Making Their Mark: FPF Women's A at Nationals
FPF at the National Stage
Women's A Division Recap — Senior Flag Football National Championships | June 26–28, 2026
June 26–28 at Claude-Robillard. Three days. Four FPF Women's A teams on the national stage. By the time Sunday afternoon wrapped up, the division had a silver medal, a bronze medal, a fourth-place finish, and a collection of individual performances that stood up against the best women's flag football players in the country. This is how it happened.
Three of the four semifinalists were FPF teams. The championship final featured a Nyx squad that had already beaten two FPF division rivals on the way there. The bronze medal game was an all-FPF affair. At every turn over the three-day tournament, Women's A players from this league were at the centre of the action — and the individual performances that drove those results deserve to be told in full.

Nyx — Silver Medalists
Nyx arrived at nationals as one of the hotter teams in the FPF Women's A standings — undefeated in three regular season games — and played like it from the opening night. A dominant 37–20 round robin win over Outaouais set the tone on Friday, and a 12–7 victory over Sweet Heat late Saturday locked up their playoff position. Their only stumble in pool play was a 12–37 loss to Purple Heat, a result that would become one of the more compelling subplots of the weekend when the two sides met again in the semifinals. A 26–26 draw with Bleu Poud rounded out their round robin at 2W-1L-1T.
During the tournament, Nyx also took on Team Canada in an exhibition match — and pushed them to the limit. The result was a narrow loss, but it was the kind of game that leaves no doubt about where this team belongs.
The knockout rounds were where Nyx truly established themselves. A 41–36 quarterfinal shootout against BIRDSSSS — another FPF side — was the kind of back-and-forth game that could have gone either way, and Nyx found a way through. The 19–14 semifinal win over Purple Heat, the team that had beaten them in pool play, was one of the defining results of the weekend: a composed, measured performance against a side they knew well and had already lost to. The championship final brought a narrow 12–14 defeat to Outbreak, denying them gold but confirming themselves as the strongest FPF team at the tournament.

Purple Heat — Bronze Medalists
Purple Heat may have finished third, but their round robin was the best of any team at the tournament. They opened Friday night with a 37–12 statement win over Nyx, followed it with a hard-fought 27–26 win over Sweet Heat on Saturday morning, drew 33–33 with Outaouais in the afternoon, and closed pool play with a 26–18 win over Bleu Poud. No team in the tournament — FPF or otherwise — put together a cleaner round robin record of 3W-0L-1T.
The playoffs tightened up. A 12–7 quarterfinal win over the Monarchs sent them to the semis, where they ran into a Nyx side that had clearly adjusted to their offensive tendencies from pool play. The 14–19 loss ended the gold medal bid, but the response was exactly what you want from a team with character — a 28–24 bronze medal win over Bleu Poud to finish the weekend on the podium.

Bleu Poud — 4th Place
Bleu Poud opened the tournament with back-to-back wins on Friday — 42–23 over Sweet Heat and a tense 33–32 win over Outaouais that came down to a single point. Saturday brought a 26–26 draw with Nyx and an 18–26 loss to Purple Heat, leaving them at 2W-1L-1T heading into the knockout rounds.
They made the most of it. A 39–27 quarterfinal win over London Legends sent them through to the final four, where eventual champions Outbreak proved too strong at 32–20. The bronze medal game brought a rematch with Purple Heat — the same side that had beaten them in pool play — and ended the same way, 24–28. Fourth place at a national championship is a result to be proud of, and the individual performances Bleu Poud produced across the weekend were among the best of any FPF team at the tournament.

BIRDSSSS — Quarterfinal Exit
BIRDSSSS came into nationals as the FPF Women's A regular season leaders and showed that pedigree in pool play. A 34–13 opening win over the Monarchs and a 53–19 demolition of Team BC Women gave them two convincing victories, and a 40–19 win over London Legends on Saturday afternoon sealed their advance to the quarterfinals at 3W-1L, with their only round robin loss coming against Outbreak.
The quarterfinal against Nyx was one of the best games of the entire weekend. BIRDSSSS pushed the eventual silver medalists all the way in a 36–41 shootout, competing for every point in a game that never had a comfortable margin. It was a fitting end to a tournament that showed exactly where this team stands nationally — and exactly how tight the gap is at the top of Women's A flag football in this country.

