2023 FPF CUP
SEASON START DATE:
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
FORMAT
Teams play 8 Preliminary Round games. Once the opening stage is completed, all teams move onto the Knockout Round.
In the Knockout Round, all teams are placed in one single bracket, and they all start this round with a chance to win the cash prize. The (approximate) top 75% of teams gain the benefit of double elimination, whereas the bottom 25% percent are eliminated with one single defeat. See the example bracket below.
As a result, the teams who enter the final round in double elimination territory have a minimum of 10 games played overall in the FPF Cup; teams who are in the single portion of the bracket have a minimum of 9 games played.
The example below is a 18 team format. A team can play as many as seven (!) knockout round games in this format, for a grand total of 15 games!
