Tier 4: Clutch Plays and Breakthrough Wins Define Week 4
Hey everyone, I’m back for this week’s article in Tier 4. We are in Week 4, and teams are getting more acclimated into playing this fall. Some teams are starting to set themselves apart from the rest and others are slowly falling behind while majority are still getting their feet well. Alot of teams opened their season this past week so we have many recaps to catch up on. Also, FPF is in the process of setting up the new website so be patient as it’s a lot of data that needs to be transferred but it should be running smoothly soon. Before that, let’s go through my fantasy results from last week:

Week 3 Recaps:
Chomedey Chodes def First Down Snifflers 38-32
I score kept this game and shoutout to Brock Zwicker who made a key 2nd half interception and would return a First Down Snifflers convert attempt back for 2 to tie the game, swinging the game towards Chomedey ChodesMatthew Bottazzi was efficient with adding 6 TD passes and 55yds on the group. His brother Jonathan Bottazzi was clinical and led the way with 140yds and 4 TDs alongside an INT on defence. First Down Snifflers had good QB play with Mathieu Couturier who had 4 TDs but with 2 INTs. Jacob Pilon and Guillaume Couture would add 2 TDs on the offensive side with Couture adding a pick-6 on defence as well.
Nut N’ Run def Vice City 42-20
After a close first half, Nut N’ Run pulled away for the 22-point victory in the end. For Vice City, they were missing quite a few players in their lineup, and it seemed that their opposition attacked the fatigue in the 2nd half. Zachary Daigneault who would play his first game in FPF as QB would get 3 TDs in his debut and Olivier Joly would lead the group with 103yds and a TD. It wasn’t the first game that Vice City wanted but with most of their team returning, they shouldn’t find too many issues blending right back into the competition. For Nut N’ RunNicolas Katerelos was solid with over 200yds in the air and 6 TDs. Charles-Antoine Nadeau and Guillaume Lasnier each had 2 TDs. In addition, Nut N’ Run were 3/4 for 2pt converts adding essentially another TD. In the 2nd half, it looked too easy for Nut N’ Run and while missing Samuel Deland in the lineup, it was an all-around team win for them.
Texas Whales def Briscoe Hawks 34-21
Outside of a first half punt, Tyler Cousins played great with 5 TDs and no interceptions. Glad to see Elio Cariglia back in action as he spent Spring 2025 injured for a large part of the season and had 3 TDs Friday Night. Dante Talarico would add 2 sacks on defence showing that he should also be considered one of the division’s best rushers with his improvements over the seasons and Cousins would add an INT of his own. For Briscoe Hawks, it was a rare inefficient game from Alex O’Neill and from what I saw in some plays, it was simply miscommunication with his receivers and bad drops. This team has a roster full of guys that can make plays, so I don’t expect a game like this to continue. George Spano continues to score with a TD and center Zachary Kott would lead his team in yards and would score a TD. With 8 players receiving a target, this team is deep, but does that limit this offence as it would mean that there’s no clear number 1 or 2?
Reborn Prospects def Team Ethnik 38-31
A high scoring matchup with the athletic group of Reborn Prospects getting the edge over the veteran Team Ethnik squad. With Team Ethnik typing the game off a David De Andrade TD, Charles-Emile Deveault would get a last-minute TD after a penalty he got that he felt that was unjust which resulted in the Reborn Prospects fanbase erupting at 11pm in Laval. Nathanael Dinku would lead his team with 101yds and a 40-yd TD early in the game. QB McRodly JeanMarie would throw 5 TDs and get a pick-6 of his own on the defensive side of the ball. For Team Ethnik, it was a heartbreaking loss but a game like this shows that they can compete with the best in Tier 4 when they are on their game. Benoit Lawlor would throw 2 INTs but would also give 214yds and 5 TDs demonstrating his ability to score when it matters. Angelo Mourelatos was pivotal with 2 TDs and seemingly being open on all his catches. Simon Dufort and De Andrade would also be key engines for the Team Ethnik offence.
Dragon Magique def Voodoo 37-25
Two first half pick-6s by Charles Mimeault would be the difference for this Dragon Magique victory. This game would total 6 INTs for both teams combined but the pick-6s would be the key factor. For VoodooFrank Kaye would throw 4 TDs, but 4 INTs put his defence in a tough position to make stops. Kevin Marcil would have 3 TDs in the game which every time I saw him catch a ball, he was wide open or would make a contested catch. Marcil would also add an INT on defence. For Dragon MagiqueÉmile Bolullo would be the main QB this game after arriving late and his first play would be a 15-yd TD. Lucian Leontiev would be the recipient of 2 TDs and Charles Beauchemin would lead his team with 5 catches and a TD of his own. Beauchemin would also add 2 sacks on defence as well showing a two-way performance.
