Division 5A — Midseason Report 2026
FPF Division 5A — Midseason Report 2026
Standings Breakdown
Division 5A has 22 teams this season, and after eight weeks of play, the picture is becoming clearer. A handful of teams have separated themselves at the top, the middle of the standings is crowded with teams still fighting for playoff position, and a few are running out of time to turn things around.
The only unbeaten team through six games, Thunder Buddies have made a strong case as the division's best squad at 6-0. William Power continues to be one of the most reliable targets on the roster with 24 catches, 210 yards and 8 touchdowns, while Mathias Cousineau brings steady defensive presence with 12 tackles and an interception.
Speed Academy Jr have also yet to taste defeat, going 5-0 through five games played. Harry Luong may be the most versatile player on the roster — 5 receiving touchdowns on offense and 3 interceptions on defense — and Alexandre Desmarais leads the entire division with 7 pass deflections.
Vieux Lynx sit at 5-1 with one of the more complete rosters in the division. Anthony Robichaud leads the entire division in passing yards with 1,152, and he has Antoine Coté as a go-to target with 26 catches, 211 yards and 7 touchdowns. Jean-Sebastien St-Arneault rounds things out on defense with a division-leading 9 sacks.
Also sitting at 5-1, CSJV alumni have been one of the quieter success stories of the first half. Antoine Gaudet has come through with 11 catches, 204 yards and 5 touchdowns, and William Hamel-Renaud anchors the defense with 14 tackles and 2 interceptions.
Richter are 4-1 and showing no signs of slowing down. Adam Malinoff has put together one of the better receiving seasons in the division with 22 catches, 208 yards and 10 touchdowns, and Nicholas Di Maulo contributes on both sides with 4 interceptions and a defensive touchdown.
Through six games, Texas Whales have built a 4-2 record on the back of a potent offense. Elio Cariglia leads all receivers in touchdown catches with 12, and Chazz Pisanelli is one of the most impactful two-way players in the division with 15 tackles, 5 interceptions and a defensive touchdown.
At 3-2-1, Perfect Timing have been tough to put away all season. Alessio Muro has made his mark defensively with 11 tackles and a touchdown, while Ryan Bawart generates disruption with 8 tackles and 3 sacks.
Ice up have quietly gone 3-1 in just four games played. William Rack has been a scoring threat every time the ball comes his way — 7 receiving touchdowns on 15 catches — and Nephi Disilva has come up with 4 interceptions in the secondary.
Despite playing fewer games than some teams, Voodoo sit at 3-2 with Kevin Marcil putting up some of the best numbers in the division — 278 yards and 7 touchdowns on 20 catches. Patrick St-Amand adds another layer on defense with 14 tackles, 3 interceptions and 2 defensive touchdowns.
At 3-3, Kicking Assets sit right on the playoff line. Olivier Truchon continues to move the chains with 22 catches and 196 yards, while Alexandre Pradella stabilizes the defense with 13 tackles and 2 interceptions.
TD Brudders are 2-3 and looking to build momentum in the second half. Joey Alvaro has been a dependable target with 18 catches, 139 yards and 4 touchdowns, and Hervé Junior Louis brings pass-rushing ability with 4 sacks.
With the same 2-3 record, Super Bock need wins to stay relevant in the playoff picture. Anthony Perusse has given the offense a reliable option with 16 catches, 175 yards and 4 touchdowns, and James Alexander Oliveira has contributed 3 interceptions on defense.
The record may say 2-4, but TuneSquad have a genuine difference-maker in Dylan Merovitz — 31 catches, 444 yards and 11 touchdowns, the best receiving numbers in the entire division. Ben Arnovitz backs that up on defense with 5 interceptions and a touchdown.
New Kids are also 2-4, but this is a team that can put points on the board in a hurry. Tristan Boyer has racked up 273 yards and 9 touchdowns, and Angelo Mourelatos contributes on both sides with 26 catches, 303 yards and 3 defensive interceptions.
