Mid-Season Report & Game Previews

With the regular season heading into its final stretch, every team in Women's Division 3 has already secured a playoff spot — all six teams qualify, and the first-round byes go to the top two seeds. That means the remaining games are entirely about positioning. Les Hiboux sit at the top with a 5-1-1 record, but A-Town are right behind at 5-1 with a game in hand. She-Sparks at 4-2 are not far off either, making the race for seeding at the top genuinely open. Spartiates are locked into the middle of the pack, while Dynamiques and Lionnes will be focused on carrying some momentum into the postseason.

Les Hiboux1st · 5-1-1 · PF 194 · PA 98

Les Hiboux are the division's most complete team, and the numbers back it up. Dorianne Roy-Bureau leads every meaningful passing category — 1,574 yards, 29 touchdowns, a 59.9 completion percentage, and a QB rating of 117 across seven games. Her go-to targets have been Beatrice Dubois (39 receptions, 435 yards, 6 TDs) and Eleonore Lacasse, who has been quietly dangerous in limited time with 294 yards and 7 touchdowns on just 15 catches. Marilie Plante and Laurianne Plouffe add further depth to a receiving corps that gives Roy-Bureau plenty of options on any given play.

What stands out beyond the raw numbers is Roy-Bureau's ball security. Among starting quarterbacks in the division, she has thrown the fewest interceptions — just 3 in seven games. She has also taken the second-most sacks, and while a throwaway is always the preferred option, it speaks to a quarterback who refuses to force the ball into coverage when the play is not there. Learning to consistently choose the throwaway over the sack is part of growing as a quarterback, and Roy-Bureau is clearly developing that read. It is a process, and the low interception total shows it is heading in the right direction.

Defensively, Annabelle Tremblay leads the team with 27 tackles, while Julia-Rose Landry has 5 interceptions and Emilie-rose Gagnon adds 3. Their only loss came against She-Sparks in Week 4, and they bounced back to win four of their next five, including a 48–6 statement win over Dynamiques in Week 7. The tie against Spartiates was the one blemish on an otherwise dominant second act. They hold first place, but A-Town are close behind with a game in hand. The top seed is not guaranteed yet, and how Les Hiboux finish will matter.

A-Town2nd · 5-1 · PF 132 · PA 35

A-Town's calling card is their defense, and it shows in the most important number on the board: just 35 points allowed in six games — by far the stingiest mark in the division. What makes this unit particularly impressive is how the production is spread across the roster. Five different players have recorded interceptions, and three different players have sacks. Angélique Jodoin anchors the unit with 15 tackles, 3 interceptions, a sack, and a defensive touchdown. Bhaboho Bukasa adds 2 interceptions and a defensive score in limited appearances, and Noëlla Simba has 3 sacks across only three games.

The offense tells a similar story. Multiple receivers contribute on any given night, with no single player carrying a disproportionate load. Marguerite Voyer Flores has managed the offense efficiently in her four appearances with 9 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions, and Aya Faridi posted a 135 QB rating in one game — zero interceptions, 4 touchdowns, 184 yards. Virginie Alexander (183 yards, 2 TDs) and Marilie Amyot (3 TDs) have been reliable targets. This is a well-coached team, and it shows on both sides of the ball. A-Town's lone loss came in Week 2 against Spartiates, but they have not dropped a game since. Their remaining games are against top-three opponents, and with She-Sparks capable of closing the gap, the second seed and first-round bye are far from secured.

She-Sparks3rd · 4-2 · PF 149 · PA 59

She-Sparks are one of the division's most explosive offensive teams, sitting second in points per game behind Les Hiboux. Gabriela Brega has thrown for 1,137 yards and 19 touchdowns in six games, completing 60.2 percent of her passes with a QB rating of 104. Victoria Bouchard and Tabitha Thomas are one of the best receiving duos in the division — Bouchard leads in receptions with 43 catches for 501 yards and 8 touchdowns, while Thomas is right behind at 33 receptions, 496 yards, and 8 scores. What makes Bouchard particularly valuable is her impact on both sides of the ball: 12 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 sacks, 6 pass deflections, and 3 defensive touchdowns.

