Sunday Previews
Flag Moi L’Sac vs Da Finest: The last time these two teams met, Kevin Wyeth’s crew took advantage of the fact that Flag Moi L’Sac was without clever QB Alex Nadeau-Piuze. We can expect a much closer outcome in this heated rematch. I’m counting on this one to be a shootout, first team that fails to score on a drive will lose the game. A key matchup to look out for in this one will be Anthony Vandrame the two-way veteran vs Jarryd Taylor the young offensive threat.
PREDICTION: Flag Moi L’Sac 40-32
Braves vs YCSWU: Another tale of a missing QB in their first meeting. Jonathan Maheu was absent when they first met in week 2 but he’s back to avenge his team’s only loss of the year. Can YCSWU muster up a defensive stop? If they do, will it be enough to steal the game and 1st place? Too many questions surrounding this crazy rematch. The key matchup to keep an eye on will be Justin McLean vs Alex Pilon, both bring lots of offensive fire power but only one of them will make the difference in this game.
PREDICTION: YCSWU 42-40
#NR vs Taco Tuesday: A battle between the division’s best teams. Taco Tuesday is trying to bounce back after suffering their first loss while #NR is trying to keep their undefeated season alive. Both these rosters are loaded with talent so it is no surprise that they sit at 1st and 2nd place in the division. They’ll both be eager to prove that they truly are the best in the division. This game’s key matchup will be between Quaid Johnson and Chris Millard, both ballers lead their teams in touchdowns and have proven to be unstoppable up to this point.
PREDICTION: Taco Tuesday 39-37
Dirty Dawgs vs Pineapple Express: One team is trying to turn their season around and the other is trying to run away with the division. Dirty Dawgs can use a big win after taking a tough loss to 69ers. They still have the top receiver in the league with David Chitayat and will certainly count on him to help them bounce back. On the other side of things, Pineapple Express has allowed the least points against this year and is the only team in the conference to allow less than 100 points this season. The key matchup in this game is between QBs Chris Olson and Ryan Lelinowski. Both have made some mistakes, both have had some bright moments, but both still have some things to prove.
PREDICTION: Pineapple Express 36-18
Super Saiyans vs The Tide: A struggling Super Saiyans team hoping to change the course of their season are in a great spot for an upset victory. They haven’t gotten the start they wanted but I’m counting on them to turn things around tonight if they can contain the running threat of Doug Mckernan. The Tide are looking sharp this winter, scoring 30 points in every game except one. They’ll be looking to keep that offensive fire going into this game. The matchup to watch will be between Gianni Johnston the Super Saiyans’ rusher and Doug Mckernan The Tide’s running QB.
PREDICTION: Super Saiyans 35-30
Backwood Boyz vs FILP: It’s hard to imagine the Backwood Boyz will lose another game this season, especially after absolutely dismantling OK Boomers 69-17. The young squad of studs has a chemistry that goes beyond the game of flag and it shows. FILP needs a big win tonight if they want to keep their heads above water as they keep fighting for a playoff spot. Veteran player and hall of fame nominee Danny D’Amour has faced almost every FPF situation you can be in. You can count on Danny to make this a tough game for the Backwood Boyz and all their young talent. The key matchup here is between FILP’s top receiver Jared Buck and Backwood Boyz two way all-star Nicky Farinaccio.
PREDICTION: Backwood Boyz 28-20
