Coed 2 Playoffs Update

NATIONAL FLAG RANKING
As flag football continues to surge in popularity across Canada, one of the most anticipated events of the spring calendar is just around the corner.
From May 9–11, Concordia University Stadium in Montreal will play host to the 2025 National Flag Ranking 5v5 Flag Football Tournament — a marquee event bringing together multiple talent levels from across the country in what promises to be a weekend of high-intensity competition and community celebration.
Divisions for All Ages and Levels
The tournament features a wide range of divisions catering to youth and adult players alike. For younger participants, co-ed brackets include 10U through 16U, with additional girls-only categories at each age level. Adult divisions include Men’s Pro, Men’s Gauntlet (with tiered skill levels), University, Ladies Only, and Co-Ed/Mixed, where teams must field at least two female players at all times.
The format guarantees every team at least four games — three pool play matchups followed by a single-elimination playoff bracket. Games are fast-paced, with 24-minute run time clocks and just one minute for halftime. Adult games will be played Friday and Saturday evenings, while youth games run Saturday and Sunday during daytime hours.
Organizers are clear that division sizes are capped. Once filled, additional teams will be placed on a waitlist. Early registration is strongly encouraged.
Hardware and Cash on the Line
In addition to competition, teams will be playing for prizes. Champions in the Men’s Pro Division will earn a $1,500 cash prize. Other adult divisions, including University, Ladies Only, Gauntlet, and Mixed, will see $500 cash prizes awarded to winning teams. Youth division champions will also receive rings.
A Weekend Worth the Trip
With the tournament taking place in the heart of Montreal, teams are encouraged to treat the event as a full-team experience. For many squads outside of the city, this tournament presents an opportunity to blend competition with camaraderie — and enjoy the sights, culture, and food of Montreal along the way.
Registration Now Open
The entry fee for teams is $375 CAD, with rosters capped at 12 players and 2 coaches. Teams must carry a minimum of six players to be eligible. Registration is available now at NationalFlagRanking.com
Youth divisions will require age verification, and any attempts at roster manipulation will be met with strict disciplinary action. National Flag Ranking has emphasized its commitment to fair play and competitive integrity across all divisions.
The regular season is officially in the books, and what a wild ride it was. From underdog stories to powerhouse performances, Coed 2 gave us everything this winter—big plays, breakout stars, and teams that refused to back down.
Now, with Round 1 of the playoffs complete, the real chaos is just getting started.
Let’s recap the Divisional Round action, and preview what’s coming next!
Divisional Round Recap: Chaos Ensues
🚀 Team Rocket 27 – 12 Who’s Going to Carry the Boats
Team Rocket did what a #1 seed should—take care of business. Behind Guillaume Beland’s four-touchdown performance and strong defensive contributions from Marilou Beland and Nassim Ouadhi, Rocket never allowed Boats to get into a rhythm. Boats put up a good fight, but Rocket’s composure and talent ultimately made the difference.
🏈 Michael Scott’s Tots 33 – 28 McNuggies
One of the most thrilling matchups of the round! David De Andrade, throwing four touchdowns and avoiding interceptions. McNuggies fought hard behind Mederic Lauzon’s four-touchdown effort, but ultimately the Tots’ defense made just enough stops to survive and advance.
Fun Fact: Kenny Boutilier and Chloe Brazeau-Gelinas both had clutch defensive interceptions that helped seal the deal!
🐸 Crazy Frogs 34 – 18 Mean Machines
The Crazy Frogs continued their hot streak, handling Mean Machines with a dominant two-way performance. Edouard Leroux was near flawless through the air (4 passing touchdowns) while Nicolas Charvest pulled down a critical interception to keep the Frogs comfortably ahead.
Under the Radar: Charles Verreault had 78 receiving yards and a touchdown, showing off big-play ability when it mattered.
🐍 Venom 43 – 12 Balls Deep
Venom made a serious statement. Paul Lapierre lit it up with five touchdown passes and spread the ball around effortlessly. Meanwhile, Venom’s defense, led by Noëlla Simba and Sharlyn Vixamar (both with interceptions), completely shut down the usually dangerous Balls Deep offense.
Highlight: Tayles Jean-Baptiste caught two touchdowns and added a convert to cap off a dominant performance.
🐙 LDN 28 – 24 No Pads, No Helmets, Just Ballz
LDN got a serious scare here. Samuel Omombo carried the team on his back, throwing for four touchdowns while also leading the defense with 10 tackles. No Pads pushed them to the limit, but LDN found a way to hold on and escape with a narrow win.
What a Battle: Bruno Provencher for No Pads finished with 102 yards and three touchdowns, making this one a nail-biter till the end.
🏹 Redzone 30 – 0 Daycare (Forfeit)
Unfortunately, Daycare was unable to field a team, handing Redzone the automatic ticket to the Quarterfinals. Tough way to end a great season for Daycare.
🛡️ Kamikaze 28 – 25 Block Party
Kamikaze pulled off the win, overcoming a 19-point second-half surge by Block Party. Maxime Giroux threw four touchdowns, and the defense—led by Effee Petrone’s six tackles—came up huge in the final moments.
Stat to Know: Jean-Sebastien St-Arneault caught two touchdown passes and a crucial sack to help lift Kamikaze.
⚡ Tonix 26 – 18 Les Ranceurs
Tonix kept their season alive with an impressive win over Les Ranceurs. David Michaud was composed, throwing three touchdowns and rushing for another, while the defense held strong against a potent Ranceurs passing attack.
Clutch: Tonix scored in both halves consistently, never allowing Les Ranceurs to gain momentum after a 0 point first half.
