Super Bowl 57!!!! Chiefs or Eagles? Who you got!?

SUPER BOWL 57!!!!!! Every year I get excited for the Super Bowl but feel this year is extra special. Both teams are very deserving of being in the big game. They both finished with the number 1 seed and have been consistent throughout the course of the season. I gotta admit I was never a big believer in Hurts. He has pleasantly surprised me this year and is my MVP. I don’t expect either team to deviate that much for their usual approaches. The Eagles will run the ball and let Hurts do his thing when need be. No one is 100% healthy when it comes to the end of the season and this is especially true for the Chiefs. Mahomes did not look like his usual self in the AFC Championship game. I expect a much better Mahomes in the Super Bowl. I went back and forth on who I was going with in this one. I boiled it down to a very simple question. Who do I trust more, Hurts or Mahomes? Gimme Mahomes all day, every day, and twice on Sundays. Chiefs win 27-24.

Man, were there ever some exciting finishes to our games this weekend! Let’s get right into it…

With the game seemingly in the bag, ALPHA DOGS were beating Silent Ticklers 35-22 with just seconds left before 5 plays. The Silent Ticklers then scored a touchdown in 2 plays and declined the convert to go for the onside kick. They completed the onside kick successfully and regained possession with 5 plays left. With 2 plays left Jordan Panetta rushed for a 14 yard touchdown to bring the Silent Ticklers within 1. Everybody hates ties, so they decide to go for a 2-point convert and get it! On the last play of the game they got the game-sealing interception and completed the incredible comeback to win 36-35! Shutout to Tysen Otis Copeland who clutched up late in the game on multiple occasions.

Les Maloudes decided to go with Anton Sakiz at QB rather than Anthony Beauchamp-Frezza against Les Gros Coqs. Sakiz struggled early but hit stride late in the second half. This was an incredibly entertaining game, which I caught bits and pieces of. Not only was it a tight game throughout, but both teams were jawing back and forth at each other. Fast forward to the last play with the game tied at 20. Absolute pandemonium! A Hail Mary toss to the end zone that is caught by Ludwik Jananji, who absolutely climbed the ladder… Les Gros Coqs are yelling for an offensive pass interference call to no avail…BUT WAIT… We got laundry on the field! Not for an OPI but for an illegal forward pass! The game would end in a 20-20 tie.

The Junkyard Dogs VS Blackouts game did come down to converts like I predicted. However, it was JYD coming out on top, 42-40, and not Blackouts. It would be really cool to see this matchup again in the playoffs. I was upset I was unable to catch any of this game but I could imagine it being intense, with a ton of emotion left on the field. Three games into the season and Blackouts surprisingly sit at 1-2. I’m not worried but want to see them rally off at least 2 or 3 straight wins from this point.

KGP Ra had 7 interceptions against the Bearskins. That is all.

I’ve been hearing a lot this week about people’s go-to foods when it comes to the Super Bowl. You got wings, nachos, chilli, etc… But whatever happened to good old fashioned pizza and fries? If it ain’t broke don’t fix it people…

In the battle of winless teams, Une Phrase Bien Fournie beat Backyard Bullies 39-21. This could be a sign of things to come for them. We know the transition from tackle to flag isn’t easy. It looks like these guys are slowly starting to figure things out. Great stuff!

Most of FPF knows Hinsley Adams to be a phenomenal rusher, which he is. Lemme tell you, after playing on his team for the last little while, the man may be even more electric on the offensive side of the ball.

We are just about halfway through the season and there are now 3 undefeated teams left in Silent Ticklers, Les Gros Coqs, and Mangoose. Looking forward to Mangoose vs Les Gros Coqs in week 11.

Ballers of the Week

Quarterbacks

Nicholas Schafer Mangoose: Schafer threw 7 touchdowns win no picks against EZW! He added 191 yards and went 16 of 25.

Jason Rossie Junkyard Dogs: Jason threw for 6 touchdowns, 1 pick, and 276 yards. He also completed 25 of his 32 passes against Blackouts.

Receivers

Jafar Hassan Preach: My boy Jaff had 3 touchdowns on 8 catches and added 64 yards against Beer Belly Brigade.

Rory Semerjian Infantry: Rory had 9 catches for 103 yards against That’s What She Said. He also grabbed 2 touchdowns.

Defenders

I am going to do something a little different here. My defenders of the week go to the entire KGP Ra boys. They not only got the 7 picks, but brought 3 of them to the house.

Game Previews

Les Maloudes VS The Stoics

After losing week 1, The Stoics have rallied off 2 straight Ws. They may not look like the sexiest or most athletic team in the division but that doesn’t matter. These guys have been playing together for a while and it shows. They seem to always be on the same page and that has helped them in games where they are “outmatched.” They are filled with guys that may not be known in the highest of divisions, but are ballers just the same. To win this game they do not need to overcomplicate anything. Rivest needs to take what the defense gives him, and take his shots when they’re there.

Les Maloudes took a step in the right direction last week after tying Les Gros Coqs. The most important thing for them in this game will be their redzone defense. Their defense will give up some plays, but as long as they bend but don’t break they’ll be okay. My guess is Sakiz will be under center for them in this one while building chemistry with his receivers.

Had a tough time picking this game, but I’m gonna go with The Stoics in a tight one.

Final Score: The Stoics win 28-26