Sitting at 1-3-1, Spartan's have shown they can compete — they just need to close games out. Justin Anania has been a bright spot with 10 catches, 195 yards and 5 touchdowns, and Benjamin Ohayon has chipped in 7 tackles and 2 pass deflections.
No Punt Intended are 1-3-1, but their defense has been one of the more active units in the division. Alexandre Turcotte leads the entire division in tackles with 20, and Alexandre Delisle has been a turnover machine with 5 interceptions and a defensive touchdown.
A 1-4-1 record doesn't reflect how hard Not Fast Just Furious have competed this season. Alexis Aubé has been one of the steadier defenders in the division with 14 tackles and 5 pass deflections, and Vincent Demers has kept the receiving game afloat with 31 catches and 209 yards.
Deep Balls are 1-3-1, but their receiving duo gives them the ability to strike at any moment. Jordan Biney has 8 receiving touchdowns on 14 catches, and Shayne Fleming is averaging nearly 20 yards per catch with 237 yards and 5 touchdowns on just 12 receptions.
Victorious Secret are 1-3 in four games played. Vincent Loranger has hauled in 5 touchdown passes on 18 receptions, and Justin Riffou provides some defensive stability with 12 tackles and an interception.
Things have been difficult for Pigeons at 1-5, but Steven Parisi has given them a reliable option in the receiving game with 18 catches, 179 yards and 4 touchdowns. Anthony Parisi leads the team's defensive effort with 14 tackles.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct are also 1-5, though Nykolas Pierre-Masse has been a consistent producer with 14 catches, 189 yards and 6 touchdowns. Gerry Vincent puts in the work on defense with 18 tackles.
Still searching for a winning formula at 1-4-1, Code Red have found some life defensively. Anthony Evangelista has been one of the more impactful defenders in the division with 4 interceptions and 2 defensive touchdowns, and Kashis Azemard adds 3 interceptions and a touchdown of his own.
Week 9 Game Previews
Vieux Lynx vs New Kids — Saturday, February 28
Vieux Lynx come into this one with Anthony Robichaud leading the division in passing yards and a receiving corps anchored by Antoine Coté, who has 7 touchdowns on the season. Jean-Sebastien St-Arneault leads all players in sacks with 9, which will create problems for New Kids quarterback Joe Morgese. New Kids are not without weapons — Angelo Mourelatos and Tristan Boyer have combined for over 575 yards and 15 touchdowns — but they are 2-4 and running out of games. Vieux Lynx are playing for position near the top and have been the more consistent team all season. Expect New Kids to push the tempo early, but the Lynx defensive pressure should be the difference late.
Prediction: Vieux Lynx 34 – New Kids 26
No Punt Intended vs Thunder Buddies — Sunday, March 1
Thunder Buddies are the last unbeaten team in the division, but No Punt Intended are not a pushover. Alexandre Turcotte leads the division in tackles and Alexandre Delisle has pulled down 5 interceptions this season — this defense knows how to create stops. Thunder Buddies have answered every challenge so far, with William Power putting up 8 receiving touchdowns and Terry Babalis completing 80% of his passes. Whether NPI can maintain that defensive intensity for a full game against the division's top team is the central question here. Thunder Buddies have earned their record, but this will be their toughest test yet.
Prediction: Thunder Buddies 30 – No Punt Intended 22
TuneSquad vs Voodoo — Monday, March 2
Two teams in the middle of the standings with playoff implications on the line. Dylan Merovitz of TuneSquad leads the entire division in receiving yards and is one of the hardest players to cover in Division 5A. Ben Arnovitz adds a defensive edge with 5 interceptions and a touchdown. Voodoo counter with Kevin Marcil, who is producing at one of the highest per-game rates in the division, and Patrick St-Amand who can change a game with a single play on defense. TuneSquad have dropped four straight and cannot afford another loss if the playoffs are still a realistic target. Voodoo, at 3-2, are in a better position but need this win to keep pace with the teams above them. Merovitz should be the best player on the field, but Voodoo's defense may have enough to grind this one out.
Prediction: Voodoo 28 – TuneSquad 25
