5v5 Competitive: Headlines and Power Rankings Ahead of Week 13

Which top 2 team pulled ahead after Week 13?

At this time, there are two teams with only one loss: PartyCrashers and Braves. Flag Moi L’Sac and Raw Dawgs are close behind with 6–2 records each. Even though Raw Dawgs and Flag Moi can win out and finish 8–2, I think the top seed will ultimately be decided between the Braves and PartyCrashers.

In Week 13, the Braves play twice, while PartyCrashers won’t play until Week 14. Looking at Raw Dawgs, they face Naproxen and the Braves. If Raw Dawgs had beaten KGP, they would be firmly in the conversation for the top spot. They can still win out, but their final matchup of the week against the Braves may ultimately end that chance.

Speaking of the Braves, they play Flag Moi before facing Raw Dawgs on Wednesday evening. Because of this, I see that matchup essentially deciding who has the best chance to finish first in the standings, with PartyCrashers waiting. Both teams’ only losses came against PartyCrashers.

I also can’t forget Flag Moi, who are still in the mix for a top spot. As of right now, they are the only team to have beaten PartyCrashers. However, they play KGP and the Braves in Week 13, so there are no easy matchups for them.

I expect Jordan Panetta to be at QB for Raw Dawgs, and if Jo Maheu is under center for the green and black, it should be a great matchup. With Raw Dawgs playing multiple games in a short span, fatigue could be a factor heading into that game. The Braves only play once beforehand, but it’s a tougher matchup against Flag Moi.

I wouldn’t be surprised if either team wins, but I’m leaning toward the Braves beating Raw Dawgs, while PartyCrashers win their final game to secure the number one seed. As for Flag Moi, I think they will split Week 13 and finish the regular season at 7–3.

Is MTL Magic considered the underdog against Bleue Dry 10.1?

MTL Magic hasn’t had the season most people expected, for various reasons. The roster isn’t the same, as Jeanslee Alexis, Raff Morelli, and AJ Gomes are not with the team this winter. Dan Lazzara is working with an offence he has experience with, but removing two of your four main receivers requires adjustments. We’ve seen Félix Boutet continue to make plays, along with the savvy Serge Pilon Jr. and the emerging Justin McLean, who has been getting more reps.

For Bleue Dry 10.1, this season has gone as I expected. They’ve shown they can put up points against strong teams, but their defence has been their Achilles’ heel in 5v5 Competitive. They have the roster to compete, but with most of the group coming from their Intermediate championship last season, they lack some of the higher-tier talent that other teams have. Nevertheless, Fred Juneau has made it work, which means their playmakers need to step up and make bigger plays—and they’ve shown signs of that. Yvan Desjardins and Ashton Thibeault have been great offensively, leading the team in receiving stats, while Desjardins and Samuel Sicard have been active defensively, making tackles and preventing big plays.

Bleue Dry defeated MTL Magic in Week 11 on a final-play touchdown and conversion to win 31–30. In this rematch, these teams feel more evenly matched than ever. MTL Magic is still figuring out its roster and has lacked consistency, while Bleue Dry has had the opposite situation—a stable group, but less experience at the Competitive level. I expect both QBs, Juneau and Lazzara, to be able to move the ball with ease.

I’m going to give the edge to MTL Magic, assuming Lazzara has a stronger roster available for this game, which could give them the advantage over Bleue Dry 10.1. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bleue Dry pulls it off again by a single possession. Both teams will be looking to build momentum as they head into the playoffs in a few weeks.

Is KGP Elite the team people should be looking out for?

Slowly settling in the middle of the pack is KGP Elite, currently sitting at 4–3. They just came off a close 25–20 victory over Raw Dawgs last night. It wasn’t a high-scoring game, but it fell in KGP’s favor. Phil Cutler was efficient as usual, with only five incompletions, and even caught a receiving TD from Rory Semerjian, if the box score is correct. It’s been an interesting season for KGP, as they’ve shown they can score in bunches—like their 53–24 win over MTL Magic—but have also been underwhelming at times, such as their earlier loss to Raw Dawgs and their loss to Bleue Dry.

