He’s back……. Tier 1 Thoughts

We are back! For the first time in FlagPlus Football history, the Fall season is going to be played as a complete season, just like the Winter and Spring seasons. In addition, a second level of 5v5 is being introduced (Recreational). Tune in every week for game breakdowns, reviews of some of the best performances and power rankings.

EZW:

EZW delivered a stellar performance in week one, defeating KGP with a decisive 48-12 victory. While KGP was missing longtime quarterback Phil Cutler, this shouldn’t take away from the impressive performance quarterback Jeremy White had. Spreading the ball all around the field, five different EZW receivers caught touchdowns. Look for EZW to be a top contender in this division, as I think after this season White will be considered one of FPF’s top quarterbacks – if you don’t have him up there already, that is.

KGP:

KGP faced a tough defeat in Week 1, falling short with a final score of 48-12. The absence of their starting quarterback, Phil Cutler, posed a significant blow to the team, leaving them to navigate the game without their usual offensive play caller. Despite their best efforts, KGP struggled to find a rhythm. Missing Quaysie Gordon-Maule was also a massive game-changer for KGP. That said, I’m not worried – KGP has been in the league for a long time now, and they’ve always found a way to prove themselves.

Run It Once:

Run It Once struggled in the first half of their game  against Blessed. In the second half however, quarterback Jeff Rosenblatt remembered he had this receiver named James Drysdale, opening Rosenblatt  with a full field bomb to a wide open Drysdale who would walk in for a touchdown. After that, the momentum swung and Run It Once was able to capitalise on their opponent’s mistakes and take home a 46-28 victory to start the season.

Blessed:

Quarterback Stephen Harripersaud has been playing high-division flag football for a while now: one rough half won’t keep him down. If Blessed can continue to replicate how they played in the first half of their game this week against Run It Once, they are going to be a big threat in this division. James Langshaw had a great week, catching 4 balls for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns. I am going to make a bold prediction and say Langshaw will have one of his best receiving seasons ever this Fall.

Vengeance:

Like Tom Brady coming back from retirement, the FPF goat Kevin Wyeth is back after taking the Spring season off. Surrounded by some of his regular crew, Wyeth will take this team as far as his arm allows him, as he has been dealing with some throwing arm injuries. For those of you who may have forgotten, Wyeth led his team to victory in the Division 1 championship finals in his last playing season. In short, Vengeance is going to be a problem in Tier 1 this season.

Da Braves and Dzod Team have not played their first games yet.
