On to Week 2 in Div 4
DIVISION 4A
WEEK 1 REVIEW
Gold medal: Rony Ismeus, Backfield Penetration
In a hard fought win against a great team in Bet Boost Ballers, Backfield Penetration were led by receiver Rony Ismeus who caught 7 balls on 9 targets for a total of 164 yards to take a huge lead in the division’s receiving yards. Though he “only” scored once, Ismeus also added 2PDs on defense and was surely the difference maker in this one.
Silver medal: Sanders Armand, Born in the 80s
When David de Andrade secured Sanders Armand on his Div4 roster, he knew Armand was going to take the team to another level. It did not take very long for Sanders to make his presence known as he picked off Trapstars’ QB twice and scored 2 touchdowns on offense as well as 77 yards on 6 catches. Sanders was the main piece in a dominant win.
Bronze medal: Justin Weir, Ballz Deep
In a dominant 32-14 win against Step Brothers, Justin Weir threw only 13 passes and completed 10 for 143 yards and 4 passing touchdowns. He also added 56 yards rushing and a TD. Not only that he added a pick and 3 PDs. Weir only gets bronze due to playing against a pretty weak team in Step Brothers.
Game of the Week: Les Blues Branleurs vs. West Island Boys
After a dominant win in Week 1, Les Blues Branleurs shoot up in the power rankings. West Island Boys, led by Zack Stacey are obviously one of the favorites this season and begin with a tough matchup. After almost 2 months off, will Stacey and his gang be rusty or will they click right away? Olivier Pilotto wasn’t perfect for LBB last week but did enough to bring home the W. The team’s 2 pick 6s helped them rally, but it won’t be as easy creating turnovers against the always consistent Stacey. For WIB, the loss of Nick Di Maulo will mean someone has to step up offensively other than Skylar Bayliff. Will that be Julian McLaren-Thompson, Ethan Adrian or the new guy, Jazon Bile?

DIVISION 4B
WEEK 1 REVIEW
Gold medal: Jimmy Comeault, Voodoo
In his first ever FPF game, Comeault caught 6 passes for 51 yards and 5 TDs. Voodoo are going to be very dangerous and the addition of Comeault, Hugo de Souza and Samuel Tavernier is elite GMing by the legend Frank Kaye. Even with Kaye at QB, Voodoo absolutely destroyed Scrum-Diddly Umptious.
Silver medal: Sam Anastasoupoulos, Team Sexy
My favorite for two-way player of the year, Sam Anastasoupoulos showed once again why he’s a stud, and I’m surprised he hasn’t joined a higher division team yet. Regardless, his 126 yards and 3TDs, alongside his 2PDs on defense grants him silver this week. Team Sexy made a mess of Monkeys by a score of 52-6.
Bronze medal: Felix-Antoine Lavigne, Mengoose
I’ve had a lot of doubts about Felix-Antoine Lavigne the past few seasons but as the Tier 3 season went along, he started improving but eventually fell short. He comes back this season and completes 20 out of 23 passes, passes for 6TDs and doesn’t get intercepted. The Wolf Pack isn’t the greatest team but if Lavigne can follow on this path Mengoose will be competitive, very competitive.
Game of the week: The Pentrators vs. Voodoo
The Penetrators lost Rocco Cristiano from last season but seemed to have made up for it with two great additions: Tyrone Hamilton on offense and Mass Chiricosta on defense. Justin Goodman was very solid in week one against Killer Rays throwing for 186 yards, 5Tds and 1 interception. Voodoo obviously were led by Jimmy Comeault and Patrick St-Amand at QB. Frank Kaye should be back under center and that obviously adds another great weapon in St-Amand. Voodoo have a fantastic roster but lacks of bit of experience. The Penetrators have been around for long but aren’t as good as Voodoo in terms of athleticism.
