Game Recap: DA Braves vs. Blessed – A Tight Victory for Blessed

First Half Highlights

The game started with Blessed on offense. Quarterback Stephen Harripersaud quickly connected with William Power for a 21-yard gain, moving Blessed downfield with ease. After a few short passes, Harripersaud found Marvin Steinberg for a 9-yard touchdown. Blessed attempted a 2-point conversion but came up short, giving them a 6-0 lead.

DA Braves responded quickly with quarterback Jonathan Maheu leading the charge. Maheu completed two long passes, an 18-yarder to Emile Chateauvert and a 17-yard pass to Jean-Daniel Chevalier, putting Da Braves in scoring position. Maheu capped off the drive with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Phil Pharand. Like Blessed, Da Braves’ 2-point attempt failed, tying the game at 6-6.

Blessed picked up where they left off on the following drive, with Harripersaud finding Power for an 11-yard gain followed by a 20-yard completion. The drive culminated in a 5-yard touchdown pass to Power, pushing Blessed ahead 12-6, though they failed on the 2-point conversion again.

DA Braves were determined to keep scoring as well. A short and very efficient drive would finish with a 12-yard touchdown pass to JP St-Pierre. This time, Da Braves converted the 2-point try, giving them a 14-12 lead.

Blessed didn’t waste time answering back. Harripersaud hit Laurent Foucault and Carl Achy for solid gains, setting up a 3-yard touchdown to Achy. After successfully converting for 2 points, Blessed took a 20-14 lead.

 DA Braves continued to push forward, with Maheu completing passes to Chevalier and Champagne. However, their drive stalled right before halftime, and Blessed ended the half on top 20-14.

Second Half Action

DA Braves started the second half strongly, with Maheu getting back into his rhythm. A 15-yard touchdown pass to Champagne, followed by a successful two point conversion would put Da Braves up 22-20

Blessed responded with Harripersaud spreading the ball around, connecting with James Langshaw and William Power to move downfield. A key 17-yard pass to Achy for a touchdown would put Blessed back on top 26-22

 DA Braves refused to go down, with Maheu leading his team down the field. He connected with Chevalier for a 17-yard gain and eventually found Pharand for another touchdown. Once again, they missed the 2-point conversion, leaving the score at 26-28.

Blessed struck back quickly. Harripersaud connected with Marvin Steinberg for a huge 22-yard touchdown, giving Blessed the lead at 32-28. This time, they successfully converted for 2 points, making it 34-28.

With time running out, DA Braves mounted a final comeback attempt. Maheu found Pharand for a 28-yard touchdown, bringing them within 2 points at 34-32. Despite their best efforts, Blessed’s defense held strong, and the game ended when Blessed capitalized on a crucial defensive play to seal the win.

Final Score: Blessed 42, DA Braves 40

Game Recap: DA Braves vs. EZW – A Narrow Victory for EZW

First Half Highlights

The game kicked off with EZW quarterback Jeremy White being aggressive early, connecting with Samuel Emilio Pelchat for an 8-yard gain and then again for a 14-yard completion. This early offensive surge was capped by an 18-yard touchdown pass to Maxime Boucher-Cyr, giving EZW a quick lead. They successfully converted for 2 points, making it 8-0.

 DA Braves answered with quarterback Jonathan Maheu leading a drive that featured completions to Felix Gerin-Lajoie and Lauriane Beauchamp. Maheu would find Beauchamp for a 3-yard touchdown to give DA Braves their first 6 points. However, their attempt at a 2-point conversion failed, leaving them trailing 8-6.

EZW would strike again quickly as Jeremy White connected with Nicolas Blais for a 40-yard touchdown. They added an extra point, pushing their lead to 15-6. DA Braves of course never go away as they hit back with Maheu finding Beauchamp for a massive 29-yard gain. Shortly after, Maheu hit Isiah Allard for a 6-yard touchdown, but another missed 2-point conversion left the score at 15-12.

The following drive for EZW saw White’s second pass attempt get intercepted by Maheu, giving DA Braves a chance to take the lead. Unfortunately for DA Braves, Maheu was picked off by Nicolas Blais on the following play, allowing EZW to regain possession. White capitalized on this, leading a drive that ended with a 6-yard touchdown pass to Etienne Laurence-Gervais, extending EZW’s lead to 23-12 after a successful 2-point conversion.

