Weekly Headlines
Only 3 matches this week
A little availability issue across the league here as not many fields and hours were available to us in week 7 and 8. Not many games happening throughout FPF and even less in tier 2 as this division has only 3 matchups this week.
5 Qbs have hit 30 TD Mark
Ben McMahon, Jules Regimbald, Ignacio Manzanedo, Alexandre Fafard, Eric Lalonde have all surpassed 30 TD passes. Lets start with the leader of the bunch Ben McMahon who has played 7 games and thrown 36 passing touchdowns. The Qb for Ambush has had a great statistical year as he leads the division in yards and Td’s at the moment. 1500 yards in 7 games is a pretty ridiculous number. In a regular 10 game season he would have no issues surpassing 2k yards. Unfortunately for Ambush their suburb QB play hasn’t resulted in many wins as they are a .500 team. Then we have last seasons Div C QBOY Jules Regimbald, QB of Dime and Bougie. In 7 games he has thrown 35 TD’s and 1300 yards with only 1 INT. So far his stats have been the divisions best and have been winning week after week with a record of 6-1. Next up we have my pick for the falls QBOY, Iggy Manzanedo. In just 6 games he has thrown for 34 touchdowns, 5 INT’s and 1250 yards. With a game behind I think Iggy is on schedule to surpass these Qb’s above in total touchdowns and yards and an undefeated record I might add. Iggy is doing exactly what I expected him to do and another 2 games to solidify his season performance. The 4th & 5th QB’s are Alexandre Fafard of Beer Belly Brigade and Eric Lalonde for arouch. Both QBs have thrown 30 TDs so far and over 6 INT’s. They have had solid season putting up numbers but their turnover numbers are higher then the top 3 Qbs of the season and is what is keeping them behind on the stat sheet and on the score board.
The Stoics Upset Les Potes a Bessette
With the addition of Hall of fame WR Aj Gomes, The Stoics offence is much more potent. I had predicted Les Potes a Bessette to get a W last week after a tough loss 46-40 loss to ambush. I expected Frédéric Paquette-Perrault and friends would have a bounce back game and improve their record to 3-3. But The Stoics had other plans. Instead it was Chris Rivest who had a day and only incomplete 5 passes without a turnover. Throwing 6 TDs and 2 to AJ Gomes leading them to a close 42-39 win. Les Potes a Bessette attempted a late comeback as they scored with only a few plays remaining to bring the game within 6 points but were unable to convert on the onside kick and that was the game. The Stoics are now 2-2-1 and might be able to finish in the top bracket if this team shows up every week.
Game of The week
EZW (4-1) vs The Stoics (2-2-1)
In a season punctuated by thrilling plays and heart-stopping moments, the stage is set for a battle as EZW squares off against The Stoics in this week’s Game of the Week. With a record of 4-1, EZW has proven themselves as a force in tier 2 with, their only loss coming at the hands of the undefeated Kiss My Inlaws Team. Meanwhile, The Stoics, at 2-2-1, are poised for a resurgence, determined to turn the tide and carve their path to success. The tale of the tape for quarterbacks reveals an intriguing narrative. Jeremy White of EZW has been nothing short of exceptional, tallying an impressive 27 touchdowns and a mere 2 interceptions. His only blemish is that he is the most sacked QB in the division with 15 but so far that hasn’t impacted their offence much. White’s ability to maintain composure, move in the pocket and deliver precision passes has been the cornerstone of EZW’s offense. On the opposing side, Chris Rivest of The Stoics has exhibited a level of ball security that’s been instrumental in their performances. Rivest boasts an impressive 23 touchdowns and just one interception, showcasing his ability to protect the ball and steer his team toward victory. While The Stoics lack a standout receiver, the potential presence of AJ Gomes injects an element of unpredictability, keeping EZW’s defense on high alert. In contrast, EZW’s Samuel Pelchat has emerged as a reliable target for Jeremy White, leading his team in receptions and touchdowns. Pelchat’s ability to consistently make big plays has established him as White’s go-to option in critical situations. This is a game for the Stoics to show they have what it takes to compete with the top teams of tier 2 and establish their presence in tier 2. I believe wether Aj Gomes shows up for The Stoics they will make it a game but they can win either way. The Stoics have surprised me all season so I’m going to ride the wave and pick the Stoics in another upset against a top team.

Quaid Johnson light up the Sky for Dirty Birds last week versus Junkyard Dogs. In a display of quarterback mastery, Quaid soared to new heights in Week 6. WR: Simon Losier- Arouch
In a season marked by exceptional displays of receiving talent, Simon Losier’s performance of Team Arouch undeniably stood out this week as the best receiving day. In a recent clash against Fins Up, Losier demonstrated his mastery of the position, amassing an impressive 101 receiving yards. What truly set him apart, however, were his three touchdowns! His impeccable route running and sure-handedness in the red zone propelled this offense in a much needed way against the top defence of Fins Up. Despite an unfortunate 2-point loss, Losier’s performance was nothing short of extraordinary, leaving an indelible mark on the game. With a knack for turning routine plays into highlights, Simon Losier’s contributions to Arouch’s offense have been nothing short of invaluable as he leads the team with 15 TD’s !!! Making him a contender for the title of Receiver of the Year.
DEF: Alexis Dubois- Kiss My Inlaws
In a display of defensive brilliance, Alexis Dubois, a seasoned vet of the Kiss My Inlaws, left an indelible mark on the field last week. Dubois orchestrated a defensive clinic, tallying an astounding three interceptions, further bolstering his season total to an impressive five. His uncanny ability to read the opposing quarterback’s intentions and make crucial plays in the secondary was nothing short of spectacular in their latest win. Dubois’ impact didn’t stop there, relentlessly snatching flags, amassing an impressive eight tackles on the day. His unwavering presence and keen defensive instincts disrupted the opponent’s game plan, leaving them frustrated and flustered. With a knack for making game-changing plays, Alexis Dubois continues to be an anchor in Kiss My Inlaws’ defense. Making him someone that all QB’s in tier 2 should be aware of.
2-WAY: Nicolas Curotte- Beer Belly Brigade
Nicolas Curotte of the Beer Belly Brigade showcased his exceptional versatility in a standout 2-way performance during Week 6. On the offensive end, Curotte proved to be a reliable target, amassing an impressive 90 receiving yards and a crucial touchdown. His ability to create separation and make clutch receptions is needed for his team’s success. Curotte’s impact wasn’t confined to just one side of the ball. On defense, he exhibited great ball-hawking skills, securing a pivotal interception that further solidified the Brigade’s dominance. This dual-threat display exemplified Curotte’s athleticism and football IQ, making him a true asset for Beer Belly Brigade. His ability to excel on offense and defense cements his status as a standout performer and a player to watch in future matchups.
