Power Rankings Week 5 edition

It turns out I bit off a little more than I can chew this week.  I decided to release just my power rankings this week.  However, stay tuned for multiple entries next week.  There will be recaps from week 4, week 5, some thoughts and some other content that is sure to keep you content.  Remember you can also find my picks on in Marc-Andre Desaulniers article so have a look at how when you have a moment as well.

Power Rankings

  1. GloGang (4-0): In their toughest matchup yet, GloGang beat up Rancerz early and never let up.  This was a game where GloGang appears to have found their footing.
  2. Guardians (4-0): Now more than ever do I believe this team may be too strong for the division on the whole.
  3. Pension Plan (3-1): The injury to Vince Pisano likely means this team will drop down this list in weeks to come.  Get well soon big guy.
  4. Clinkers (4-0):  They beat an undermanned Dude Where’s the Endzone.  This was a game they probably would have won anyway but they seemed a little too happy to beat up on 5 guys.
  5. Los Avocados (4-0): They have answered every challenge so far and their strength of schedule suggests that they’re not just beating up on cupcakes.  Who would do that to a delicious treat?
  6. Loyola’s Finest (3-1): They passed their first test with an asterisk. Vince Pisano was hurt for Pension plan and even when he was throwing he was obviously in some discomfort.  With one of the most difficult schedules ahead, Loyola’s Finest will have plenty of opportunities to prove themselves.  Their next four opponents have a combined record of 11-5.
  7. Rancerz (3-1): A loss to one of the division’s top teams isn’t a huge deal.  However, what’s more concerning is Jeremie Ledoux being intercepted 3 times in that loss.
  8. One Speed: Power (3-1): Started down 12-0, OSP did not allow another point for the rest of the game. OSP is averaging 3 interceptions a game and setting up their rookie QB with lots of opportunities to score.
  9. Bruins (3-1): The prodigal son returns this week.  When Gab Wiseman went down to injury/many beautiful European woman, I don’t think he expected he’d be returning to a team that has won three straight games.
  10. The U (3-1): The lost to Fighting Flamingos this week after starting 3-0.  However, even in their loss they scored 26 points.  I will always favor teams that can score.
  11. Zone 6 Ballers (3-1): For weeks we discussed whether or not Averae Joe’s would withstand their first test.  It turns out Z6B were that first test and Zone 6 handed an undefeated team their first loss.
  12. Vultures (3-1): Owen Bujarski has been slotted in at qb and the team looked a lot better outright.  I would expect this change to be permanent.
  13. Savages (2-2): This pick is a little speculative.  I think Savages are good and their one score loss to Guardians is as impressive as their win over EZW.
  14. EZW (2-2): Consider me shocked that CO Lavigne had only three catches for 18 yards.  Expect a bounce back in week 4.
  15. Number Juan (4-0):I must admit, it’s getting a little ridiculous.  This team keeps winning and yet we have less and less reason to think they aren’t worthy of their record.  I’ll tell you what however, if they beat Zone 6 Ballers this week, they’ll jump up quickly.
  16. Bulldogs (2-2): I must admit this was a little more feel than results.  They got handled by Los Avocados.  However, I will say that this may be the shakeup

Marc-Andre’s Top 16

Sunday’s Scientific Scuttlebutt

The season has almost reached the half way point.  It is amazing to think that the season is almost half-done.  August fifth looms ahead but for many it is time for tweaking and adjustments.
