Coed 2: Who’s Dominating, Who’s Struggling, and What’s Next?

The Coed 2 winter season has begun and the competition is heating up as teams fight for positioning in the standings. Some teams have looked unstoppable, while others are searching for their identity. Let’s dive into everything happening in the division…
The Top Dogs: Who’s Running the Show?
Tonix (4-0) – The Team to Beat

Undefeated and rolling, Tonix has been nothing short of spectacular. David Michaud has been a maestro at quarterback, slinging 17 touchdowns with only 2 interceptions thrown, boasting an impressive 67.3% completion rate. Their defence has also played a crucial role, keeping their point differential at an elite level, currently +/- differential of 67 which is by far the best in the division. With a looming showdown against Team Rocket—a tougher challenge, Tonix has a three-week break before the matchup. Will they stay sharp and keep their streak alive, or will the time off leave them rusty?
Michael Scott’s Tots (4-1) – Finding Their Groove

Despite a shaky start, including a 45-7 loss to Venom week 2, Michael Scott’s Tots have emerged as a legitimate team. David De Andrade has been solid apart from the poor showing week 2, tossing 22 passing touchdowns while airing it out for 746 passing yards. Zackary Alberts-Gill has been the go-to man, securing 7 receiving touchdowns. Their defence, however, has shown major cracks, allowing a division-high 141 points in five games—more than any other team. It’s rare to see a team with this much defensive instability sitting at 2nd place.
Daycare (3-0) – A Sibling Duo Leading the Charge?

Daycare are incredibly efficient, especially with Catherine Gaumont under centre, throwing for 253 passing yards while completing 81.5% of passes, wow. The dynamic duo of Catherine and Alexis Gaumont has been unstoppable, combining for 652 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns with just one interception thrown, all while boasting an impressive 70.4% completion rate. Sidney Couette has been a game-changer on both offence and defence, racking up 5 receiving touchdowns, a pick-six, and two sacks—all in just three games.
In the Mix: Contenders or Pretenders?
Balls Deep (3-1) – A High-Flying Offence
Benjamin Carli has been one of the league’s most electrifying quarterbacks, throwing for 788 passing yards and 19 passing touchdowns while adding 157 rushing yards and two more scores on the ground. The team’s playmaker, Steven Fioriti, has been a standout receiver, with 5 receiving touchdowns and 236 receiving yards in only three games played. Their only loss came against Flag Force One, who held them to just 24 points. Despite Steven Fioriti scoring all four offensive touchdowns, the team struggled to capitalize, failing to convert a single extra point attempt.
Les Ranceurs (3-1) – A Team That Grinds It Out
Les Ranceurs are the definition of scrappy. Their games are never easy, but they find a way to pull through. Eric Namts has been solid at quarterback in his debut season, throwing 16 passing touchdowns with just two picks, while Giovani Antonacci and Kyle Martel continue to be forces in the red zone. The defence, has been making clutch plays at the right time.
Redzone (2-2) – A Team on the Brink
Sitting at .500, Redzone has had moments of brilliance and moments of frustration. Marc-Andre Reeves leads all quarterbacks in passing yards and touchdowns, but their defence has allowed 133 points. Didier Brisebois has been the backbone of their defence, primarily at the corner position, but I’d love to see him transition to safety, where his sure tackling and ball-hawking abilities could make a major impact across the middle of the field. With Marc-Andre Reeves putting up Quarterback of the Year stats across four games—throwing for 878 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns, zero interceptions thrown, and a QB rating of 135.7 with a 72.2% completion rate—this defence needs to step up to ensure his efforts don’t go to waste.

Redzone resembles this year’s Bengals—an explosive, high-powered offence, little to no defence, and an average record, all while putting up elite quarterback numbers. Koralie Leduc has been the top wide receiver, hauling in 18 catches for 210 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns, proving to be a reliable playmaker in their high-powered offence.
Struggles and Surprises
Ballhard University (2-2-1) – Inconsistent but Dangerous
Mack Dessources has been a one-man wrecking crew with 30 receptions for 410 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, leading all receivers in the division. However, their defence has struggled, allowing 131 points in five games.
No Pads, No Helmets, Just Ballz (1-4) – High-Powered but Flawed
Zacharie Quiviger has been good, with 16 total touchdowns, but their defence hasn’t been able to hold up. With 104 points allowed in five games, they’ll need other players to step up on defence, as Antoine Epstein has been carrying the load alone with 4 interceptions, 5 pass deflections, and 2 defensive touchdowns. If they want to climb out of the bottom half of the standings, they’ll need more contributions to make crucial stops.
