Division 4B Update
Division 4B Delivers Exciting Action Through Six Weeks
Six weeks into the Division 4B season, one thing has become abundantly clear: this division knows how to put points on the board. From last-second thrillers to offensive shootouts, the early season has delivered no shortage of drama as teams battle for position in what's shaping up to be a highly competitive race.
Boulanger Powers Caisse de 12 Past Bandits in Shootout
The Week 2 showdown between Caisse de 12 and the Bandits turned into a shootout, delivering 79 combined points in a back-and-forth affair that saw Caisse de 12 pull away for a 48-31 victory. Guillaume Boulanger put on a clinic for Caisse de 12, carving up the Bandits defense for six touchdowns on an efficient 16-for-21 passing performance. Filipe Barros was among his targets, hauling in two of those scores and adding 65 yards.
What made Boulanger's performance even more impressive was how he spread the ball around. Four different receivers found the end zone, with Jacob Grondines, Teddy Perrier, and Jule Nehma-Lacasse each contributing touchdown grabs alongside Barros. The offensive explosion started early, with Caisse de 12 jumping out to a 27-12 halftime advantage and never looking back.
The Bandits fought back in the second half behind quarterback Sébastien Champagne, who threw for three touchdowns and 139 yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the first-half deficit. Rodney Alcime was Champagne's favorite target, catching four passes for 73 yards and two scores. Defensively, the Bandits showed some fight with Sean Thomas Erlington picking off a pass and Jean-Pierre Nahra recording both an interception and a defensive touchdown, but Caisse de 12's offensive firepower proved too much to contain.
Peckers Outlast Pacemakers in Week 4 Offensive Battle
Week 4's clash between the Peckers and Pacemakers turned into an offensive showcase, with the Peckers emerging victorious 47-40 in a game that featured 87 combined points. The young Peckers squad proved they could hang with one of the division's most experienced teams in what became a back-and-forth battle.
Noah Lieblein was surgical for the Peckers, completing 19 of 21 attempts for 251 yards and seven touchdowns, carving up the Pacemakers defense all evening. Ethan Cohen was his top target, reeling in six catches for 82 yards and two scores, while Kris Schicchi added three receptions for 57 yards and three touchdowns of his own. Six different Peckers caught passes, with four finding the end zone.
The veteran Jason Rossie answered for the Pacemakers, putting together an impressive performance with 307 yards and six touchdowns on 21-for-33 passing. The league's all-time rushing leader with 7,788 yards showed he still has plenty left in the tank, connecting with Chris Brockwell for seven catches, 115 yards and a touchdown. Kenton Lowe provided another scoring threat with 77 yards and two touchdowns on four receptions. The Pacemakers moved the ball at will and the experienced group looked poised to pull out the win, but the younger Peckers squad came out on top when it mattered most.
One-Point Thriller: Studz Edge Dirty Dogs in Week 5
If you blinked, you missed it. The Week 5 matchup between Studz and the Dirty Dogs came down to the final possession, with Studz escaping with a narrow 46-45 victory in what might be the game of the season so far.
Philippe Gélinas continued his torrid pace for Studz, throwing seven touchdown passes and 285 yards on 23-for-33 passing. The veteran quarterback spread the wealth, connecting with Mathieu Limoges three times for 83 yards and three scores. Antoine Clément added a touchdown reception, while Olivier Tremblay chipped in with 54 yards and a score of his own.
But the Dirty Dogs refused to go quietly. The Soles brothers put on a show, combining for seven total touchdowns in a losing effort. Jacob Soles led the charge with 151 yards and five touchdowns through the air, while his brother Noah added 89 yards and two more scores. Carter Soles was the primary beneficiary, hauling in six catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Bradley Parent also emerged as a reliable target, snagging three receptions for 39 yards and three touchdowns in the high-scoring affair.
Despite the loss, the Dirty Dogs proved they belong in the conversation with the division's elite. The one-point margin suggests these two teams are evenly matched, setting up a potential rematch down the road.
Where Things Stand
NoFlagsGiven holds the top spot at 3-0, the division's only undefeated team, though they've played fewer games than most. Their 97 points scored and 76 points allowed show they've been solid on both sides of the ball. Tyler Stewart has been steady at quarterback with 545 yards and 12 touchdowns through three games, while Kyle Daniel has been a home-run threat with 200 yards and five scores on just 12 receptions.
Studz sits just behind at 4-1, leading the division with 200 points scored through five games. Philippe Gélinas has been the division's most productive quarterback with 1,068 yards and 28 touchdowns. His connection with Michael Couette has been the division's most dangerous, as Couette leads all receivers with 26 catches, 259 yards, and nine touchdowns. Their one-point win over the Dirty Dogs showed they can grind out tight contests.
Caisse de 12 and the Bandits both stand at 3-1. Boulanger has been efficient for Caisse de 12, posting a 68% completion rate with 825 yards and 24 touchdowns in just four games. His top target Filipe Barros has matched Couette with nine touchdown receptions. The Bandits have weapons on both sides of the ball despite their Week 2 loss, with Simon Girard throwing for 403 yards and 14 touchdowns while spreading the ball to multiple receivers.
Uncle Rico's Ryders (2-1), Pacemakers (2-1), Dirty Dogs (2-2), and Peckers (2-1) make up the middle tier, separated by a game or two. The Ryders have been stingy defensively, allowing just 83 points through three games while Mathew Yanakoulias has thrown 16 touchdowns. The Dirty Dogs feature the Soles brothers at quarterback—Jacob with 653 yards and 18 touchdowns, Noah with 184 yards and three scores. Each of these teams has shown they can compete with the top squads. The Dirty Dogs' close loss to Studz is a reminder that the standings don't tell the whole story.
With teams hitting the midpoint of their schedules, the races are tight. A strong finish could vault teams up the standings, while a rough stretch could leave them on the outside looking in. The first six weeks delivered plenty of high-scoring games and close finishes, and there's no reason to expect that to change.
