5v5 Competitive: Introductions As We Enter Week 4
Hey everyone, I’m Keyon. Some of you might recognize me from behind the camera working with CRV Media, or from writing Division A articles last spring. This season, I’ll be covering the men’s 5v5 Competitive division, which brings a mix of familiar names and plenty of new faces. That blend makes things interesting, as there’s a lot of talent across the division and a lot still to discover. Now two weeks into the Winter 2026 season, 5v5 Competitive is back in action. Before we roll into Week 4, I wanted to take a moment to set the stage and give a quick preview of what’s ahead.
MTL Magic
Last Season Played: Fall 2025 Competitive
Result: lost in Finals
The question isn’t if MTL Magic have the talent to get it done because let’s be honest, their roster and chemistry is second to none. From Dan Lazzara to Felix Boutet and Serge Pilon their roster from top to bottom is full of future FPF Hall of Famers. One thing to take into account is this roster is without Jeanslee Alexis and Raff Morelli it seems. The real question for this team is can they win when it matters, especially when it comes to playoff games against Braves. They lost in the semis in Spring 2025 and in the most recent Competitive finals, that game was as chippy as it gets but Braves were able to pull away in the 2nd half. At the end of the day, MTL Magic will still do well this season and will it be enough to finally win Competitive?
PartyCrashers
Last Season Played: Spring 2025 Competitive
Result: lost in QF
Like the other teams in this roster, PartyCrashers’ roster is as athletic as it gets. From CFL, USports and top collegiate football athletes, any opening can have players on this team score TDs in a split second. What makes this season more optimistic than previous years is that Jeanslee Alexis will be throwing for the 5v5 PartyCrashers team after leaving MTL Magic. Alexis would normally throw for the 6v6 PartyCrashers but since the inaugural 5v5 season in 2024, Alexis hasn’t played 5v5 with PartyCrashers until now. With the talent on this team, how will PartyCrashers fare with Alexis and company in 5v5?
Flag Moi L’Sac
Last Season Played: Spring 2025 Competitive
Result: lost in QF
Flag Moi L’Sac haven’t reached the finals since their win in the inaugural Competitive season in Spring 2024. With that being said, it doesn’t mean they should be overlooked by any means. This team knows how to get things done and in the 5v5 division, they know how to score points fast. Alex Nadeau-Piuze has a terrific duo in Samuel Nadeau-Piuze and Francois Rocheleau and have depth across the roster. Like Braves, Flag Moi L-Sac would expect to be a contender and their concern is to perform in the playoffs. As mentioned earlier, they haven’t had recent 5v5 success in awhile so after taking the Fall Competitive season off, is this team ready to put back the crown they once had?
KGP Elite
Last Season Played: Fall 2025 Competitive
Result: lost in SF
KGP Elite will be the team who we will have to wait for until they are in action as they only start their season in Week 6. At that point, teams will have several games under their belt whereas KGP will have the build chemistry in a very short amount of time. Speaking of chemistry, that might not be much of an issue as this team did participate at the USA World Championships so maybe the chemistry was set in Tampa last weekend. Tournaments are fun and bonds are made even stronger but my concern is how will they look in game 1. Phil Cutler has put in the work anytime he has had a second of free time and it has shown on the field no matter where in the world. KGP Elite has a talented roster once again but without much playoff success in 5v5, is this season the one that KGP Elite breaks the glass ceiling?
Braves
Last Season Played: Fall 2025 Competitive
Result: Won Championship
Will the reign of terror end for the Braves in 5v5? At this point, it's the Braves and then everyone else. Every championship game, it’s Braves against the league. No matter how much teams throw at them, they never panic under pressure. Yes, they might lose a game or two in the regular season but a betting man wouldn’t lose anything when it comes to the postseason. The 5v5 roster is stacked enough and if the return of Jeremy Murphy turns out to be a reality, it just makes this team even more unbeatable. From the talented skills across the board, Jonathan Maheu leads his team to consistent championships and why would this season be different?
#NR
Last Season Played: Spring 2025 Competitive
Result: lost in SF
#NR had the most improbable upset of the Spring 2025 season by eliminating Flag Moi L’Sac in the Quarterfinals with Myles Gibbon finding Sanders Armand on the final play of the game for a contested TD catch to pull off the shocking win. Unfortunately for #NR, they would fall short to Raw Dawgs in the following round but the statement was made. In the playoffs, any team can win no matter the circumstances and no team should be taken lightly. I’m not saying that the underdog will win every time but if the stars are aligned, then you have a shot. #NR can have great drama as they did in Spring but a better regular season can better their chances of making a deep run that wouldn’t shock anyone. Player availability remains a mystery but if they can be consistent, they can build towards being a team others don’t want to face.
Naproxen
Last Season Played: N/A
Result: N/A
The true wildcard in this division as Naproxen is a new team in Competitive and as far as my research, is a brand new team that was created. Initially, I saw Dimitri Sinodinos on the roster and figured he would be throwing and that still might be the case, however, with Sinodinos missing game one, Stephen Casey would throw 192yds in the loss to MTL Magic. This team does have athletes and players with FPF success but as a brand new team in Competitive, how far can they go? We have seen past teams think they can handle Competitive and by game 1, the talent gap is shown. I won’t put Naproxen on the chopping block yet but they are a team to watch out to see if they truly belong in Competitive and I’ll gladly give them their flowers if they prove me otherwise.
Raw Dawgs
Last Season Played: Fall 2025 Competitive
Result: lost in SF
When Raw Dawgs made the finals in Spring 2025, Jordan Panetta was the one who did the bulk of the throwing for this team. In Fall 2025, Panetta took the season off and an inconsistent roster didn’t help Jeff Rosenblatt, however, they put up a fight in a semifinals loss to Braves. Now in Winter 2026, Raw Dawgs are back and seeing a full roster after game on is always a step in the right direction. Panetta only threw 7 passes while Rosenblatt threw for the bulk of the game so it remains to be seen how will the QB dynamic work for this season.
Bleue Dry 10.1 (Under Bleue Dry):
Last Season Played: Fall 2025 intermediate
Result: Won Championship
Probably one of the wildcards of this division as they are the only veteran team making a jump into Competitive after a clutch championship victory in December with a last play touchdown thrown from Frederic Juneau to Tristan Boyer. After the championship win, Bleue Dry made the decision that they have done enough in Intermediate and rightfully so and made the jump to Competitive. What it brings them is new challenges, new team concepts and perhaps a new roster to adjust. Juneau will still be the guy using his cannon arm to score quick but will his receiving core be enough to handle essentially the best players in a 5v5 environment?
Closing Remarks:
That does it for the first Competitive Division article as we move into Week 4, with the action returning Saturday night in Brossard. As always, if you missed the chance to respond or want to be featured in future pieces, feel free to reach out on Facebook or Instagram @keyoncyrus.
