Who made the jump to Coed 1?

A new season has started, but we’re seeing fewer teams this fall. As is typical for this season, the league has fewer participants, likely because many athletes are returning to school and focusing on their flag football or tackle seasons. Their school commitments understandably take precedence over participating in a league outside of school, and we wish these athletes the best of luck in their seasons. We hope to see them back in the FPF’s winter season!

— Kiss My End Zone —

This year, Coed 1 features only 5 teams, with just one returning team: Kiss My End Zone. This team has been a consistent presence for quite some time and is undoubtedly a top contender. They’ve undergone some changes, notably losing their star quarterback, Ignacio Valdes Manzanedo, who has left for other pursuits. His departure will be felt, but we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Taking over the quarterback role this season is Jimmy-Lee Janvier, who has started strong with impressive stats: 10 touchdowns and only 2 sacks in just 2 games. His performance so far is quite promising. Among his key receivers is Isiah Allard, who has already scored 6 touchdowns. His height is a significant advantage, making him a prime target for Jimmy-Lee. The team’s female players, to which Alexi Dubois has successfully recruited a talented roster, notable players include Alexandra Falcon-Korb with her speed, Amelie Durocher with her agility and moves, and Shantel Chippy Brown with her combined athleticism, just to name a few. With a 2-0 record, it will be interesting to see how Kiss My End Zone fares against the other new teams in the division.

— Aigre-Doux —

Aigre-doux, a new team in the league, is composed of experienced FPF players who have come together to take on this new challenge. Tam Vilaydeth has brought Emile Chateauvert onto the team, his impressive speed and his signature dip move make him a formidable player, often leaving defenders missing their tackles. Most of the female players are new to the league, so we don’t have much to report yet, but we’re excited to see what they bring to the table.

The remaining teams have moved up from lower divisions or have previously played in the league also:

— Balls Deep —

Balls Deep made a return a couple of seasons ago with a mostly unchanged roster, now including Felix Boutet. After their first game this week, their roster has been reduced from 14 to around 9 players, with the status of the remaining players uncertain. Despite this, their established team chemistry is a strong point. Benjamin Carli is back as their quarterback; it will be interesting to see if he opts for a more balanced approach between running and passing. In their first game, he had 131 passing yards and 37 rushing yards on 5 attempts. We’ll see how their strategy evolves in future games.

— Fitsquad —

Fitsquad, having made a strong playoff run last season, has opted to challenge themselves by moving up to Coed 1. They’ve retained their roster, and their first game saw them secure a victory over Balls Deep, which bodes well for their performance this season. It will be exciting to watch how they adapt to the new division.

— Grosse Gougouttes —

Grosse Gougouttes, formerly known by names such as Balls Deep and Balles Profondes, is the last team in this division. They have also undergone a name change to distinguish themselves from other teams. With a long-standing roster, their on-field chemistry is evident. Francois Rocheleau, who is usually known as a standout receiver, now takes on the challenge of quarterback. He has the talent around him; he just needs to fine-tune his ability to read defenses to make successful passes.
