Division 1: Will Power Talks About The Frenziness Of 7 days For Fins Up

Hey guys, we’re back with this week’s article ahead of Week 5. With four games played in Week 4, none was bigger than the shocking comeback by Fins Up against the Braves on Sunday night. Trailing by 10 points at halftime, William Power threw two touchdowns in the second half, including the game-winning strike to Carl Achy in the dying seconds. It was a game for the ages, and for a team that endured a rough Fall 2025 season, it has to feel great to bounce back in the winter and make such a strong statement early on.

I also had the pleasure of filming the matchup between Vultures and The Infantry on Saturday night in Brossard, a game where both teams stand to benefit from more reps as the season progresses. The Infantry looked like the stronger team on the field, but they’re still finding their rhythm with several new additions compared to their Fall 2025 roster.

Matt Bond had an excellent all-around performance, recording the game’s only interception while also scoring two touchdowns on offence. For Vultures, Ben McMahon managed to avoid being sacked by Ethan Adrian, though Adrian’s presence was felt at several key moments. McMahon did a good job neutralizing the rush for much of the game by getting the ball out quickly, which allowed Kevin Donnet to lead the team in receptions.

The game I’ll admit I slept on was Royaume Luminaire’s win over EZW. The Saturday matinee featured over 70 points, with Alexis Gaument capping off a strong offensive outing by scoring the game-winning touchdown in the final minute.

Jesse Dupuis’ interception total remains a concern for Royaume Luminaire, but he delivered a better offensive performance in this win. For EZW, Jeremy White recorded two interceptions — one on the opening drive and another on the final play of the game when a score was needed. Outside of those plays, it wasn’t a terrible performance, but it does raise questions about whether this could be a difficult season for EZW, similar to Fall 2025.

The most lopsided game of the week saw PartyCrashers dismantle OneStop 41–0 in a contest that felt decided on the very first play. Fritzgerald Cenatus scored on a one-play touchdown from Jeanslee Alexis, setting the tone early. Cenatus stayed active throughout, finishing with three offensive touchdowns and an interception on defence.

For PartyCrashers, it was a game where the stats came easily as they controlled every phase from start to finish. As for OneStop, the loss isn’t entirely surprising given they weren’t at full strength — though it’s not like they lacked talent. The core of Michael Caparelli, AJ Zeppetelli, Thomas Angelin, and Mathis Pilon was active, and former two-way player Charles Cossette also returned to the lineup.

I think being there in person would have made this game easier to fully evaluate; however, if this becomes a trend where Caparelli doesn’t have enough support or protection, it could spell trouble moving forward.

Speaking with William Power

I mentioned earlier the comeback of Fins Up over Braves and I had a chance this week to speak to Will regarding that victory in addition to their two games this upcoming week. First, they have a rematch with Braves and the following night, have a solid matchup against OneStop. Let’s hear what he has to say about his team’s recent performance below:

Even with both teams missing a few guys, Fins Up still found a way to pull it off with the win against Braves. What did you like most from your team, especially in that second half for the comeback victory?

I think the biggest thing with our team is regardless of the score we play the game the same. We have a great group of guys where each player trusts the next and our vibes are positive. I never feel stressed playing with these guys. I’d say that’s what was key in us winning while being down in the second half against Braves. The 2 stops we got on defense changed the game as well.

You’ve got a busy week with two games coming up, starting with a rematch against Braves. What’s the mindset going into round two?

Really excited to play them again. They’re so well-rounded and elite that it forces you to play at a top level to compete with them. Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll be missing a few guys when we play them again. The mindset against a team as good as them is to play loose and take risks because you won’t beat them playing it safe.

Both Fins Up and OneStop made the jump up a division from last Winter, and you guys got the better of them in the opener last year. What do you respect about OneStop’s game, and where do you think you can make things uncomfortable for them this time?

It’s obvious these guys have played together before because they have great chemistry. Their positive energy is contagious. I respect that in their game. I don’t think people realize how important those traits are. Last time we played them Michael Caparelli looked way too comfortable and made quick work of our defense. We will have to throw around different coverages on defense to try and slow him down.

With the addition of AJ Zeppetelli, OneStop’s offence got even stronger as he leads the team in all offensive stats. What do you expect your defence to look for when playing against him?

Ya, he’s an absolute stud. His catch radius is crazy and he constantly makes these acrobatic-type catches. Carl Achy has been a great defender for us since joining the team a few years back. We may have to have him shadow AJ.

Closing Remarks:

That wraps up this week’s Division 1 article as we head into Week 5 and thanks for Will for taking the time giving his insights on his squad.