Their two losses — to A-Town in Week 3 and Les Hiboux in Week 8 — show that they can be slowed down, but the trajectory of this team is hard to ignore. They crushed Spartiates 46–0 in Week 9 and beat Lionnes 18–6 the same weekend. She-Sparks still look like a team that hasn't reached its ceiling. If they continue on this path, they have the makings of a championship contender. They still have games against top-four opponents ahead, and those results could go a long way toward proving that point.

Spartiates4th · 3-2-1 · PF 81 · PA 118

Spartiates have been inconsistent but resilient. Marion Tremblay has thrown for 743 yards and 11 touchdowns, though her 7 interceptions and 12 sacks taken reflect an offense that has had to work hard for everything it gets. The offense runs through three key weapons: Dayanna St-Vil (256 yards, 5 TDs), Fanny Volg (249 yards, 3 TDs), and Chloe Desjardins (184 yards, 3 TDs). When those three are involved and the ball is moving, Spartiates are capable of beating anyone in this division.

Defensively, Maelli Morneau has been excellent with 19 tackles, 3 interceptions, and a defensive score. Yasmine Pelletier leads the team with 6 sacks, operating almost exclusively as a pass-rush specialist. Their 46–0 loss to She-Sparks in Week 9 was a significant setback, but their remaining schedule — A-Town on Mar 11 and She-Sparks on Mar 15 — will define how they enter the playoffs. A win over A-Town would be a major statement. As the current 4-seed, they would open the playoffs against 5th-place Dynamiques.

Dynamiques5th · 1-5 · PF 81 · PA 145

Dynamiques have had a difficult season but are not without weapons. Daphnée Mondion leads the offense with 525 yards and 9 touchdowns, though her 8 interceptions have been costly. Daphnée Pigeon has been the most efficient receiver on the roster — 251 yards and 5 touchdowns on 18 catches in five games. Their path to improving their seeding is narrow at this point, and they will likely enter the playoffs as the 5-seed facing Spartiates in the quarterfinals. A strong finish could at least give them some confidence heading in.

Lionnes6th · 0-7 · PF 24 · PA 206

Lionnes have yet to find a win through seven games, and their 24 points scored tells the story of a team still searching for offensive footing. Elodie Giroux has thrown for 528 yards and 3 touchdowns but also has 15 interceptions — the most in the division. Lyca Shareck has been a bright spot as a receiver with 252 yards and a reliable presence as both a target and a pass rusher with 4 sacks. They will enter the playoffs as the 6-seed, where they will face She-Sparks in the quarterfinals. The remaining regular season games represent an opportunity to find some rhythm before that matchup. While the results have not come yet, players like Shareck give the team a foundation to build on heading into next season.

Spartiates vs A-Town
A-Town's defense has been the story of their season and Spartiates will need a clean game from Tremblay to have a chance. Expect A-Town to win this one, but Spartiates' defensive players like Morneau and Pelletier could make it interesting.
A-Town 26 – Spartiates 12

Lionnes vs Les Hiboux
Les Hiboux should win comfortably. Roy-Bureau has the weapons to put up big numbers, and Lionnes have struggled to generate offense all season. Look for another strong performance from the division leaders.

She-Sparks vs Spartiates
She-Sparks are coming off a 46–0 win over this same Spartiates team, but a rematch could look different. Still, Brega and her receivers are too much to contain consistently. She-Sparks win.
She-Sparks 32 – Spartiates 14

She-Sparks vs A-Town
The most compelling game on the schedule. Two teams fighting for second place and the bye that comes with it. A-Town's stingy defense against Brega's efficiency makes this a genuine toss-up, but expect a low-scoring, tight game. Slight edge to A-Town.
A-Town 20 – She-Sparks 14
