Pro Playoffs and Frustrating Results
Week 5
Just about midseason as week 5 of 11 approaches. As the number of games played varies from team to team I will save the Midseason report cards for week 6 & 7. This way every team will have at least 5 games played and I will have a better sense of how successful or not each team has been in the first half of the season. In the coming weeks the standings will look more balanced as some teams have only played 3 games so far and others 5 and a better playoff picture will form. If any team is looking to add a player to their roster this is the week to have them start showing up.
A quick note on sports as the NHL and NBA playoffs have reached the finals. The fact that Vegas has made it back to the finals really shows how the NHL favours new expansion teams. How they made the finals in their inaugural season is beyond me. But to make it back in just 5 seasons as the better seed and the favourite is truly extraordinary. Im not a big hockey fan but their success has been something I cannot overlook. South Florida must be raving as their Florida Panthers and Miami Heat have both made the finals. They’re hoping they can bring home at least one major championship because we know the Miami Dolphins have no chance lol. Moving on to the NBA. Call me a bandwagon but when I began playing basketball in high school in 2012 I instantly became a Miami Heat fan. LeBron, D-Wade, Bosh and Ray Allen all caught my eye and I knew this was my team. In 2014 when LeBron decided to head back to Cleveland I was not happy but I wasn’t about to follow him wherever he went. I didn’t think the heat would be relevant for a while especially after Wade’s retirement. In January 2020 I was lucky enough to watch a heat game in Miami before the pandemic and watch superstar Jimmy F’ing Buckets live in action. They reached the finals in the bubble and I was ecstatic only to find out we had to play LeBron’s Lakers. That finals loss hurt but its LeBron. Fast forward to today after that game 7 win against Boston after almost blowing a 3-0 lead, I am ecstatic. I know a tougher opponent awaits us in Denver and we probably have no one that can guard Nikola Jokic but all I know is GO HEAT BABY!

4th & Shlong avoid falling to a shocking 0-3!!
After losing to two tough opponents in Kiss My Inlaws and a wild 54-41 loss to The Commission it did not look promising in week 3 when facing the 4-0 Sharks. QB of 4th & Shlong Michael Caparelli has had a good start to the season but had thrown 2 INT’s in each of their first two losses. He has surly been frustrated with their start to the season so far. This game against the Sharks was so important for this group as falling to 0-3 with Repeat offenders up next on their schedule could have sent them down a rabbit hole. Still having Bessette Et Ses Potes and Bible Study on the second half of their schedule makes for a tough regular season. This game against the Sharks was a great one for caparelli as he threw 300 yards 7 TD’s and 2 INT’s. AJ Zeppetelli was also on fire as he caught 7 passes for 153 yards and 3 TD’s. 4th & Shlong were up 19-18 at half time and kept their foot on the gas the entire time, showing that they were the hungrier team last week. Still Caparelli has thrown more INT’s in 3 games this season then he did all of last winter (4). He will need to keep his turnover’s in check if they want to continue beating the top teams in div C.
Killer Rays vs Bessette Et Ses Potes cancelled due to weather
I hate to see things like weather impact a game but I don’t think there is anything worse then a game being cancelled due to rain, thunder & lightning. The commish will probably hate me for saying this but I hate playing outdoors for this exact reason. FPF should only be played indoors as we do in the Fall and Winter in my opinion. Players make themselves available for their games that appear on the schedule, pay for gas and take up their time to arrive at a field. Not playing is easily the worst thing that can happen. To all the players and teams that were affected by the weather cancellations we truly apologize and hope the games we be rescheduled at the earliest and most convenient time. Truly Frustrating!
Dirty Birds Cant find W’s even with James Tyrell’s big performances
The Dirty Birds find themselves in a frustrating position, sitting at a disappointing 1-3 record despite the impressive performances of James Tyrell. Throughout the season, Tyrell has been a standout player, excelling on both sides of the ball. After four weeks, he leads the league in touchdowns scored with a remarkable eight, showcasing his ability to find the end zone consistently. Additionally, Tyrell has demonstrated his defensive dominance by tying for the league lead in interceptions with an impressive five picks in 4 games. Despite his exceptional contributions, the Dirty Birds have struggled to turn Tyrell’s individual brilliance into team victories. It is clear that even with Tyrell’s outstanding performances, the Dirty Birds must address other areas of their game to secure more wins in the future. Their schedule doesnt seem to get easier for them as they face The Infantry, 4th and Shlong and Bessette et Ses Potes who all have strong offences and will force Dirty Birds to score more then 30 if they want their game to be competitive. Something that they only have done once in 4 games.
How will Kiss My Inlaws bounce back from their first loss?
After being undefeated in all of winter and the first 3 weeks of spring, KMI has finally taken an L. Losing to TOPSZN 37-35 in a thrilling down to the wire game. Iggy rarely throws INT’s and in this one Ryan McGrath took advantage of his opportunity and not only picked him off but brought it back for 6 which ended up being their biggest play of the night. It will be interesting to see how KMI will bounce back this week after suffering a loss and facing a big offensive threat against FlagFools. FlagFools have scored over 40 points 3 out of 5 times this season and will need another to put pressure on KMI. I do think KMI will be fine but it is definitely something to monitor this week.

Prediction record: 2-2
Air Force 1.2 (2-3) Vs Green Munchs (1-3)
In an exciting Div C matchup, Air Force 1.2 and Green Munchs are set to clash on the field this Sunday night. With both teams looking to improve their records, this game promises to be a thrilling contest. Air Force 1.2 enter the game with a 2-3 record and are determined to reach a .500 mark. Led by their quarterback, Simon Blais, they have been an offensive force this season. Blais has showcased his talent, amassing 993 yards and 22 touchdowns in five games. His ability to find open receivers and deliver accurate passes has been key to the team’s success. Blais will be the focal point of the Air Force 1.2’s offense, and his performance will be crucial to their chances of victory. On the other side, the Green Munchs have had a challenging start to the season, currently sitting at a 1-3 record. However, they managed to secure a win in week 1 against the winless Mengoose. The success of the Green Munchs largely rests on the shoulders of their quarterback, Fred Malette. Although Malette has only played in two games so far, he has an opportunity to make an impact. Malette will look to prove himself against a tough Air Force 1.2 defense who have forced 8 turnovers in their 5 game span. If he can find a rhythm and connect with his receivers, he has the potential to lead his team to victory.
While the quarterback battle will undoubtedly be a focal point of this game, it’s important to consider the overall team dynamics. Air Force 1.2 has been more consistent throughout the season, showcasing a potent offense led by Blais snd WR Antoine Caron who has scored 7 Td’s so far. Their ability to move the ball down the field and score touchdowns will put pressure on the Green Munchs’ defense. The Green Munchs, on the other hand, will look to regroup and build upon their sole win of the season. They will need to step up defensively and find ways to disrupt Blais’ rhythm. Ultimately, this matchup is sure to be an wild and intriguing battle between two teams hungry for a victory. Air Force 1.2 will aim to get a win streak going after last week s1 point win, while the Green Munchs will look to bounce back and improve their overall performance. I believe the outcome of this game will surprise most people as I see Green Munchs coming out with a underdog mentality and Fred Malette finally has an impressive performance winning 38-30.
