Division D: Regular Season Finale

Week 10

The last week of the regular season is upon us. After a long 10 weeks, we have arrived at the final week of non playoff action. This week is very important for some teams as a loss can mean elimination. A big week for the 2 top teams of Group E as the winner will end the season as the group winner. From fending off elimination to attempting to obtain the best seeding possible, week 10 has all the action you could possibly need for a regular season finale. So get in, buckle up and lets ride!

Week 10 Power Rankings

1. Snowdon Deli Degens 9-0

Another game, another win for the Deli Degens. Their week 10 game comes against a 2 win team in LargelifeStyle. I predict this team to steamroll yet another div D team. After a week 10 win, this team will confirm my mid-season prediction that they will end the season undefeated. Another great game from Adam Malinoff and Evan Shiveck will put them as frontrunners for QBOY and 2-way Player.

2. SNP 6-3

I really wanted to place this team 3rd on this list but SNP’s week 6 game against Melons gave me no choice. Although Love Me Sexy was without their starting QB, SNP fought hard and played well. Kyle Folkerson is a tough QB to contain and I imagine he makes many rushers look and feel useless as he can extend plays with ease. Sam Anastasopoulos has been making waves recently and has scaled all the way up to #3 in touchdowns across the division. Look for SNP to end the season 7-3 but fall short for division supremacy as they cannot catch Melons at 8-2.

3. Melons 8-2

A great season for Melons as they ended off last week with 2 more in the win column. Defeating a great bandits team and scoring 40 on No Punt Intended. Their only 2 losses come to SNP and GloGang where their defence was exposed as they gave up about 40 in both games. Their offence has been great though, Manny Bizogias currently leads the division in passing touchdowns with 45 but will probably get passed by Adam Malinoff in his last game. But still, a strong team that I believe will make it at least to the Semi Final.

4.  Love Me Sexy 6-3

After losing 2 games in a row against top contenders some might say we shouldn’t be ranked this high. But our last 2 games came without some key players that change the entire shape of our team. Losing big to Bandits but without Nick Groppini, one of the best player in all FPF not just in division D. And our latest game a 26-20 loss to SNP without our QB Dom Giolti and Alessandro Barazzoni, where I took the helm at QB and we lost on the last play after a crazy Hail Mary on the last play. I think when our team is fully present, we are one of the top 5 teams in the division. We will win group C after sweeping the whole division going 3-0, with one of the best defences in the division.

5. Notorious C.I.G 6-4

Another team who has lost 2 in a row but was without star player and starting quarterback Joey Notaro. Joey Notaro was on vacation last week when Notorious C.I.G played their final 2 games of the regular season last Sunday. Joey has stepped up big for them playing QB and I think at least one of their games would have been a different result if he was present.

6. Bandits 6-4

Bandits took a loss in week 9 to Melons and a week 10 loss to Hail Marty’s has hurt this teams stock as of late. Other then their week 1 win versus SNP, I don’t think they’ve beaten any good teams at full strength. The lack of a big #1 receiver worries me for this squad and thats why feel like they should be ranked just outside the top 10. Unable to win the division aswell as Melons are too far ahead and own a tie breaker.

7.  Black Shinobi 6-3

On a 3 game win streak, Black Shinobi has proved that they are a top 10 team in this division. They have the opportunity here in week 9 to beat Jägerbombers and become the winners of Group E. Their last loss came to SNP by a mere 2 points so they can hang with the top teams of the division and have the opportunity and ability to finish with a 7-3 record.

8. Jägerbombers 7-2

One of the better records in the division but their lack of big performances against top opponents are holding me back from claiming Jägerbombers as one of the best teams in the division. Thomas Lajoe and Alexandre Bachaalani both have a chance at surpassing 500 receiving yards on the season. A win here in week 10 vs Black Shinobi would propel them to 8-2, the group E winner and top 3 seed in division D. Will they prove they belong with the best?

9. Knights 2.0 4-5

So it might seem crazy to include a below .500 team here on the power rankings but Knights 2.0 have been a completely different team since Marc-Andre Reeves has taken over at QB. Over 20 touchdowns and only 1 INT, Reeves has been the key to their success. The team is undefeated with him at the helm and one more game will make him eligible for the playoffs. I don’t think anyone wants to face this hot squad in the playoffs.