Sophomore XL Exchange Students def Ball Hawks 38-20
My Sophomore XL team would take on Ball Hawks in their first game of the season, and the question of their defence was answered with 4 INTs. Returning XL member Anthony Moustache would get 2 INTs including a first drive INT that would set up new addition Ryan Vanslet a long TD. The Sophomore XL Exchange Students offence was back in season form with QB Vaughn Vanslet throwing 5 TDs and being 3/5 on 2pt conversion. Kyle Folkerson would lead the team with 2 TDs and Marcus Kulczycki and Moustache would add a TD each. For Ball HawksAntoine Lemay and Jean-Sebastien St-Arneault would lead the group with 5 catches each and combining for all of Richie Mondesir’s 3 TDs. Four INTs from Mondesir is uncharacteristic as he is efficient with his throws and with also only one rush, I would’ve expected him to use his legs more which he is very good at doing. Regardless, it was a sub-par showing from Ball Hawks but I wouldn’t expect a performance like this going forward, especially with Mondesir getting back into his efficient form in the season.
*Richter def Flag Dealers 21-13
A game that had the potential to be key steppingstones for both teams ended early after QB Jeremy Steinberg would get an elbow injury that would not only end his night on a stretcher but unfortunately end his Fall 2024 season. Thankfully, he underwent successful surgery is in good spirits, but it was horrible news to hear so I continue to wish him the best recovery. Before this news, Steinberg would throw 3 TDs against the 2 TDs from opposition Roy Khalil. I’m unsure if this game will be replayed as the stoppage happened very early in the 2nd half or if the game will end as is. Main question for Richter is since Adam Malinoff nor Nicholas Di Maulo aren’t QB eligible for Tier 4, who will be throwing moving forward? A team with early season promises to make a deep run now have the biggest hurdle a team can face, finding a new QB a month into the season.
Studz def Vice City 35-32
A first half sack by Antoine Jette which would turn into a safety would be the difference as a last second TD by Vice City would result in an unsuccessful onside attempt rather than a conversion to either tie the game or win. QB Vincent Richard would throw 4 TDs and get a TD with his legs. Zachary Daigneault would make both his catches count for 2 TDs. For StudzPhilippe Gelinas would match his opposition with 5 TDs of his own, spreading the offence with 7 receivers making a catch. Antoine Clément and Michael Couette would each have 2 TDs leading the way for Studz. A pure offensive game from both sides as outside of the sack safety by Jette, there was no other sack or interception in the game.
NoFlagsGiven def Show me your TDs 60-19
NoFlagsGiven with their new jerseys meant business and started their Tier 4 season with a 60-point explosion over Show me your TDsTyler Stewart only needed 11 completions but with over 200yds and 5 TDs and with each TD going to a different player. On defence, Kyle Daniel and Shamar Rickard would combine for 5 INTs and 3 pick-6s and their performance alone would have beaten their opponents. Speaking of their opposition, this was a tough introduction to Tier 4 for Show me your TDs. This team is composed of primarily players from Tier 5 Gamblers who are playing for both teams. While I admire the hunger for better competition, many Tier 4 teams are stronger than the best Tier 5 or Division F team with a lot more experience and talent than the lower division. This team does have talented players such as Mathew Antonios and Massimo Strenga so there is promise for this team to have bright spots. It wasn’t a terrible day at the office for QB Chris Toroyan when you take away his 5 INTs and if he can lower those numbers down, it would make a significant difference for his offence.
Sour Puss - Flag Dealers (stats currently not available)
Reborn Prospects def FC Bing 19-14
It seems that Reborn Prospects love these close games as Nathanael Dinku would get the game-winning TD with just a play remaining, showing another clutch performance for his team. Both QBs would throw for 2 TDs and a pick-6 by Clifdji Solon on the first defensive play for Reborn Prospects turned out to be the difference. Marc-André Senécal would be 50% from the field and Yvan Salomon turned out to be the key factor as he would get one TD and an INT. For Reborn Prospects, Dinku continues to be a two-way star with not only the game-winning TD but also 2 INTs.
Bible Study def Sans Pression 24-12
Bible Study would take care of business against Sans Pression Sunday evening. For Sans Pression, QB Isaac Chavannes, who has taken snaps with Unseen in the past, was solid in his Tier 4 debut with 57% with 2 TDs and 2 INTs. The INTs will get better over time, and it seems that he has built a foundation of primary receivers in Walker Jaquette and Marvin Renaud. Speaking of the latter, if Renaud were to be full-time, that might be the break this team needs to compete with Tier 4 talent. For Bible StudyEvan Vavinis is continuing learning the QB position with a solid group of receivers. With the improved receiving core, he can limit turnovers and be more efficient as he finished with 3 TDs and 1 INT. Rocco Christiano continues to be a two-way star in Tier 4 with 2 TDs, one on each side of the ball.

Here’s your Week 4 article! I have a blast writing about Tier 4 as there’s so much competition and I get to see the talent up close. A lot of great veteran talent as well as underrated players making a name for themselves. We are inching away towards the mid-season point which in a few weeks I’ll give my review of how every team is going. See you next week and if you have any comments or suggestions, you can always reach out to me on Facebook or Instagram!
