Around the Division

Run Like a Girl

The only undefeated team in the division and it is not particularly close. Run Like a Girl has outscored opponents 92-36 through three games, a +56 differential that speaks to a team that controls games on both sides of the ball. Adele Nadeau has been one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the division — 313 yards, 6 touchdowns, and just 1 interception across two games for a 105 QB rating. Marguerite Thifault adds another dimension at quarterback with 4 touchdown passes of her own. Marine Verdy is making a strong case as one of the more complete players in Division C, contributing on offence with 115 yards and 2 touchdowns receiving while also recording 2 interceptions and 2 defensive touchdowns. Run Like a Girl has not dropped a game yet, and based on how they have played, they will be difficult to slow down.

Obsidian

Obsidian sits at 3-1 and has shown the ability to win games in different ways. Their only loss came in Week 1 against Run Like a Girl, a 25-0 defeat that they have since responded to with three straight wins. Laurie Cristofaro has been the primary signal-caller, but her 9 interceptions through three games is something to keep an eye on as the season develops. Daphnée Mondion offers a cleaner option when called upon — 141 yards, 3 touchdowns, and zero interceptions for a 115 QB rating across three games. On defence, Melyna Parent leads the team with 10 tackles and 2 interceptions, while Laeticia Dorismond has been a turnover threat with 4 interceptions. Obsidian is dangerous when things click, and with a big matchup against Les Valkyries coming up, how they manage the ball will be critical.

Les Valkyries

Les Valkyries have the most explosive offence in the division. Elyane Garneau leads all passers with 583 yards and 12 touchdowns through three games — numbers that stand well above anyone else in Division C. The receiving corps is deep and productive: Mélissa Millette leads the division with 250 yards and 6 touchdowns, Heidy Garneau adds 171 yards and 3 scores, and Anabelle Brassard is averaging 15.9 yards per reception. On defence, Elizabeth Jubinville has been outstanding with 3 interceptions and 4 pass deflections, and Millette contributes on that side of the ball too with 3 interceptions and a defensive touchdown. Their lone loss came in Week 1 against Run Like a Girl, a 37-15 defeat that remains the only blemish on an otherwise strong start. A Tuesday night clash with Obsidian looms as the biggest game of the early season.

A-TOWN BLACK & A-TOWN WHITE

Two squads from the same organization, both sitting at 1-1 with limited games under their belts. The two teams met in Week 1 with A-TOWN BLACK coming away with a 12-6 win. A-TOWN WHITE has since picked up a convincing 32-12 win over The Rock and showed some offensive firepower with Nisrine Bahtaoui throwing for 187 yards and 5 touchdowns in a single game. Virginie Alexander was the beneficiary with 4 touchdown receptions in that appearance. A-TOWN BLACK has been more cautious offensively, but Katryne Bilodeau has been tested at quarterback and will need more consistency going forward. Both squads still have plenty of games to play and the standings are close enough that either team could push their way into the conversation at the top.

The Rock

Three games, three losses, and a -59 point differential paint a tough picture for The Rock so far. The offence has struggled to find consistency, with Rachel C Gagnon absorbing a heavy workload at quarterback across three games. The bright spot is Ella-May Dupuis, who leads the entire division in tackles with 13 through three games and has added 2 interceptions on the back end. The Rock's first win of the season is still within reach, and a matchup against Lionnes in Week 4 presents a real opportunity.

Lionnes

Lionnes are winless through four games, but the scoreboard does not tell the full story. They took Les Valkyries to the wire in Week 2, losing 20-19 in one of the tightest games of the season so far, and have put up 48 points despite the losses. The offence rotates through multiple quarterbacks, and the receiving corps is active with Briana Tarricone emerging as a reliable option. Getting over the win column is the priority, and their Week 4 game against The Rock is the clearest path to doing so.

Week 4 Previews

Saturday, June 13 · 14:00 · Loyola Maisonneuve (Outdoors) 1
Lionnes @ The Rock

Two winless teams meet in a game that could define the bottom half of the standings. Both Lionnes and The Rock are searching for their first win of the season, and this matchup gives each a genuine opportunity. Lionnes have shown they can score — their 20-19 loss to Les Valkyries proved that — but converting close games has been the challenge. The Rock's best asset remains Ella-May Dupuis on defence, and if the offence can find any rhythm, this game is very much up for grabs.

Prediction: Lionnes 22, The Rock 16. Lionnes find their first win, but The Rock keeps it closer than the season record suggests.

Run Like a Girl @ A-TOWN BLACK

Run Like a Girl enter this one as the clear favourite, having outscored opponents by 56 points through three games. A-TOWN BLACK has played just two games and will need a complete effort to slow down an offence that has not been stopped yet this season. Adele Nadeau and Marguerite Thifault give Run Like a Girl options at quarterback, and Marine Verdy is a threat on both sides of the ball. A-TOWN BLACK will need to take care of the ball and find a way to stay in the game deep into the second half.

Prediction: Run Like a Girl 34, A-TOWN BLACK 12. The undefeated run continues.

A-TOWN WHITE @ Obsidian

A-TOWN WHITE showed real offensive potential in their Week 2 win over The Rock, with Nisrine Bahtaoui throwing 5 touchdown passes in a single game. Obsidian will be a different challenge entirely. Melyna Parent and Laeticia Dorismond have combined for 6 interceptions on defence, and Obsidian has only allowed 39 points through four games. A-TOWN WHITE will need to be smart with the ball — turnovers against this Obsidian defence tend to be costly.

Prediction: Obsidian 24, A-TOWN WHITE 14. Obsidian's defence controls the game and keeps them in the top three.

Les Valkyries @ Obsidian

The game of the week. Two of the three teams tied at the top of the standings go head to head in a matchup that could reshape the division picture entirely. Les Valkyries bring the most prolific offence in Division C — Elyane Garneau's 12 touchdown passes lead the way — and a receiving corps that can hurt any defence. Obsidian counter with one of the tightest defences in the division. Elizabeth Jubinville's 3 interceptions for Les Valkyries will be tested against a quarterback group that Obsidian knows how to pressure. Cristofaro's turnover issues add another layer — if Obsidian can create a few early, this game could swing quickly.

Prediction: Les Valkyries 28, Obsidian 20. Garneau's volume and a deep receiving corps prove too much to contain over a full game.
