Division 1: The Calm before the Storm ahead of Week 4

Hey guys, my name is Keyon and you might recognize me either behind the camera as a part of CRV Media or that I wrote the articles last spring for Division A. Writing for the top men’s 6v6 division has its perks as I get to focus on the most talented players this league has to offer which can help me grow my game. After two weeks into the Winter 2026 season, the men’s top FPF division is back in action. Every team is familiar with one another, as Onestop is the only team not back from the Fall 2025 season as they were in their football season whether playing or coaching but played in the Spring season just prior. For this week, I want to give a little preview as it’s Week 4 and each time have played one game so far

PartyCrashers

Last Played Season: Fall 2025 Tier 1

Result: lost in SF

After the first week of the regular season in Division 1, PartyCrashers have the largest point differential at +41 after a dominant victory over Royaumme Luminaire. It only took Jeanslee Alexis 8 completions which three of them were TDs to pull out the victory. The story of this game was the defence as they compiled 5 INTs and Fritzgerald Cenatus, Mamadi Kaba and Mendel Joseph would all score a pick-6, being the difference makers. When it comes to PartyCrashers, it’s never the athleticism of this team as they are probably the most athletic team in FPF. What comes down to it in my eyes is availability to build chemistry and winning in the playoffs when it counts most. A great start for them nevertheless.

Fins Up

Last Played Season: Fall 2025 Tier 1 (Under CHILD PLEASE)

Result: DNQ

It was a rough first season in the highest 6v6 division last fall for William Power and company but a victory over EZW might be the start this group needed to get back into their winning ways. EZW had swept the season series in the Fall by going 2-0 and this team would get their lone victory in Tier 1 in Week 8. It’s a new season and they have already gotten their first. I do think this team can compete better than what their season in the Fall turned out to be and it will come down to Will Power. It was his highest INT and lowest TD total in quite some time and the fact that it was during his first season in Tier 1 with this group, only improvement to go from there. Talented receivers such as James Langshaw, DonnDre Bordon and Joey Notaro will likely carry the bulk of the offense per usual but a second season at the top division should go much better this time around for Fins Up.

Onestop

Last Played Season: Spring 2025 Division A

Result: lost in QF

As being the only team to not have played last fall, OneStop came back into Division 1 with the closest victory of the week by defeating The Infantry 18-13. FPF Hall-of-Famer Kevin Wyeth wasn’t at QB for this game for The Infantry but that doesn’t take away that OneStop took care of business for the team they were facing. The core of this team is players from the McGill Redbirds from the recent seasons who have been getting more accustomed with flag without issues. Michael Caparelli did a solid job last spring with only 5 INTs thrown, however, if he’s able to finish drives and can push his TD total from 30 to the 40’s, that can be a huge difference maker on offence. On defence, this team has talented DBs from McGill who I feel will use another season at the top division to get even better. Seeing that AJ Zeppetelli played game one, if this is a consistent addition, I can see Zeppetelli being the next upcoming offensive star in Division 1.

Vultures

Last Played Season: Fall 2025 Tier 1

Result: lost in SF

I spoke with QB Ben McMahon prior to Vultures’ first game against Braves and he gave me this look where going against Braves can be the start of a long night. Similarly to OneStop, you play the team in front of you and even with Jonathan Maheu not playing, this was still a top tier Braves team. McMahon would have three incompletions, finishing with 200yds passing and the defence would do its job with 3 INTs and 3 sacks. This Vultures team was on the brink of eliminating Braves last season and on any given night, anything is possible. This team has talent across the board and McMahon has been getting better as the seasons go on with him throwing in the top 6v6 division. With this team believing in themselves game after game, who knows the limit for Vultures.

Braves

Last Played Season: Fall 2025 Tier 1

Result: Won Championship

The team everyone wants to lose is back after another championship. Braves are the most talented team in FPF and I would say Canada. The talent, experience and chemistry is unmatched. On nearly every given night, Maheu is the better quarterback whether he’s playing in Canada or south across the border. What makes Braves even more dangerous is that even without Maheu, they have the ability to use different players on the roster to throw and come out victorious. Yes, it did not work in their season opener against Vultures, but that loss does not change any of my opinions of this team. Without Maheu, this team loses a big piece on both sides of the ball, especially at QB but this team has proven over the years that they can still get it done. The regular season can go any way for this team but when playoffs start, once again, every team will look to dethrone the longstanding champs.

The Infantry

Last Played Season: Fall 2025 Tier 1

Result: lost in Finals

The Infantry was the only team to defeat Braves in the regular season and many anticipated that the finals would be a close matchup as it’s been over the seasons but the Fall finals was lopsided for a Braves victory where Wyeth would throw 3 INTs in the first half which stunned the crowd in this anticipated matchups. It was one final, and I expect The Infantry to be back contending with the best. Wyeth wasn’t playing in their opener and it showed in their loss to OneStop. This team is stacked as well as Jaylan Greaves, Marvin Steinberg and Bakari Barrett are back in action and if they are to be full-time with the Infantry once again, it’s arguably their strongest roster to date. They play Vultures on January 24 in Brossard and I’ll more than likely be filming it so I can’t wait to see how this team can play with a full team.

EZW

Last Played Season: Fall 2025 Tier 1

Result: lost in QF

The most recent seasons in the top 6v6 or 5v5 divisions haven’t gone the way EZW wanted but what makes them always dangerous is their youth and moments where their offence under Jeremy White can strike in an instance. Their defence seems to be their weak point but I can say that over time with playing in the top divisions, their defence is getting better. Nathan Desjardins continues to grow on both sides of the field and this team has players willing to get better and have fun doing so. They might not have the accolades like their fellow opponents, however, on any given night, this team can explode to score 40+ points. Is this the season where their defence can take a step and EZW can be a true contender?

Royaume Luminaire

Last Played Season: Fall 2025 Tier 1

Result: lost in QF

This veteran team didn’t look like themselves after a brutal season opener loss to PartyCrashers. Like I’ve said with previous teams, on any given night, a team can play their best and another can play their worst game in a while. No team, even the best ones, will play their best game every time they hit the field and for this division, every team is way too familiar with one another. Do I expect another performance like this from Jesse Dupuis? Definitely not. Seeing the addition of Hall of Famer Isiah Allard after his consistent presence with Braves can be a change for their defence especially. With AJ Gomes, Serge Pilon and company to get back into form, I believe this loss will be in the rear view come April.
