Predictions on Individual Awards
Almost at the end of the season for both divisions, teams are starting to solidify their final standings, determining where they will sit heading into the playoffs and who they might face in the first round. The end of the season also means individual awards are coming soon… Who will win Best QB of the Season? Who will be the 2-way player this season? Let’s make some predictions!
*Important: I have no say in who wins what. Players are chosen based on statistics and performance during the season. This is just for fun. Thank you!*
Coed 1
Quarterback
Benjamin Carli (Balls Deep) or Jimmy-Lee Janvier (Kiss My End Zone)
Jimmy-Lee Janvier has held the title of “Season Leader” for most of the season. He wrapped up his season saturday with 160/242 pass completions (66.1%), 1,784 yards, and 52 touchdowns, while only being intercepted 4 times and sacked 10 times— an average of just 1 sack per game, which isn’t much.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Carli currently sits in second place with 143/233 pass completions (61.5%), 1,453 yards, and 39 touchdowns. He’s also been intercepted 6 times and sacked 8 times. However, Carli has only played 9 games, meaning he has 1 more to go. While he may not catch up to Jimmy-Lee in yardage and touchdowns, Carli’s rushing ability has been a major factor in his success. In terms of rushing yards, he leads the league, but ultimately, being a quarterback is about making those key passes.
Both quarterbacks are great, with different playing styles, but my prediction slightly leans toward Jimmy-Lee Janvier for Best Quarterback of the Fall 2024 season.
2-Way Player
Isiah Allard or Felix Gerin-Lajoie (Kiss My End Zone)
This one is a tough call, as both players have made significant contributions on both sides of the ball.
Isiah Allard finished the season with 41/59 catches, 602 yards, and 23 touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 5 tackles, 3 interceptions (1 returned for a touchdown), 6 sacks, and 9 pass deflections. His ability to impact both the offense and defense makes him a serious contender for the 2-way player award.
Felix Gerin-Lajoie, on the other hand, had 45/60 catches, 469 yards, and 14 touchdowns. Defensively, he posted 19 tackles, 2 interceptions (1 returned for a touchdown), 1 sack, and 2 pass deflections. With different rushing style’s on defense, Isiah has more of a hands up approach and can take away a big part of the field with his height while Felix has more speed and can follow the QB around is he tends to scramble behind the line of scrimmage. Both approaches are very different but good, them being on the same team definitely helps their teammates when playing against different styles of Quarterbacks. While Felix is a strong performer in terms of speed, Isiah’s contributions on both offense and defense stand out just a bit more.
Based on the stats, my prediction is for Isiah Allard to take home the 2-way player award.
Women’s
Quarterback
Sandrine Gobeil-Huot (Vortex) or Geneviève Fortier (Subzero)
Sandrine Gobeil-Huot has been incredibly efficient, finishing the season with 130/184 pass completions (70.7%), 1,750 yards, and 41 touchdowns, while only being intercepted 3 times and sacked 4 times. Despite playing only 7 games, she has been the most productive QB in the league.
Geneviève Fortier, who played just 6 games due to the return of Subzero’s original quarterback, posted 126/164 pass completions (76.8%), 1,561 yards, and 39 touchdowns. She was also intercepted 3 times and sacked twice.
Both QB’s have a different way of playing however they both have amazing players on their roster who can do as much damage on the field, to which they greatly contributed to their quarterback’s success. Sandrine has been playing with some of her receivers for a while therefore she has a connexion that Genevieve doesn’t necessarily have with her’s, as she is not their original quarterback. Both quarterbacks have played incredibly well, and while Geneviève has had less time on the field, she’s made the most of her opportunities. However, Sandrine’s additional game and slightly better stats make her the stronger contender.
My prediction is for Sandrine Gobeil-Huot to win Best Quarterback of the Women’s Division.
2-Way Player
Marie-Joelle Vandal (Les Crocs) vs. Sabrina Gervais (Subzero)
Both players have put up impressive stats this season.
Marie-Joelle Vandal finished with 50/65 catches, 664 yards, and 14 touchdowns, averaging 13.3 yards per catch. Defensively, she posted 23 tackles, 15 interceptions (1 returned for a touchdown), and 5 pass deflections. MJ being a standout player this season, the way she pushes herself on the field definitely pulled through and shows in her statistics. Underrated player? Absolutely. People have yet to know her talent and will be known in FPF for her performances. She will be a player to look out for when playing against.
Sabrina Gervais had 44/48 catches, 614 yards, and 14 touchdowns, averaging 14 yards per catch. On defense, she registered 33 tackles, 14 interceptions (2 returned for touchdowns), and 7 pass deflections. Being a stud as we already know, she keeps doing amazing on the field and definitely has the talent as a flag football player which shows by the way she gets around the field.
While MJ has been a standout on both offense and defense, Sabrina’s superior defensive stats give her the edge.
Given her all-around performance, Sabrina Gervais is my prediction for 2-way player of the season.
