Recap Week

Games are short this week, with a small division we are expected to not have lots of games per week evidently. Everyone is balling out in their own way and hopefully you guys are having fun this season!

Kiss My End Zone 27-6 Grosses Gougouttes

It’s clear that Jimmy-Lee is increasingly utilizing his female players each game, giving them more targets and attention on the field. This highlights the vital role women play in coed sports; their contributions are essential and demonstrate that they can perform at the same level as men.

From my observations, this season doesn’t seem to pose the biggest challenge for this team. They are executing well on the field, displaying a strong chemistry that enhances their performance. Alexi Dubois has been leading the defense for some time now and has a solid understanding of his opponents’ strategies. His defensive calls are highly strategic, effectively making it difficult for opposing quarterbacks to read the field.

In the matchup against Grosses Gougouttes, the team was missing their starting quarterback and experimented with a few different options. While they tried their best, it may not have been their strongest performance. Stepping into the quarterback role without much experience is a tough task; in general, playing quarterback is challenging. Despite the difficulties, Eve Charbonneau shone, racking up impressive stats and gaining significant yards per catch, making her a formidable threat on offense.

Grosses Gougouttes 6-32 Aigre-Doux

In this game, François Rocheleau returned, but the outcome was probably disappointing for him. As they face consecutive losses, one might wonder if they moved up a division too quickly. Typically a receiver, his quarterback style reflects that; he prefers to scramble and run when the field is open. However, this game saw Sarah-Maude Mathieu, filling in as a rusher, applying effective pressure on François. While she didn’t register any sacks, she successfully contained him and minimized his rushing opportunities. As the scorekeeper for this game, I can confirm that her presence definitely challenged him, making it harder for him to make accurate throws.

On the other hand, Aigre-Doux was missing a few players, but Tam Vilaydeth did an excellent job finding substitutes. He brought in Gabriel-Charles Dabé Champagne, an outstanding athlete who excels on both sides of the ball. Having him on the team significantly boosts their chances of winning, as his height and athleticism are great assets. After securing this victory against Grosses Gougouttes, Aigre-Doux will face them again next week, and it will be interesting to see how their next match unfolds, especially with a hopefully full roster.