Player Spotlights
There was no shortage of standout performances from FPF Women's A players at nationals. Here are a few of them.
Player Spotlight
Athena Fragiadakis — QB | Nyx
7 games | 1,585 passing yards | 24 TDs | 3 INTs
Athena Fragiadakis threw for 952 yards and 13 touchdowns across four round robin games with a 98 QB rating — numbers that would headline most tournaments on their own. Then the playoffs started, and she got better.
Across three elimination games, Fragiadakis threw for 633 yards and 11 more touchdowns with a 108 QB rating — a ten-point jump from pool play. The semifinal win over Purple Heat — a team that had beaten Nyx 37–12 in the round robin — required her to orchestrate a 19–14 result against opponents who knew exactly what to expect from her. She delivered.
It also bears mentioning that Fragiadakis was at the controls when Nyx faced Team Canada in an exhibition match during the tournament — a game they pushed to the final whistle before falling in a narrow loss. No stats exist for that game, but the performance itself spoke volumes.
Over the three days at Claude-Robillard, Fragiadakis put up 1,585 passing yards and 24 touchdowns. She carried Nyx through a quarterfinal shootout, orchestrated that semifinal win, and took them all the way to the championship final. Her performance this weekend certainly strengthened her case among the country's elite quarterbacks.
Player Spotlight
Lara Uzoka — WR | Nyx
7 games | 64 receptions | 766 yards | 11 TDs | 78 targets
Lara Uzoka was the most-targeted receiver at the entire national championship. In four round robin games alone she drew 50 targets — by a significant margin the highest at the tournament — pulling in 39 of them for 456 yards and 7 touchdowns. Defenses knew exactly where the ball was going and still could not stop her.
The playoffs only confirmed what the round robin had suggested. Uzoka caught 25 passes for 310 yards and 4 more TDs in three elimination games, averaging 12.4 yards per reception. Her speed and route running made her difficult to cover consistently — defenders knew she was the target and still could not stop her. Sixty-four receptions and 11 touchdowns over the course of the weekend. The numbers speak for themselves.
Nyx's silver medal run was built on the Fragiadakis-to-Uzoka connection. After a weekend like this one, Lara Uzoka should absolutely be on Team Canada's radar.
Player Spotlight
Clara Beaudoin — QB | Purple Heat
7 games | 1,505 passing yards | 25 TDs | 119 QB rating (round robin)
Clara Beaudoin was the most efficient quarterback at the national championship. Her 75.8% completion rate in the round robin was the highest of any starting QB in the tournament, and her 119 QB rating topped the field. She threw for 820 yards and 18 touchdowns across four pool play games — tied for the TD lead — while giving up only 4 interceptions and absorbing 3 sacks. Those numbers alone would make for an exceptional tournament.
In the playoffs, the efficiency held. Beaudoin completed 80 of 103 attempts for 685 yards, 7 TDs and a 101 QB rating in three elimination games — without taking a single sack. That zero-sack playoff line is a detail worth noting: it reflects both her awareness under pressure and the speed with which she processes and releases the ball. Purple Heat's bronze medal result is inseparable from the performance she put together all weekend.
Combined totals: 1,505 yards, 25 touchdowns, a completion rate above 76%. There was no more precise quarterback on the field at nationals.
Player Spotlight
Emmanuelle Bronsard — QB | Bleu Poud
7 games | 1,403 passing yards | 27 TDs | 116 playoff QB rating | 131 rushing yards
Emmanuelle Bronsard threw for 836 yards and 15 TDs in the round robin and followed that with 567 yards and 12 more touchdowns in the playoffs — finishing with a 116 QB rating in the elimination rounds, the highest of any FPF quarterback at that stage of the tournament.
What separated Bronsard from the field wasn't just the passing numbers — it was the rushing dimension she added. She led all FPF ball carriers with 89 yards on the ground in the round robin at 9.9 yards per carry, adding a rushing TD, and picked up another 42 rushing yards in the playoffs. For opposing defenses, having to account for her as a genuine run threat on top of managing her arm made every snap a more complicated assignment.
By the time Sunday wrapped up, Bronsard had accumulated 1,403 passing yards, 27 touchdown passes, and 131 rushing yards — a complete picture of what she brought to Bleu Poud's offense all weekend.
Player Spotlight
Alexandra Circé — WR | BIRDSSSS
5 games | 39 receptions | 502 yards | 11 TDs | 14.6 yards per reception (RR)
Alexandra Circé was BIRDSSSS's most dangerous weapon at nationals, and her numbers in the round robin stand up against anyone at the tournament. In four pool play games she caught 28 passes for 409 yards and 9 touchdowns at 14.6 yards per reception — the highest yards-per-reception average among FPF receivers who saw meaningful target volume. She was getting open deep, catching the ball, and scoring consistently — difficult to cover for any defense she faced.
In the quarterfinal against Nyx, with BIRDSSSS's tournament on the line, Circé caught 11 of 11 targets for 93 yards and 2 touchdowns — a perfect catch rate in an elimination game on the national stage. BIRDSSSS fell 36–41 in a game that went to the final whistle, but Circé gave them everything she had right until the end.
Eleven total touchdowns and 502 yards in five games — numbers that will be noted heading into the second half of the FPF season.
