Breaking Down the Power Rankings & Predictions

The season is just beginning, but early frontrunners are emerging while others look to find their footing. With big performances, rising contenders, and key matchups ahead, the stage is set for an exciting season. Who will make the first statement?

Power Rankings

1️⃣ Bleue Dry 7.1 (2-0-0) 🔥

📊 Record: 2-0-0 | PF: 78 | PA: 18 | PD: +60
Bleue Dry 7.1 takes the top spot in the rankings with a dominant start to the season. Their offense is firing on all cylinders, and their defense has been nearly impenetrable, allowing only 18 points in two games. I believe Frederic Juneau is the best quarterback in the division, his ball placement and decision making separates him from every other quarterback in the division. You can’t talk about this team without mentioning Giovani Antonacci and Yvan Desjardins, their impact on both sides of the ball is on full display every game.

2️⃣ X-Men (2-0-0) ⏫

📊 Record: 2-0-0 | PF: 47 | PA: 31 | PD: +16
The X-Men are off to a solid start with two wins and a strong defensive presence. While their offensive output hasn’t been as explosive as Bleue Dry 7.1, they have shown the ability to get wins. Their next few games will determine if they can challenge for the top spot. Zack Sebestyen is an early candidate for receiver of the year, look out for him.

3️⃣ Primal (2-0-0) ⏫

📊 Record: 2-0-0 | PF: 75 | PA: 63 | PD: +12
Primal has shown they can put points on the board, but their defense has been a little shaky, allowing 63 points in two games. They’ll need to tighten up defensively if they want to stay in the top three as the competition heats up.

4️⃣ Five Guys (1-1-0) ⬆️

📊 Record: 1-1-0 | PF: 52 | PA: 59 | PD: -7
A middle-of-the-pack start for Five Guys, but they’ve got the firepower to compete with the top teams. Hopefully this team doesn’t have issues showing up with a consistent roster, they were a top team in the Fall season and can compete with any team with their full roster.

5️⃣ Quebec U16A (0-1-0) ⬇️

📊 Record: 0-1-0 | PF: 13 | PA: 20 | PD: -7
Quebec U16A has only played one game, so it’s too early to judge them harshly. Show me what you got!

6️⃣ CTE (0-2-0) ⬇️

📊 Record: 0-2-0 | PF: 58 | PA: 65 | PD: -7
CTE has had a tough start, but they’ve been competitive, losing close games. If they can turn things around defensively, they will start picking up wins. I think this is the best roster in the division.

7️⃣ Gamblers Anonymous (0-2-0) ⬇️

📊 Record: 0-2-0 | PF: 49 | PA: 82 | PD: -33
A rough start for Gamblers Anonymous, who are struggling on both sides of the ball. They did play 2 very good teams to start so I will give them a break. I think right now they need to focus on their chemistry and things will start to fall into place.

8️⃣ Quebec U16B (0-1-0) ⬇️

📊 Record: 0-1-0 | PF: 6 | PA: 40 | PD: -34
Quebec U16B has the worst point differential so far, but with only one game played, there’s still room for improvement. They’ll need to regroup, plenty of season left.

Matchup Previews & Predictions

Sunday, Feb 2 – 18:00

📍 Stinger Dome [A]
🏈 Quebec U16B (0-1-0) vs. Quebec U16A (0-1-0)
📝 Prediction: Quebec U16A
Both teams enter this matchup still looking for their first win of the season. Quebec U16A has shown slightly more defensive stability, keeping their first game close despite the loss. Quebec U16B, on the other hand, struggled on both sides of the ball, allowing 40 points in their opener. If U16A can take advantage of their opponent’s defensive struggles, they should walk away with their first victory.

Sunday, Feb 2 – 19:00

📍 Stinger Dome [A]
🏈 Gamblers Anonymous (0-2-0) vs. Quebec U16A (0-1-0)
📝 Prediction: Gamblers Anonymous
Gamblers Anonymous has had a rough start, but their offense has shown flashes of potential, putting up 49 points in two games. Quebec U16A will be coming off a game, and fatigue could be a factor. If Gamblers Anonymous can capitalize on this and clean up their defense, they should be able to secure their first win of the season.

Monday, Feb 3 – 22:00

📍 CSJV [1]
🏈 Bleue Dry 7.1 (2-0-0) vs. Five Guys (1-1-0)
📝 Prediction: Bleue Dry 7.1
Bleue Dry 7.1 has been the most dominant team in the league so far, with a staggering +60 point differential in just two games. Five Guys will have a tough challenge ahead, especially with their defense allowing 59 points in their first two matchups. If Bleue Dry continues their all-around dominance, they should remain undefeated after this one.

Wednesday, Feb 5 – 22:15

📍 Laval (Dome) [3]
🏈 X-Men (2-0-0) vs. Primal (2-0-0)
📝 Prediction: Primal
This is the matchup of the week—two undefeated teams going head-to-head. Primal has been one of the highest-scoring teams, but their defense has been shaky, allowing 63 points in two games. X-Men, on the other hand, have been more balanced, with a solid defense backing up their offensive efforts. I think Primal has the advantage in this one, they walk away with the win.
