been playing lights out football as of late, exciting to see!
- Sheesh: If EZW is considered to be facing Hiccups, then Sheesh would definitely fall under the category of facing major turbulence. In the words of Andrew Langburt himself “ It’s all hands on deck” from here on out. Let’s go.
- Touch It Catch It: Fred Mallette actually played well for the better half of this game. He gave his receivers a chance… If you can touch it, you can catch it !!!!!!!!!
- Expendables: Intrigued to see the direction this team will take without their star QB under center. Nonetheless this team is still managing ways to win games, which is quite impressive on its own.
- Les Maloudes: A win they needed to get the gears rolling to set up a solid playoff run. 3 wins only, yet sit with a bye if playoffs started today. Crazy world we live in folks!
- Mangoose: BIG win over Touch It Catch it! Let’s see what kind of momentum they build off this dub.
- Killa Bees: Absolutely trending in the right direction at the moment! Ever since they Inserted Jeremie Mongeon- Duby as Qb1, it’s been fireworks on the offensive side of the ball. Watch out gentleman, we could witness a contender get RKO’d by a Killa Bees upset in the playoffs!
- Past Our Prime: Sitting at 1-5, when you can easily be 5-1, is something so difficult to digest. The good news is that they still have 4 games left in which they can still turn this ship around. You gotta believe!
- Bearskins: Disappointing outing for this Bearskins team, I expect more from this group of brilliant athletes. Unfortunately for them, their schedule doesn’t get any easier… Let’s see what these Bearskins are really all about!
- Speed Academy: A win over Oompa Loompas doesn’t necessarily give you that much credit. However, a win over EZW most certainly will!
- Les Gros Coqs: It’s clear that Dom Lefort is stresing in this division. The rushers are simply faster, even if they did swallow a whole greek dinner like Terry Babalis did before his game! LGC needs to find ways to score almost every drive, due to their defence not being the strongest. Uphill battle forsure!
- Lightweight: I’m not going to lie, If Simon doesn’t get a win soon, I’ll have to begin questioning whether or not Lightweight is a more competitive team than Oompa Loompas. I guess we’ll just have to wait till april 11th to get that answer.
- Oompa Loompas: April 11th, circle that date. We got an old wild west showdown to go down. I think Oompa Loompas can pull it off. Question is do THEY believe in themselves? We shall see!
Week 7 Schedule (Picks in bold)
Killa Bees Sheeeesh
Expendables Lightweight
Les Gros Coqs Les Maloudes
Touch It Catch It BearSkins
Junkyard Dogs Past Our Prime
Speed Academy EZW

Well that’s a wrap folks! I hope you enjoyed me ranting about the best and the worst of division 3 over the last week. If you feel like I missed out on any key points, feel free to reach out and message me! Good or bad, I love getting feedback from all of y’all! You guys are the ones who make this job enjoyable, believe me!
Till next week ladies & gentleman, enjoy!