Player Spotlight
Clarence Michaud — QB | BIRDSSSS
5 games | 1,188 passing yards | 21 TDs | 71.9% completion (RR) | 117 QB rating (RR)
Clarence Michaud led all FPF quarterbacks in round robin passing yards, throwing for 987 yards and 18 touchdowns across four pool play games with a 71.9% completion rate and a 117 QB rating. She operated with a clean, decisive game — 128 attempts, 92 completions, efficient distribution across a wide receiver group that she clearly trusted to execute.
The quarterfinal against Nyx added 201 more yards and 3 touchdowns to her line in a game BIRDSSSS pushed to the wire. The 36–41 result was not a reflection of what Michaud gave — she was sharp from first snap to last in a game that easily could have ended differently. She finished the weekend with 1,188 yards and 21 TDs, heading back into the FPF Women's A schedule with a strong nationals showing to build on.
BIRDSSSS sit atop the FPF Women's A standings. A significant portion of that is because of what Michaud does every time she takes a snap.
Player Spotlight
Gabrielle Greco — WR | Bleu Poud
7 games | 31 receptions | 327 yards | 11 TDs | 7 playoff TDs
The national championship produces its share of players who show up when the bracket narrows, and Gabrielle Greco is one of the clearer examples from this tournament. Her round robin numbers were modest — 16 receptions, 147 yards, 4 touchdowns in four games. Solid, but nothing that stood out from the crowded receiving leaderboard.
Then the playoffs started. Greco caught 15 passes for 180 yards and 7 receiving touchdowns in three elimination games — the most receiving TDs of any FPF player in the entire knockout stage. On just 18 targets, she scored seven times, averaging 12.0 yards per reception and finishing with an 83.3% catch rate. Bronsard found her at critical moments in all three games, and Greco delivered every time.
Seven playoff receiving touchdowns is a number worth noting — and a strong case for what Greco can do when the games count most.
Player Spotlight
Florence Beaulieu-Clément — Defense | Purple Heat
7 games | 32 tackles | 3 INTs | 2 sacks | 5 PDs | 1 defensive TD
Florence Beaulieu-Clément put together one of the more complete defensive stat lines of the tournament. In seven outings, she combined 32 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 sacks, 5 pass deflections, and a defensive touchdown — contributions across every dimension of defensive production over three days of competition.
What makes the numbers more impressive is the consistency. She was not a player who disappeared for stretches and then made a single highlight play — she was active on every drive, in both the round robin and the elimination rounds, against opponents who ranged from local clubs to nationally competitive programs. The 19 round robin tackles and 13 playoff tackles reflect how present she was throughout.
Purple Heat's bronze medal is a team achievement, and Beaulieu-Clément was a central part of what they built defensively across the weekend.
Player Spotlight
Shelly Grenier — Defense | Nyx
7 games | 42 tackles | 6 INTs | 2 PDs
Six interceptions at a national championship. Shelly Grenier's tournament was a clinic in reading quarterbacks, breaking on the ball, and making plays in space. She led all FPF defenders with 4 round robin interceptions — tied with BIRDSSSS's Eunice Fotso for the FPF lead — and added 2 more as Nyx navigated three consecutive elimination games.
The tackle numbers add another layer: 26 in the round robin and 16 in the playoffs, for 42 combined across the weekend. Grenier was everywhere on the back end of Nyx's defense.
Nyx's defense was a collective effort, and Grenier was a significant part of what made it work. Six interceptions in seven games is a strong return by any measure.
Player Spotlight
Eunice Fotso — Defense | BIRDSSSS
5 games | 16 tackles | 4 INTs | 4 PDs
BIRDSSSS's tournament ended in the quarterfinals, but Eunice Fotso spent four round robin games making opposing quarterbacks pay for looking her way. Her 4 interceptions in pool play were tied for the most of any FPF defender in the round robin, and she added 4 pass deflections on top of that — meaning opposing quarterbacks targeting her area completed very little of what they attempted.
The quarterfinal against Nyx brought her fifth game of the weekend, and she continued to apply pressure in the secondary despite BIRDSSSS ultimately falling short. Fotso's pool play performance placed her near the top of the defensive leaderboard — and she did it while BIRDSSSS were simultaneously putting up some of the tournament's biggest offensive numbers, meaning opponents had to respect both sides of the ball.
Four interceptions and four pass deflections across five games. Fotso made things difficult for quarterbacks working her side of the field all weekend, and she heads back into the FPF Women's A schedule with a strong nationals showing behind her.

FPF Women's A — Current Standings
The nationals break is behind us. BIRDSSSS return to the top of the FPF Women's A standings on points, but Nyx — undefeated in three regular season games and now carrying a silver medal — have games in hand on every team above them. Purple Heat sit third despite their round robin-best performance at nationals. Bleu Poud and BIRDSSSS will be looking to use the nationals experience as fuel heading into the back half of the schedule. Chaos and Sparks have their own races to run.
After what happened at Claude-Robillard last weekend, the second half of Women's A is going to be one of the most closely watched divisions in the league.
