Kissing my Inlaws in a Wide Open Bar
Welcome back once again for your Division 4 article. Pretty hard to believe we are already at week 4. Who jumped up? Who dropped? Last week provided us with some interesting results so without further ado let’s jump into it.
Highlights of the Week
- Only 4 teams remain undefeated…Do any of these teams have the capability to finish the season without a loss?
- Voodoo gets an unexpected win against Still C.R.A
- A battle between two top 5 teams in the division saw Kiss my Inlaws come out on top as they handed 4th & Shlong their first loss
- Loup Du Nord take another loss and their rough start to the season continues
- In my opinion, the NFL conference finals for once in a very long time contains the 4 best teams in the league this year.
- Blue Dreamers win a tight one against trapstars as they effectively used their onside kick for the first time this season.
- Mofos win once again as Tiemoko Sanogo has a fantastic day
Division 4’s week 3 Spotlight Matchup Previews
Season prediction record (4-2)
MOFOS vs. Wide Open Bar
Mofos enter this game red hot scoring almost 70 combined points in week 2 and 3. Mofos quarterback Tiemoko Sanogo has had a good start to the year throwing for 500 yards, 13 touchdowns and 4 picks. These next two weeks will be Mofos biggest challenges as they face top teams of the division Wide open Bar and Martine et Le Flag. We will get a chance to see how how good this team can be defensively as they are set to play better offences then they have so far. Last time they played a top tier team in the division they lost 29-20. Granted it was only week 1 and they were missing, who I think is their best offensive weapon, Wedens Alexandre. You can say I’m biased because me and Wedens go back to the St-Leo days playing tackle football but his numbers speak for themselves. 2 games one hundred yards and 3 TDS!! His speed and agility make him a menace after the catch. Tiemoko Sanogo, should look for his #1 wideout often if they want to keep it rolling and secure another win. Wide Open Bar are going off a win last week against Friends with Danny. It was a tight one where both teams scored the same amount of TDs but extra points would be the decider. Proof that Wide Open Bar have great redone offense is by taking a look at their season extra points so far. They have scored 13 times and have converted 8 one point attempts. Clearly it cannot be understated how important extra points are in FPF, they can literally win or lose you close matchups. One thing that ill look for in this game for Wide Open Bar is turnovers. They have only snagged 1 INT in the last 2 weeks and will be key to winning this game over Mofos. This is a big matchup this week and Ill make sure to be in attendance Monday night. Wide Open bar will put up a fight but MOFOS get the W 42-35.
Les Blues Branleurs vs. Trapstars
Les Blues Branleurs are a team I am unfamiliar with and by the looks of the roster, many players have the divisions base rating indicating they have many FPF newcomers on the team. Les Blues Branleurs have had an up and down season so far going 1-1-1. QB Olivier Pilotto who has only played under center for Les Blues Branleurs since the team made their debut in 2014, has had a relatively slower start then he would want. Only a 2-1 TD-INT ratio and 350 yards in 3 weeks is does not put your team in the best position to win. Their only win has come against 0-3 bandits so im not sure how much confidence this gives me that Les Blues Branleurs can hang in there will Trapstars. Les Blues Branleurs seem to have all the size you can possibly want but seem to be lacking speed and play calling schemes as they only averaged 3 yards a play Vs. Bruins who aren’t necessarily known for their strong defence. Trapstars come off a devastating loss vs. Blue Dreamers as they led the game 19-7 with only 4 minutes left. They were unfortunate victims of the leagues new onside kick rules as the blue dreamers were able to score and convert on their onside kick leaving Trapstars with 5 plays left down 1 point. If I were Trapstars I wouldn’t take this loss as such a big hit as they played a strong game and if they can stick together and rally behind Ryan Garber they can be one of the divisions top teams. With that said I can’t possibly pick Trapstars to lose in consecutive weeks so ill predict Trapstars to win by double digits.
Ball don’t lie vs. Vultures
Ball don’t lie finally get one into the win column in week 3 putting up an offensive effort against In N’ Out scoring 42 points. You would assume their QB Charles William Tremblay throwing 6 TDs would be the biggest contributing factor to the win but it was actually their defense that put them in the best positions to score as they forced 5 4th Down plays and managed to stop them on all 5 attempt! I selected this matchup over a few other interesting ones as Ball don’t lie would really benefit from a win as they have a chance to go 2-2 after starting the season 0-2. In addition, vultures have surprisingly only played 1 game and ares till searching for their first win. Phil Roberts didn’t have the week 1 he was expecting only throwing for 60 yards. But their opponent 4th & Shlong are one of the toughest teams to face in the division so ill give them the benefit of the doubt. This is the vultures chance to throw this season into full gear and get some wins rolling in. Vultures have great athletes and if Roberts struggles with the deep ball the best thing would to be to abuse short routes and let your wideouts use their athleticism until defences are so painfully angry at the play calling they will adjust their defense to play shorter and thats when Roberts can take his shots downfield. Although I have only seen 1 game from vultures im taking them to win this game 28-21.
Hot Start:
Kiss my Inlaws
Off to a hot start, Kiss My Inlaws have won every game so far starting the season 3-0. Their most recent performance in week 3 against 4th & Shlong was impressive. Not only because they got a win against a top team but because of their defensive efforts. Opposing Qb Michael Caparelli has scored over 6 TD’s in every game so far except this one. Holding Caparelli to 3 touchdowns and less then 200 yards is something I was not expecting and not many teams all season will be able to do. Additions of Vincent Benjamin and Kevin Smouda has helped out as they each racked in a TD in their last weeks game. I would like to say I’m impressed with these results so far but that is what we expect. I predict Kiss my Inlaws should be undefeated up until week 8 when the face Martine et Le Flag. This is definitely Kiss my Inlaws biggest challenge of the season. Iggy has been doing a great job and I expect him to be one of the top 5 Qb’s of the year at seasons end.
Top performers of Week 3
QB: Frédéric Paquette-Perrault- Bessette Et Ses Potes
In as short as 3 weeks we have our first 7 touchdown performance. Frédéric must not have liked me choosing their team to lose against team Ethnik last week as he went off for 250 yards 7 TD’s and 0 INT’s. He also added 3 rushes for 34 yards just because. I want to say im disappointed in team Ethnik but after such a great performance by Frédéric, I can’t complain. What surprises me more is that he has yet to throw 1 INT all season. If Frédéric can pull off another game like this, hell put firmly put his name with the best Qb’s of the division.
Wr: David Polynice- Ball don’t Lie
An absurd week 3 from David Polynice allowed his team to to secure their first win of the season. David finished the day with 8 catches on 8 targets, over 100 yards and 4 touchdowns. In N’ Out had absolutely no answer for him as he even hauled in 2 extra points. All around great performance.
Defence: Jeremy Augustin- Dime and Bougie
Not sure where Dime and Bougie pulled Jeremy Augustin from but in his first game with the team Jeremy snagged 2 INT’s and I tackle in their week 3 win against Golden Eagles. After back to back defensive players of the week from Dime and Bougie we might be looking at the divisions top defence. Dime and Bougie has 8 takeaways in only 3 weeks.
2-way: Nick Groppini- Blue dreamers
Nick Groppini put this Blue dreamers team on his back in their close 1 point win over Trapstars. He led the team in receiving yardage with 50 and scored 2 TD’s including the game tying touchdown on 4th down in the red zone. He added to his big day with one interception and two very important pass deflections with the game on the line. Nick Groppini will look to continue his 2 way success as the season progresses.
