Speed Kills… Just ask Speed Academy
Hope all of you are well reading this. A lot of stuff to talk about so I’m gonna get right into it.
In an MFL matchup, Les Gros Coqs edged out ALPHA DOGS 46-41. This was an intense game with some friendly fire going back and forth. I’d love to see a playoff game between both teams.
Gotta give credit to Les Maloudes. We (Preach) were up by 9 at half and getting the ball to start the second. They made great halftime adjustments and came away with the 25-22 victory. They have now won 2 games in a row and 3 of their last 4.
Jimmy Marneris for Speed Academy has 19 touchdowns in 7 games. NINETEEN!! He had 5 touchdowns in EACH of his last 2 games. If that wasn’t impressive enough, in those 2 games he had a combined 274 receiving yards. He is tied for first with most receiving touchdowns in the division.
FDU KNIGHTS!!!!! How about that! For the second time ever a number 16 seed has taken down a 1 seed! The Knights play tonight for a chance to punch their ticket to the sweet 16. Another 1 seed was sent packing. Arkansas sent the Jayhawks home early. Safe to say brackets are being busted left, right, and center. I have Houston over Alabama in the championship game. Am I confident with that pick? Heck no! It’s been an incredible tournament so far. Hope you guys are catching some of the action.
So is Aaron Rodgers gonna be a New York Jet? Apparently he wants to be, but no deal has been completed. All signs point to him playing in the Big Apple, but the longer this all goes on, the more I wonder.
This was the Blackouts team I had expected from the beginning of the season. They made quick work out of KGP Ra beating them 54-31. Sinagra threw for more touchdowns than completions. The trio of Vanslet, Johnson, and Mungiovi had a combined 6 touchdowns.
EZW picked up their second win of the season in as many weeks. In his 2 games at quarterback, Nic Blais has a QBR of 118.1.
With the NFL draft a little over a month away the Carolina Panthers are on the clock. My gut is saying they’re gonna go with CJ Stroud out of Ohio State. I don’t think there’s a “wrong pick” here as there are a ton of great QBs this draft. Personally, I would got with Bryce Young. I know he’s short and that’s always a concern in the NFL. There is just something special about this kid. He always finds a way to win and is calm as a cucumber in the game’s biggest moments. Lemme know in the Facebook comments who you think the Panthers will take at #1!!!!
It’s going to be a tight race for those final playoff spots. Quick reminder that 5 teams will miss the playoffs in division 3. Air Force 1 against Une Phrase Bien Fournie will be the game to keep an eye on this week. The loser of this one will be in a very tough spot.
Ballers of The Week
Quarterbacks
Michael Roy : Mike went 15 of 19 with 240 yards, 8 TDs and no picks against KGP Ra
Adam Sinagra Blackouts: As I already mentioned, Sinagra threw for 8 touchdowns against KGP Ra. Get that defense in check KGP Ra!!!! He went 21 of 27 for 264 yards.
Wide Receivers
Jimmy Marneris Speed Academy: For the second week in a row Jimmy makes the list. He caught 8 passes against Les Gros Coqs… 5 of them went for touchdowns! He also had 133 receiving yards.
Alex Joltopuf Greendale Human Beings: The Eagles fan himself had 3 touchdowns on 11 catches for 94 yards. He now has 88 receptions on the year. The man is averaging more receptions a game than Derrick Henry gets carries…
Defenders
Anthony Beauchamp-Frezza: Anthony had 2 interceptions in his team’s win against Preach.
Maxime Théroux Mongoose: Théroux has 2 picks is his team’s victory over Blue’s Clues.
Game Preview
Mangoose Vs Les Gros Coqs
A battle of the youngsters. I can write a novel about this game but I think the analysis here is fairly simple. I think whoever gets the first stop wins. Both teams have great quarterbacks, receivers, and overall athletes. Les Gros Coqs have surprisingly giving up 30+ points in 4 straight games. You gotta figure a team like Mangoose will continue that trend. I get the feeling the ball is gonna be flying in this one. I expect both QBs to take a good amount of deep shots. A fun matchup to watch in this one is Lefort against Coutu. Lefort is very elusive but Coutu has 15 sacks on the year. I’d say if Coutu gets 2 or more sacks Mangoose wins, if not Les Gros Coqs will come up victorious.
The redzone will be key to monitor. Like I said, both teams have the offense to stretch the field. However, things get a lot tighter in goal-to-go situations. I would not be surprised if this game comes down to converts either. Protecting the football will be huge in this one and I expect both defenses to be ultra-aggressive in forcing turnovers. Gimme Mangoose in a verrrry tight one 40-39.
