Super Bowl Weekend, Players of the week and Magic Babies
What’s crackin’ Div 4, welcome to week 6. Last week had some stunning upsets and many games down to the wire!! Happy Super Bowl weekend and due this highly anticipated event, FPF always takes this Sunday off. Not many games to be played this week due to this occasion so my goal is to take a deep look into the games set for this small week and give you guys my Super Bowl prediction.
Super Bowl thoughts and predictions
As the countdown to Super Bowl LVII brings us closer to kickoff between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs its almost time to put aside the chit chat and enjoy the game. As a football fanatic this is the event of the year and we couldn’t ask for much more between these two teams. I think this will be one of the more exciting Super Bowls we have witnessed in recent years and expect a lot of scoring, 60 total points is high, but id still take the over. Jalen Hurts and his two #1 receivers will tear it up and both look for a score. They also will run the ball right down that KC front 7. But unfortunately for eagles fans and Mahomes haters, I don’t think it will be enough. For starters, Mahomes’ injured ankle is getting better. But more importantly, this is the Andy Reid Revenge game. These 2 factors make it impossible for me to pick against the chiefs. Well, that and the 50$ future bet I played on KC to win the Super Bowl before the playoffs began. Kansas City will use Philadelphia’s pass-rush prowess against them. Nobody has a more elaborate screen game than Andy Reid. I give Mahomes and Reid the upper hand, even though Hurts and Sirianni are one hell of a duo. I can’t wait for Sunday!!
Super Bowl winner: Kansas City Chiefs
Final score: 31-29
Super Bowl MVP: Patrick Mahomes
One prop pick bet: Travis Kelce anytime TD scorer
Highlights of the week
- 4th & Shlong take a loss to Golden Eagles 25-20, a close game you would expect them to come out with the win
- Mengoose and Heart Break Kids and Nomads all squeeze out 1 point wins!
- In n’ Out get their first win over Top G’s after starting the season 0-4! This is the time for them to make a playoff push
- Even after holding The R.E.E.T to 108 yards and 20 points, Blue dreamers were unable to give them their first loss as a team. Until next time Boys!!
- Friends with Danny were unable to get that turnover I predicted and lost by one possession to the bruins.
- There are only 5 games being played this week
- Peeze Della Reeze is the first Qb in the division to eclipse 1000 passing yards
- Frédéric Paquette-Perrault and Iggy Manzanedo still have yet to throw one INT.
- After a rough start Bandits finally get one in the Win column
Week 6 Matchup Previews
Season prediction record (4-4)
Nomads (2-2) vs. Friends with Danny (1-4)
Nomads coming off a gritty win again Hot sauce Sports take on Friends with Danny Monday night to start off our short week. Wins have been tough to come by for both of these teams which means another loss can put them outside of the playoff picture. Nomads defence has allowed their opponents to score 30 points per game and has only intercepted 1 pass through 3 games. Because of this, I expect this game to be one of the higher scoring games of the week in the division. Friends with Danny have one more chance to right the ship and it starts this week against this Nomads team. Another loss would put them at 1-5 on the season and would really put them in danger of ending the season not only bottom 5 but potentially the last place team in the division. But my gut tell me this team has too much FPF experience to just roll over and not put up a fight as the season trickles down. I will give Friends with Danny once more shot as I do believe the Nomads might have gotten away with one last week against HSS. I predict a Friends with Danny win, 38-31.
The R.E.E.T. (4-0) vs Cunning Stunts (2-1-2)
This is definitely my game of the week. The undefeated R.E.E.T take on Cunning stunts (CS). The R.E.E.T are coming off a big win against Blue Dreamers, where their defense shined only allowing 8 points and got 2 Interceptions. Look for their offense to have a huge game as they were only able to put up 20 last week. I expect them to at least double that total. Simply put, their QB is a freak. Santino Sparagna is the fastest, most elusive QB in the division and its not even close. Even when you think you have him…you don’t. His ability to buy time makes it tiring for the rusher and impossible for Db’s to cover for that long. Good luck to all rushers out there. CS need last week against Blue Branleurs with another tie, tallying them up to 2 on the season. For sure, its better then losing but I know they want to come away from these close wins with a W. Cunning Stunts are a good team, but their speed won’t be a factor against one of the fastest teams in the league. CS have scored many quick deep touchdowns in past weeks and I just don’t see that happening against this defense. The 1 thing CS can take advantage offensively against the R.E.E.T is Domenic Manno’s size. Other then Dawson Pierre, not many players will be able to jump up with Manno. But still, look out for Santino to abuse the rusher and make plays with his legs. I predict The R.E.E.T to win this game smoothly 46-34.
Top G’s (1-3) vs. Les Blues Branleurs (2-1-2)
Top G’s are easily one of the better young athletic teams without a quarterback in the division. Through 4 games we have seen 3 different players play under center for Top G’s. Unsure of who will get the nod this week against Les Blues Branleurs they have their work cut out for them. After tying their last game against Cunning Stunts they will be hungry for a win. If a few plays go differently this year this squad can easily be 4-1. Guillaume Hamelin of Les blues Branleurs will continue to dominate their offensive touches as he already has 30 catches this season. I see top G’s hanging in this one but a few mistakes from Qb is what we’ve seen lose games for them so far and I don’t see anything changing this week. Give me Blues Branleurs 28-19. Mengoose (1-2-1) vs. Trap stars (2-2)
Top performers of Week 5
Qb: Jean Lussier -Wide open Bar
Another week, another great performance from Wide Open Bar. I think their main reason for success has been the play of QB Jean Lussier. With only 1 INT on the season, Lussier has been protecting the ball and avoiding sacks as he has yet to be sacked this season as well. This week was no different, even against a strong opponent, Bessette et Ses Potes Jean threw for 215 yards and 5 touchdowns! A strong outing from him led them to yet another win putting Wide Open Bar at 4-1 this season!
Wr: Julian Nelson- MOFOS
MOFOS unfortunately lose another game even with USports QB Rakim Charles under center. Despite the loss MOFOS’s WR Julian Nelson has had a great season scoring in every single game thus far. His stat line from this week is a whopping 8 catches, 150 yards and 3 touchdowns. Julian has taken over as MOFOS #1 receiver as he is responsible for half of MOFOS total offensive yardage!! He’s also tied for most receiving touchdowns in Div 4.
Def: Emile Bolullo- Les Bébés Magiques
Im not sure if team Ethnik QB, Benoit Lawlor, is to blame for all of them but every single one of his INT’s fell into Emile Bolullo’s hands. He need the night with 1 tackle and 3 INT’s. This huge defensive performance puts his season total at 4, enough to tie the league leader for most INT’s this season. It also have Les Bébés Magiques the edge they needed to capture their 2nd win of the season. Their defence as a whole needs to be better if they want to consistently get wins and multiple turnovers is a perfect way to do so.
2-Way: Jonathan weir- Ballz Deep
Johnathan Weir had an incredible performance for Ballz Deep. He was their top receiver with 4 catches and 58 yards and two touchdowns. But he didn’t stop there. The Ballz Deep defense looked scary as they racked up 5 INT’s on the night but it was Jonathan who was able to take 2 of those 5 INT’s to the house. His 4 TD performance showed the division he could do it all and will continue to have great numbers all season with Brother Justin throwing him the rock.
Thats all for week 6, if you haven’t already, take a look at the official FPF podcast calling the audible as I joined the guys this week to talk Div 4. Enjoy the Super Bowl and tune in next week for Mid-Season report cards!!