Outside of Raw Dawgs and the Braves, they haven’t faced a team where I felt they were outmatched. They have Flag Moi this week after playing last night, followed by PartyCrashers the next week, before closing the season against Naproxen.

The offence has been solid, as Cutler currently has five receivers with over 10 receptions. The issue is on the defensive side. While Ethan Adrian has been a strong rusher and sits near the top of the leaderboard with five sacks alongside PartyCrashers’ François Hogue, the team hasn’t capitalized defensively beyond that. They only have four interceptions, which is tied for the lowest so far, and they allow 55% of fourth-down attempts to convert into a first down or touchdown. The defence will need to be sharp when they face arguably the top two offences in their next two games.

This team has the experience, speed, and schemes to make a solid playoff run. Cutler has been doing this for a while, and the team has the chemistry to compete. A win against Flag Moi or PartyCrashers would be huge for their confidence, but I don’t see them stopping either offence defensively. I do think they’ll take care of business against Naproxen and finish the season at 5–5, right in the middle of the pack where they currently sit.

Week 12 Power Rankings

1️⃣ PartyCrashers (8-1)

Week 10 ranking: -

With only one game these past two weeks, PartyCrashers took care of Naproxen with a 30pt win. They will have Week 13 off before a matchup against KGP Elite and with a win, will claim first place as they have the tiebreaker over Braves.

2️⃣ Braves (6-1)

Week 10 ranking: +1

Only played once as well, Braves took care of KGP 38-24 after a great game from Jo Maheu. With three games remaining, Braves will look towards defeating Flag Moi and Raw Dawgs in two highly anticipated games before ending with MTL Magic to end the regular season. A PartyCrashers loss and Braves win-out the rest of their games, they would claim the number 1 seed.

3️⃣ Raw Dawgs (6-2)

Week 10 ranking: +1

Raw Dawgs would beat Flag Moi by 20, beat #NR is a surprising close game but would open Week 13 with a loss to KGP. Raw Dawgs will have a chance to redeem themselves against Naproxen before a big showdown against Braves.

4️⃣ Flag Moi L’Sac (6-2)

Week 10 ranking: -2

Outside of the 20pt loss to Raw Dawgs in Week 10, Flag Moi have been quiet recently. It won’t last long as big games against the Braves and KGP Elite to close out their regular season. They would love to beat both teams, especially Braves who beat them earlier in the season 43-20.

5️⃣ KGP Elite (4-3)

Week 10 ranking: -

KGP Elite would go 2-1 in their last three games including a victory over Raw Dawgs last night. They will face the offensive Flag Moi team and if they can win that matchup and sweep Week 14 against number 1 PartyCrashers and Naproxen, KGP might be a team we start to consider to being a true contender for the Competitive crown.

6️⃣ Bleue Dry 10.1 (2-6)

Week 10 ranking: +2

The big win over MTL Magic is the reason Bleue Dry has jumped up. Fred Juneau and company are willing to take on any challenge and they proved that in their win in Week 11. They do have the rematch this upcoming Thursday against MTL Magic before closing their season against the winless #NR.

7️⃣ MTL Magic (2-6)

Week 10 ranking: -1

A shocking loss to Bleue Dry 10.1 or was it actually expected? MTL Magic would lose not only that game but would proceed to allow 53pts to KGP Elite, their highest point total since joining 5v5 Competitive in FPF. A rematch against Bleue Dry in Week 13 before a Fall 2025 finals rematch against Braves. Can MTL Magic produce some magic in hopes of making a run in the playoffs?

8️⃣ Naproxen (2-6)

Week 10 ranking: -1

Beating Bleue Dry by 20 was a great way to start Week 10 but a blowout loss to PartyCrashers and loss to Flag Moi had brought Naproxen down to earth. They get two big tests in Raw Dawgs and KGP Elite. I think these two are great competition for this group and I can see them splitting the matchups 1-1.

9️⃣ #NR (0-9)

Week 10 ranking: 1

It’s been a tough season for #NR and right now, they are really playing to not finish the year 0-10. They bounced back in the rematch against Raw Dawgs but were still on the wrong end of a 5pt game. They play Bleue Dry 10.1 to end the season, probably the best matchup they can ask for at this point. Can this group of experienced and talented players be able to celebrate as they walk into Spring 2026?
