Is G.I.H.F. in Trouble?

Week 4 is upon us! Letssssssss goooo

I want to start with the slugfest of a game between Blue Chips and Blackout. Sanders Armand threw for Blue Chips in replace of Jordan Mitchell. He had the deep ball working early and often. Blackouts seemed to have fairly good control of the game being up 22-13 at the half and getting ball to start the second half. Blackouts continued throwing haymakers but Blue Chips kept getting right back up. On the final play of the game Armand was able to hit Hennessy Oraye for the 17 yard touchdown for the win! Final score 39-36. Great game by both teams!

In the battle of two undefeated teams, it was Mongoose coming out on top over That’s What She Said, 28-25. For the third straight game Mike Pierrecin got a pick 6 but it was simply not enough. Alexandre Gaudet did a good job of implementing all his receivers with all 4 of his passing TDs going to a different receiver. This game went in a similar fashion I had expected. It was a close game throughout with plays being made on both sides of the football.

Are G.I.H.F. in trouble? They’re sitting at 0-2-1 and have only scored 58 points on the year. I ain’t no mathematician but I’m pretty sure that’s less than 20 points a game. What surprises me is that this team has the weapons to make a lot of noise in the division. Things don’t get easier for them as they have to play Mongoose this Monday night.

I played against Silent Ticklers and lemme tell you, they are as good as advertised. Sure Jordan Panetta put up 5 passing touchdowns with over 200 yards and Adam Rosen got another 2 TDs, but it was their defense that impressed me the most. Every ball that Stephen Harripersaud threw was contested and they were able to get 3 interceptions on the six-time all-star. Silent Ticklers get a well-deserved bye this week.

It was in fact Air Force 1 and not EZW (like I had predicted) that got their first victory of the season Monday night. Manu Allard-Roy led the way for Air Force 1 with 9 catches for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns.

After giving up a touchdown on 4th down, The Stoics defense stood tall and stopped Blue’s Clues’ 2 point convert to come away with a 28-26 win. Camera guy and everyone’s favorite, Chris Rivest, looked comfortable most of the game using the short game to his advantage. He completed 21 of his 29 passes on the day against a very solid defense.

I thought this was supposed to be the year Buffalo Bills lose in another Super Bowl I mean win their first Super Bowl? Guess Joe Burrow had other plans. I got the Bengals and 49ers meeting in the Super Bowl for a 70’s and 80’s rematch.

Rashawn Perry came to play for his Junkyard Dogs. I was playing with Hot Sauce Sports in division 4 at the same time and every time I looked over he was making a game-changing play. He finished the day with 2 touchdowns and an interception, but it was his emotional presence that pushed JYD over the top in this one.

Danny Aylward threw for 291 yards. Alexandre Fafard threw for 185. Fafard won the game. Talk about a false stat. Difference was Fafard was careful with the ball while Aylward threw 3 interceptions. Olivier Claveau had 4 receiving touchdowns for Beer Belly Brigade against Greendale Human Beings. He and Fafard have a connection that continues to grow game after game and defenses need to start adjusting.

Game Previews

KGP Ra VS Beer Belly Brigade

A battle of two very smart quarterbacks. Ryan Garber and Alexandre Fafard take very good care of the football and always seem to make the right decision. I’m curious to see how aggressive both defenses will be in this one. I can see them jumping the shorts routes early on and offenses potentially adjusting. Hard to believe that it’ll be KGP Ra’s first game in 3 weeks! The key for them will be to try and take away Olivier Claveau of course. What may be even more important than that though is limiting Fafard’s ability to scramble around a buy time. Most important player in this game for me will be who ever rushes for KGP Ra. Looks like that’ll be Gabe D’Amico-Mazza based on their first game.
I think this will be a high scoring game. I don’t think Garber will struggle like he did in his first game of the season against Junkyard Dogs. The question then becomes how can KGP Ra slow down Beer Belly Brigade’s offense. We talk about converts being so crucial in FPF and I think we will see just that in this game. Gimme KGP Ra in a close one.

Final Score: 34-32 KGP Ra
