Women's Division 2 — Week 10 Game Previews

The stretch run is here. With the regular season winding down, Week 10 brings seven matchups that will help shape the final standings heading into the playoffs. Several teams are fighting for positioning while others are simply trying to build momentum before the postseason.

La Sororité vs. PowerPuff — Saturday, March 7

La Sororité sits at 2-5 and needs wins to salvage their season. PowerPuff is 0-6 and has allowed 292 points — by far the most in the division. QB Mélissa Millette has thrown 17 interceptions against just 3 touchdowns, and the defence has struggled all year. La Sororité QB Clara Beaudoin has been steady with an 84 QB rating with 8 TDs and only 3 interceptions. Defensive standout Gabrielle Mongrain adds 4 interceptions and 11 pass deflections. This one should be straightforward.

Prediction: La Sororité 33 – PowerPuff 6

Wolfpack vs. DreamKillers — Saturday, March 7

At 3–1, Wolfpack has been one of the surprises of the season, and they arrive here with something to prove. The 4-1 DreamKillers are the stronger team on paper — Noémy Fortin Hurtubise has 23 TDs against just 1 interception with a 131 QB rating, and her weapons are dangerous. Leane Lafrieniere (524 yds, 12 TDs) and Eleonore Lacasse (307 yds, 9 TDs, 18.1 yds/rec) give the DreamKillers one of the best receiver duos in the division. That said, Wolfpack held Supernova scoreless in Week 1 and beat Vanier Cheetahs by a single point — they know how to keep games tight. If Camille Dumas can limit turnovers and Wolfpack's defence generates a few stops, this could stay close deep into the second half. DreamKillers should pull it out, but Wolfpack is not just showing up.

Prediction: DreamKillers 27 – Wolfpack 19

Cavaliers vs. Old School — Saturday, March 7

Old School at 5-0 is one of the last undefeated teams in the division and has been quietly consistent. Jessica Banville has 16 TDs and has not taken a sack all season. On defence, Marielle Paradis has 7 interceptions — tops in the league — while also leading Old School's receiving corps with 38 catches. The Cavaliers sit at 3-2 but their QB Adriana Valiante has been sacked 10 times this season and has thrown 11 interceptions — turnover issues that Old School's defence will look to exploit. Old School's defensive depth will be a problem in this matchup. Expect Old School to control this one.

Prediction: Old School 27 – Cavaliers 13

Cavaliers vs. The Rock — Sunday, March 8

The Rock is 1-6 and in a tough spot, but Carol-Ann Ménard has put up numbers despite the team's record — 1,388 yards and 20 TDs, though 14 interceptions and 7 sacks tell the full story. Jessica Gosselin has been one of the better receivers in the division with 445 yards and 10 TDs, and she gives The Rock a genuine weapon. Cavaliers have been inconsistent but should have enough to get the win here, particularly given The Rock's defensive struggles.

Prediction: Cavaliers 26 – The Rock 19

Vanier Cheetahs vs. PowerPuff — Sunday, March 8

Vanier Cheetahs at 3-4 need wins to keep their playoff positioning intact. PowerPuff has been outscored 292-22 this season, and this matchup should not be close. Margo Parent is a defensive force for Vanier with 6 interceptions and 3 defensive touchdowns, and the Cheetahs have been more competitive than their record suggests — several of their losses have been tight. Harmeen Kaur is due for a strong performance, and Laura Oliveira Arruda gives her a reliable target with 30 catches and 6 TDs.

Prediction: Vanier Cheetahs 38 – PowerPuff 6

Cavaliers BDEB vs. Supernova — Sunday, March 8

This is the most compelling matchup of the week. Cavaliers BDEB at 3-1 have been one of the best stories in the division. Dahlia Charbonneau has the highest QB rating in the division at 142, completing 72.9% of her passes with 23 TDs and only 1 interception. Laeticia Faubert leads all receivers with 13 TDs. Supernova at 4-3 counters with Clarence Michaud (22 TDs, QB rating 120) and Amy Deuel, the division leader in receptions. Supernova has already beaten Valhalla 47-6 this season and handed Chaos their closest game of the year in a 30-12 loss, so they can put up points. Cavaliers BDEB's efficiency edge gives them the slight advantage, but do not expect a blowout.

Prediction: Cavaliers BDEB 28 – Supernova 22

Cavaliers BDEB vs. Wolfpack — Wednesday, March 11

Cavaliers BDEB close out their week with a Wednesday matchup against Wolfpack, just three days after facing Supernova. Charbonneau's connection with Faubert has been the most efficient in the division — Faubert averages 15.1 yards per catch with 13 TDs on just 32 receptions. Gabrielle Desgagnés adds 280 yards and 6 TDs in only 3 games. Wolfpack has been one of the better stories in the division this season at 3-1, but stopping this offence is a tall order, and Cavaliers BDEB will be hungry to close the regular season strong.

Prediction: Cavaliers BDEB 35 – Wolfpack 12
