The last power rankings of the season!
Peeze’s Playbook
Week 10
by Paolo Della Rocca
As the regular season is set to come to a close, this is my last chance (as well as Marc-Andre Desaulniers) to reflect on who we think the top 16 teams are. As this is the last week, I will be positing short entries all week that will update the playoff picture and add some texture to the divisional breakdowns.
- Los Avocados (9-0): It takes a lot of discipline to beat this team. It turns outs seen on GOTW, I didn’t have that discipline. Los Avocados are good. Plain and simple.
- Glogang (9-0): I thought that the game against Bruins may be a trap game for them. Arno Desjardins was not having it.
- Rancerz (8-1): Rancerz haven’t lost since week 4. They are rolling and look forward to the post season.
- Guardians (8-1): Guardians only loss has come to Avocados. While that did slow the mooing, it has’t slowed Guardians one bit.
- Pension Plan (6-2-1): Vince Pisano is reinventing himself as a receiver. Pension Plan seem to have handled the worst case scenario as best as possible.
- The U (7-2): Tim Horner, needed to spend a day at quarterback and it was not great. It’s hard t step in and fill the gap for a starting qb. That said, Evan Frank will be back for the post season.
- Ducks (5-3-1): The Ducks haven’t lost since June 3rd. Their season has been steadily improving. I like what they’ve done in the second act.
- Vultures (6-3): The record is not entirely representative. They have had a tough schedule and while the playoffs will only have tough matchups, it’s unlikely team faces this quality of competition in the ten weeks of the regular season.
- Underdogs (7-2): I’ve been impressed by Underdogs. Jonah Eisenberg has quietly put together a great season. He has 11 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
- Zone 6 Ballers (6-3): The performances have been uneven but it does appear the Alessandro Barazzoni has firmly planted his flag into the qb position.
- Fighting Flamingos (5-3-1): FF were bound to lose again and week 9 is where it happened. Something seems off about Fighting Flamingos this season.
- Los Banditos (6-3): They have one of the top defences in division E. However, it’s rare for them to play well on both sides of the ball. This team is good, they just need to put it together
- One Speed Power (6-3): No Will, No Power.
- Clinkers (6-3): Season long, this team has been good, the second half of the season has seemed very ordinary.
- Bruins (5-4): Given that they just lost to Rancerz and GloGang, I don’t think they are true contenders. However, they will play everyone tough.
- Savages (6-3): Savages have a huge test as the face Underdogs this week. Let’s see if this allows them to round out the top 16.
Top 16 – 10e semaine
