Women’s B: With Chaos Gone, Which Team is Next to Dominate?
Hey everyone, welcome to the first article for Women B this season. My name is Keyon and you may have seen me behind the camera filming games throughout the winter season.
With a new season underway, the elephant in the room has finally moved on. Chaos has officially graduated to Women 1 after capturing the Women 2 championship a few weeks ago. For years, Chaos was one of the measuring sticks in this division. Even when they didn’t win a championship, they were always near the top of the standings and their chemistry only continued to grow as players gained confidence and experience together.
Now that they have moved up, the division feels wide open. It creates opportunities for new contenders, new rivalries and new players to emerge as some of the faces of Women B this season.
Cavaliers
Probably the youngest team in the division, Cavaliers return after a 4-6 campaign in Winter 2026. Their season ended against their rivals from Bois-de-Boulogne, but with the majority of the roster returning, the experience gained last season should help this group moving forward.
The team is led by player-coach Amy Hughes and I would expect Adriana Valiante to remain the primary quarterback option when available. One thing I’ll be watching closely is how the offence develops if Stella D’Alessio and Malo Joly continue to miss time. Both players were important contributors and their absence creates opportunities for other receivers to step into larger roles.
For a young team, another season together could make a huge difference. Sometimes development isn’t about adding talent but simply gaining experience through repetition and game situations.
Hiboux
After falling just short in the Women 3 championship game last winter, Hiboux made the jump into Women B.
Unlike Cavaliers, Hiboux have seen more roster turnover coming into the spring season. The biggest departure is undoubtedly QB of the Year Dorianne Roy-Bureau. I had the chance to commentate the Women 3 finals and what stood out most was her patience. She consistently made the right read, stretched the field when opportunities presented themselves and never seemed rushed.
Even without Dorianne, there is still plenty of talent returning.
Beatrice Dubois and Beatrice Lemay remain dangerous options offensively, while Cassiopée Lemay now gets the opportunity to distribute the football. Add in reliable contributors like Elenore Lacasse and reigning Two-Way Player of the Year Leane Lafrieniere from Dreamkillers in Women 2, and this team still has championship-calibre talent throughout the roster.
Their 2-0 start reflects that. While the jump in divisions can be difficult, I would expect Hiboux to remain firmly in the playoff picture and compete near the top half of the standings.
La Sororité
La Sororité opened their season with a victory and are hoping to improve on last year's 4-6 record.
The challenge for this group is replacing two major contributors in Gabrielle Mongrain and Clara Beaudoin. Losing a DPOY-calibre defender like Mongrain is never easy, particularly on the defensive side of the ball where her impact extended far beyond statistics.
To compensate, the team brought in talented Rouge et Or receiver Sophie-Anne Caron, who immediately made her presence felt with two touchdowns in the season opener. Megan Trudel also enjoyed a strong debut, leading the team in receiving production and finishing with three touchdowns.
The biggest story, however, may be Catherine Schinck taking over quarterback duties. Her opening performance of 232 passing yards and six touchdowns was outstanding. If she can continue producing at that level, this could easily become the best season of her young FPF career.
Supernova
The purple Supernova ladies are back for another season.
Clarence Michaud elevated her game significantly during Winter 2026, finishing with nearly a 68% completion percentage and 37 touchdown passes. Given her football experience with the Concordia Stingers, I expect that progression to continue this spring.
At the same time, it feels a little early to fully evaluate this team. Several familiar names have yet to appear regularly, including Alexann Leblanc, Alicia Anaya and Roseline Majeau. Across FPF, many players have missed the first few weeks due to vacations and scheduling conflicts, so I expect rosters to look more complete as the season progresses.
Once everyone is available, Supernova could look very different from the version we've seen so far. They have enough depth to compete with anyone, but I want to see a few more weeks before making stronger predictions.
The Merge
One of the more interesting stories this season is The Merge, which combines players from Women 3 champions She-Sparks and Turf Titans.
With Yvan Salomon guiding the team from the sidelines, there is already a strong foundation in place. Sarah-Maude Hamel struggled at times last winter with Turf Titans, but she now finds herself surrounded by additional offensive weapons, including Women 3 Receiver of the Year Tabitha Thomas and bringing along Briana Tarricone from the Winter 2026 Turf Titans squad.
Defensively, this group could become one of the strongest units in the division. Cindy Canuel, Channy Mich and Samora Fanta Sacko all have the ability to create chaos and force mistakes.
Tiffany Cipollone has also made an impact despite not recording a sack through three games. Her 12 passes defended demonstrate just how disruptive she has been in coverage and around the line of scrimmage.
With a smaller division and more opportunities to see familiar opponents, I think The Merge has a legitimate chance to become one of the toughest teams to prepare for by playoff time.
The Originals
Formerly known as Old School, The Originals have started the season exactly where they left off.
After posting a 9-1 record last season, they currently sit at 2-0 while winning both games convincingly. Jessica Banville returns at quarterback and although I wouldn't say she had her strongest statistical season last year, she consistently delivered when her team needed her most.
It certainly helps when one of your primary targets is Marielle Paradis. Marielle remains one of the premier receivers in Women B and many would argue she is the best in the division. With so much defensive attention focused on her, Anne Bonin has quietly emerged as another major weapon, currently leading the team with 16 receptions.
Defensively, what made The Originals dangerous last season wasn't just one player. Five different players finished with at least two interceptions. If they can replicate that level of production, this team will remain one of the favourites throughout the season.
Wolfpack
One of the biggest surprises early in the season has been seeing the Wolfpack sitting at 0-3.
Given the experience throughout the roster, I expected them to be much higher in the standings. Looking deeper, however, the absence of long-time quarterback Marie Fournier helps explain some of the early struggles.
Lauriane Lapointe has stepped into the quarterback role and transitions like that take time. Despite the slow start, there is still plenty of talent around her.
Abigaelle Perreault currently leads the team in receiving while players like Camille Dumas, Stephanie Cleroux-Drapeau and Elodie Simoneau continue to provide playmaking ability on both sides of the ball. Elodie in particular is coming off an impressive winter campaign where she led the team with eight interceptions.
The start has been difficult, but if Lauriane settles into the position and the offence finds consistency, I wouldn't be surprised to see Wolfpack climb back into the playoff race.