10. Old Pats 6-4

Old Pats haven’t had the best back end of the season. After staring the season off hot with a 4-1 record. Since then Old Pats have lost to Love Me Sexy, Black Shinobi and Knights 2.0, all teams in the top 10. I still have to say this is a team that plays well together and has some good athletes, but ultimately would fall short if they faced any of these teams ranked above them.

Group Winners

Group A: Snowdon Deli Degens 9-0

Obviously with the best record in Division D the Deli Degens are group A winners and have locked in the #1 seed heading into the playoffs.

Group B: Old Pats 6-4

Even after a loss last night vs Knights 2.0, Old Pats have a 6-4 record and will finish the season atop group B. Their record at 6-4  can be tied by Les Studz and the Process if they are to win their matches this week. But with tie breaker rules, Old Pats hold a head to head record versus both Les Studz and The Process so by rule, they will end #1.

Group C: Love Me Sexy 6-3

With a week 10 matchup against Ball Hawks, Love Me Sexy has the opportunity to end the season at 7-3 and get some momentum heading into the playoffs. Regardless after beating all teams in their division even a loss tonight against ball Hawks would tie GloGang and Notorious C.I.G. But like Old Pats, by tie breaker rule Love Me sexy will finish at the Group C winners.

Group D: Melons 8-2

Melons ended the season with a great 8-2 record which will be good enough for a #2 or a #3 seed heading into the playoffs. Melons defeated a lot of good teams but fell short when facing the best of the best. Maybe Melons get a chance to rematch the Deli Degens after a deep playoff run.

Group E:

Black Shinobi Battle Jägerbombers for Group E Supremacy

Week 10 concludes the regular season with a thrilling matchup between Black Shinobi (6-3) and Jägerbombers (7-2) in a battle for Group E supremacy. The winner will not only claim the top seed from the group but also secure a coveted top 5 seed in the playoffs.

Black Shinobi Aiming for Strong Finish

The Black Shinobi are riding a three-game winning streak and will be looking to cap off their regular season on a high note. Quarterback Sammy Omombo has been their offensive leader, orchestrating a balanced attack that thrives on both deep passing and scrambling rushing plays. Wide receiver Medley Joseph has emerged as a reliable target securing the most yards and touchdowns on the squad in only 4 games. Very important for him to be present for this game to ensure he’s playoff eligible. The Black Shinobi defense has been opportunistic, generating turnovers and getting key sacks. However, a game against the high-powered Jägerbombers will be their biggest test yet.

Jägerbombers Look to Maintain Top Spot

The Jägerbombers currently sit atop Group E with a 7-2 record. They boast a potent offense led by Felix Gerin-Lajoie, who has been spreading the ball around effectively to a talented group of receivers. Felix has also been a threat as a runner, keeping defenses honest, rushing for 200 yards and two touchdowns. The Jägerbombers’ defense has been solid throughout the season, but they’ll need to be at their best against the explosive Black Shinobi offense.

A High-Scoring Affair Anticipated

Both teams possess dynamic offenses with the potential to light up the scoreboard. The key for Black Shinobi will be to keep moving the ball and for Omombo and limit turnovers. Jägerbombers will need to find a way to contain Omombo and Medley and disrupt the Black Shinobi’s offence, by forcing 3rd and 4th downs and keeping them from completing big plays downfield. This game has all the makings of a classic. While the Jägerbombers boast a slight edge in the record, the Black Shinobi are playing with momentum and have the athletes to out run the topping defence. Expect a high-scoring affair with Black Shinobi edging out the Jägerbombers in a close one. Final Score Prediction: Black Shinobi 41 – Jägerbombers 38.

Fending off Elimination

Knights 2.0 Vs No Punt Intended

No Punt Intended need a win against Knights 2.0 to fend off elimination and secure their place in the playoffs. Sitting at 3-6 right now, it looks like 3-7 is the fringe of elimination. 4-6 would secure a spot in the playoffs. Dirty Slugs, Bend Don’t Break,  VTown all sit at 3-7 after last night so a loss against knights 2.0 would out them in a tie breaker scenario. I think No Punt Intended will have their hands full as Knights 2.0 have been on fire. No Punt Intended could lose this game and still make the playoffs but they need to be weary of not giving up too many points so that their points against don’t pass 300.
