Back at it!!! Rundown of Division 3!

Hey FPF family!! Feels so good to be back in action! For those of you who do not know me, I’m Will Power. I will be writing the articles for division 3 this season. I’ve been playing FPF since Spring 2015. This season I will be playing on Blessed in division 2, Preach in division 3, and Hot Sauce Sports in division 4. Excited to see you all at the fields. I wanna thank Rob, Peeze, Iggy, and the entire FPF media crew for giving me this opportunity! Alright, enough dilly dally and let’s get right into it!

-The first thing I noticed is that division 3 seems to be incredibly strong this year. You could definitely make the argument that many of these teams could more than compete in division 2. Exciting to see studs all across the board throughout the division!

-The Junkyard Dogs impress with a 47-24 victory over KGP Ra. Jason Rossie finished the game with 6 TDS and 0 picks, while his brother, Jordan, picked off Ryan Garber twice and returned one for a touchdown. JYD has been around for a while and you get the sense this might be their year. You got a plethora of 2-way players in Hugo Allamanno, Vincent Benjamin, Joey Notaro, Riley Pincombe and the list goes on. Do not sleep on JYD…

-I could not have been the only one surprised to see that 24 of 29 teams in the division will make the postseason. 8 teams will receive a first round bye. So for those who think the regular season ain’t all that important… Think again.

Etienne-Laurence Gervais is trying out this season as QB for EZW. While his stats from his week 1 loss won’t impress many, do not let that fool you. He throws a pretty ball, can scramble, and let’s just say his receivers had a case of the drops week 1. I look for Gervais to continue to get better week in and week out.

-Is Stephen Harripersaud “too good” to throw in division 3? Imagine thinking that about a 4 foot 10 QB who runs a slower 40 time than both my grandmothers combined… (I can say that because he’s my QB) Funny enough, you can make the argument that he is. However, look at a guy like Adam Sinagra. I don’t think anyone would be surprised to see him throwing in division 1. I think this just shows the level of talent in the division that I alluded to. One thing’s certain, Harripersaud isn’t taking anything for granted, and in his words he’s just “here to have fun!”

-Une Phrase Bien Fournie seem to be mainly tackle football guys from McGill. Love seeing that in FPF! They had a tough week 1 but I expect things to get easier for them as the season progresses.

-It’s nice to see Blue Chips back after taking several seasons off. While I have never played against them, I do know that they are an exciting and very athletic team. QB Jordan Mitchell is as elusive as they come. In his week 1 victory over Never Overtime he rushed for 71 yards and a TD on only 5 carries.

-Playoffs and the Miami Dolphins do not usually go together. I have waited 6 years to see my boys play some meaningful football in January. Skylar Thompson, you ready to pull of an upset for the ages!!!???

-Blue’s Clues have ballers from A to Z. Surprising they were even able to fit the cap with guys like Isiah Allard, AJ Gomes, Tam Vilaydeth, and Nick Groppini. They had a tough out VS Free Smoke 1 week 1 where they only put 7 points. I am still excited for this team. Gomes is throwing for Blue’s Clues. While he hasn’t thrown much in his FPF career, he knows the game inside and out, has a strong arm, and has other QBs on the team that can guide him to a solid year.

-Cool to see some of my buddies from MFL put a team together! ALPHA DOGS are filled with flag football junkies that know and love the game. They made an early statement with an impressive 47-24 win over The Stoics. See you boys at the field!

-Green Munchs are sitting at 2-0 and have beaten two very good teams in Les Maloudes and The Infantry. I don’t know too much about this team, but look forward to seeing them play live in action!

END OF YEAR PREDICTIONS

No matter the sports leagues, I have always enjoyed giving my championship winner before the season starts… Forgive me for being a little late on this one. There are so many good teams in div 3 and I could make a case for several different championships matchups. However, I need to pick one. So I’m gonna go with BLACKOUTS BEATING SILENT TICKLERS for this year’s division 3 championship!! Silent Ticklers have been around for a while. Jordan Panetta has potentially the best deep ball in the division. His connection with Daniel Mancini is something special. Then you throw in guys like Adam Rosen and Tyson Otis Copeland. This team will be tough to beat.

Blackouts have always been a great team, but the addition of division 1 stud Quaid Johnson will make this squad that much better. I am not even sure you could afford to double him or play a high-low concept on him because of the other receivers they have. Ryan Vanslet continues to take FPF by storm, and Michael Khazaka and Anthony Mungiovi are both speedsters. What more does Sinagra need?

Time for my weekly predictions!!! Winners are in bold.

Silent Tickles vs Blue Chips

Blackouts vs Les Maloudes

Green Munch’s vs Blue’s Clues

Greendale Human Beings vs Speed Academy

Junkyard Dogs vs Preach – N/A

Les Gros Coqs vs Bearskins

Free Smoke 1 vs EZW

Mangoose vs Arouch

Backyard Bullies vs G.I.H.F.

Les Verges Folles vs That’s What She Said

I’ll try and provide a bold prediction for every week. For this week I’m gonna go with both Silent Ticklers and Blue Chips putting up 50+ points in their matchup this week!! Saturday, 7PM, Lachine. Be there if you wanna see a great offensive showdown.

Alright folks that’s it for this week. Most articles will be a little longer and more detailed, but hope you enjoyed it just the same! Pumped to be back in action. Here’s to an awesome 2023 filled with touchdowns, interceptions, and some highlight reel plays! Don’t hesitate to hit me up on Facebook with your thoughts on the article! Until we meet again…

Stay Blessed