Second Half Action

 DA Braves opened the second half eager to close the gap. Maheu started connecting with his receivers, including a 16-yard touchdown to Allard. This time, they successfully converted for 2 points, cutting EZW’s lead to 23-20.

However, EZW responded. White led a drive and found Laurence-Gervais for a 33-yard touchdown, pushing the score to 30-20 after another extra point. Despite the back-and-forth action, DA Braves refused to back down. Maheu led his team downfield, connecting with Emile Chateauvert for a touchdown. With a successful 2-point conversion, the Braves pulled back within striking distance at 30-28.

As the game drew closer to the end, White once again displayed his poise under pressure, orchestrating a drive that ended with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Alexandre Barros. However, their extra point attempt was unsuccessful, leaving the score at 36-28.

In the final moments, Maheu and the DA Braves tried to mount a comeback attempt. Maheu found Gerin-Lajoie and Beauchamp for crucial gains, eventually connecting with Beauchamp for a 1-yard touchdown. The score now stood at 36-34, with the Braves just 2 points behind. EZW however would hold strong and seal a victory.

Game Recap: Dzod Team vs. Run it Once – A Dominant Win for Run it Once

First Half Highlights

Run it Once came out safe, with quarterback Jeff Rosenblatt quickly finding Paul Lapierre for a 6-yard completion. Despite an early sack by Francois Hogue that resulted in a loss of 7 yards, Rosenblatt bounced back, converting a critical 4th down with a 5-yard pass to Jerome Hovington. The drive culminated in a 15-yard touchdown pass to Lapierre, giving Run it Once the first points of the game. They converted for 2 points, taking an early 8-0 lead.

Dzod Team responded with a big 33-yard pass from quarterback Jeanslee Alexis to Hassane Ait Yala, putting them in scoring position. However, their momentum was cut short when Alexis was intercepted by Manu Allard-Roy, allowing Run it Once to take over. Rosenblatt capitalized on the turnover, connecting with James Drysdale for a 38-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 14-0. Their 2-point attempt was unsuccessful.

Dzod Team struggled to gain traction as incomplete passes and a sack by James Drysdale halted their offensive progress. Run it Once kept applying pressure, with Rosenblatt finding Drysdale again for a 29-yard touchdown before the half. With an extra point added, Run it Once went into halftime with a commanding 21-0 lead.

Second Half Action

Dzod Team came out with urgency in the second half, but their offensive struggles continued. After a few incomplete passes, they were forced to punt. Meanwhile, Run it Once kept their foot on the gas, with Rosenblatt connecting with Jerome Hovington for a 9-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 27-0.

Dzod Team finally found some momentum when Alexis hit Jeff Carpentier for a huge 40-yard touchdown. However, their attempt at an onside pass failed, allowing Run it Once to maintain control of the game.

As the game progressed, Rosenblatt continued to dominate, connecting with Lapierre for another touchdown, extending the lead to 33-6. Although Rosenblatt threw an interception late in the game, Dzod Team’s comeback attempts were too little, too late. Vincy Biandé managed to connect with Carpentier for another touchdown, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.

In the final minutes, Run it Once added one more touchdown with a short pass to Jerome Hovington, sealing a dominant victory. Dzod Team managed to score one last touchdown with a 40-yard pass from Alexis to Jordanson Alexis, but the damage was already done.

League Standings Update

At the midpoint of the season, the competition is heating up, with teams jostling for position. Vengeance leads the standings with a strong 3-1 record, scoring 141 points while allowing 104, giving them a solid +37 point differential. Hot on their heels is Run it Once, also 3-1, but with the league’s best point differential (+45).

DA Braves and EZW sit at 3-2, with DA Braves boasting the highest overall points scored (178). KGP and Blessed have identical 2-3 records, with defensive struggles being their downfall. KGP’s -26 point differential and Blessed’s -46 highlight the work they need to do to stay competitive.

At the bottom, Dzod Team remains winless at 0-4, with only 73 points scored and a -58 point differential, struggling on both sides of the ball.
