Division 4A: Adding Impactful Players onto Division 3 Teams

There is one final game in Division 4A that will be played in a few hours between Team Ethnik and Dak to the Future. Both teams have locked themselves into a playoff berth in the Divisional Round but still have the ability to change the matchups based on how this game finishes. The top 4 teams have earned a bye, and we won’t see them in action until the Quarterfinals. Those teams include Trapstars, Ducks, Snowdon Deli Degens, and Nut N’ Run. The Divisional Round will open the 4A playoffs this Saturday night in Brossard.

Division 4, in general, is a place where there are a lot of players who are known in the FPF community but, at the same time, have hidden talent. A lot of the players have played in Division 3 or 5 on different teams. I wouldn’t really consider the players I will talk about later as breakouts like in my Division 5B article last week. What I want to do is take a player from  different positions and place them on a Division 3 roster. Credits to fellow FPF writer Brent Bodkin, who has done this with Division 2 over the years who gave me inspiration to do this with 4A now. The players I will talk about may be considered to have had a breakout season in your eyes, or maybe they are just underrated players in others’ POV. At the end of the day, these are players I believe should get more credit for their play this season, given the high level of talent in this division.

Players I feel can thrive in Division 3

Quarterback: Ryan Garber

If Garber played a full season, he would have the biggest chance of winning QB of the Year. He only played 7 games but still managed to finish with 37 TDs and just 1 INT thrown this year.

Trapstars have managed in the few games without Garber, but when he is in the lineup, this team’s offence is near perfect. Garber is able to throw at all three levels of the field, and with the chemistry he has with his teammates over many years together, it shows. Garber has been playing at this level of competition throughout his FPF career, with most of his winter seasons in Division 4. He has played in Division C and Tier 3, where he has thrived in the past, but in the busiest season of FPF, he has not played a full season in Division 3 yet.

Adding him to any non-playoff team in Division 3 would make that offence much better and unlock their true potential. Adding him to a Nomads squad that has tall playmakers like Trenton Sheppard, Carter Soles, Ezechiel Tieide and the speed of Vincy Biandé would reduce the turnovers the offence had this past season.

Another underrated aspect is converts. Garber seems to have perfected running conversion plays, and that can elevate an offence to another level. I wonder if next year is the season Garber finally plays in Division 3, as his skills as a QB in Division 4 seem to be too much for the competition at this point.

Receiver Spotlight: Daniel Garcia

I didn’t know much about Daniel Garcia until I played him earlier in the season when I subbed for Ambush. Garcia had 71 yards on 5 catches along with a TD. I spoke to QB Nicolas Katerelos, and he told me that Garcia is a hidden talent in the league and that he hopes not to lose him to other teams who may try to take him away from Nut N’ Run. After seeing him in that contest up close, I couldn’t agree more with Katerelos.

Garcia is fast, shifty, and has hops. Already playing on an offence featuring Samuel Deland and Charles-Antoine Nadeau, Garcia fit perfectly, turning this offence from an impeccable duo into the top trio of receivers in Division 4. Garcia finished with 471 yards and 13 TDs on the year, all career highs.

If I could put him on a Division 3 team, I’d look for a team that loves to play fast and has a QB who is efficient at getting his receivers the ball. Look no further than All-Blacks. They have the best defence in Division 3, with the most INTs, sacks, and least points allowed. What has limited their play is their offence, and it’s not like their offence is bad by any means.

Yannick Bissonnette has a roster full of tall, fast receivers and delivered with 32 TDs on the year. Adding a speedy receiver like Garcia can limit the need for deep throws and lower the number of sacks by giving him a quick option to create yards after the catch. Adding a player who doesn’t need to be the number one option unless needed would take this fringe playoff team in All-Blacks into the conversation for a deep playoff run.

2-Way Spotlight: Gianni Casati

Casati played with Lebrontourage when they were in Division C last spring as a QB. He has had success as a QB in both mid-tier divisions of FPF and has recently been transitioning to a WR role. Co-Ed 3 was too easy for him, as he won WR of the Year with 700 yards and 26 TDs. Now in 4A with Black Vipers, Casati sits with 586 yards and 16 TDs, which is not bad at all in his first season in men’s 6v6 as a receiver.

Casati is fast and has great hands, and as a tackle football QB and WR, he has all the skills to be a great flag player. Unlike many tackle players, Casati has early flag football experience dating back to high school with one of Quebec’s most respected coaches and players, Charles Verreault.

With the season Casati had in Division 4, there’s no question he can thrive in Division 3. He has seen the level of play before, and even though he is transitioning to a flag receiver, he has all the tools in place.

As much as I’m talking about his offensive skills, Casati is also capable on the defensive end. He finished tied for 5th in total tackles and added 3 INTs, a sack, and a pick-six, showing his versatility given his offensive responsibilities.

Adding him to a Division 3 team as a two-way player would allow a team to use his speed and hands while also adding someone with a strong football IQ and more flag experience than expected. As much as pairing him with Verreault on Speed Academy would make sense, that team is already near perfect and has a rotation of five talented receivers.

I think adding Casati to Les Petites Carottes would make an already top team nearly unbeatable. QB Jason Rayes is a proven winner and knows how to get the most out of his receivers. Adding another reliable receiver to a lineup that already includes Manu Allard-Roy, Zachary Cloutier, and Michael Fafard would do wonders. On the defensive end, LPC thrives on playmakers, and adding Casati would not only help him grow but also give the team another fast defender that offences would have to worry about.

Rusher Breakout: Samuel Côté

Côté had a solid Winter 2026 campaign with Mofos, finishing 3rd in sacks with 10 in only 7 games. This marks the third season in his young FPF career where he has recorded 10+ sacks.

I’ve seen Côté play earlier in the season, and he has the ability to use his length to eliminate running lanes for QBs. He’s quick off the snap and doesn’t allow most QBs to make the first move. Côté has played in Tier 3 but has never played in Division 3 during the winter season. The easy move would be for Mofos to move up, and he would likely fit right in.

Adding a top rusher can change the defensive focus of a team, especially in the playoffs. Looking at Division 3, a team that could use help at rusher is EastWay. They already have plenty of FPF experience and rely on high IQ and athleticism, finishing 8–2. They have a solid offence under Samuel Omombo and allow only 23 points per game.

To take this defence to the next level, adding a tall rusher like Côté would make the field even smaller for opposing offences. Nathan Excellent leads the team with 4 sacks, but three of those came in one game. Outside of that, the rusher position is arguably their only weakness.

Rushers are key for creating pressure, but having one who can make game-changing plays every game allows momentum to shift. In the playoffs, that matters even more. Côté has the ability to cause havoc, and on a team like this, he would fit right in.
